I love how once the battle starts, it's really dark and tense when Greevil is summoning his Pokemon. Then, the heroic music starts playing once you summon your Pokemon. The only Pokemon game where you actually feel heroic.
I love how much there is to see if you talk to people in the game rather than beelining through the story, if you speak to Ardos in the Krabby Club after he defeats Zook you get a slight hint that there may have been more to it than initially seen as when Jovi repeats her thanks to him he states: "There was no need for thanks, i was merely putting a fool in his place"

Articuno's is called Shadow Chill, and it's basically a purple Ice Beam that's Shadow type. And since the Salamence you can get from the previous guy is a Shadow Pokemon, it will resist Articuno's Shadow Chill
in my opinion this is literally the toughest trainer fight in the entire pokemon series. not only do you get to fight 3 legendaries but you have to fucking catch them

So, I was an absolute genius on my first run of this. After getting my ass kicked by this guy's 6 Shadow Pokemon (master balled Lugia on turn one, didn't even fight it), I came back with a team of 6 Shadow Pokemon of my own. My logic being that he can't insta murder my team if they resist every move he's got. The fight took forever, but it was an unforgettable experience
i dont even remember wat pokemon he had (i sold my pokemon games like 3 years ago), but i remember he reminded me of yoda, his eyes gave me nightmares, and he had the three ledgendary birds. and i remember how awkward it was when he was talkin to his son and i was just standing there on the other side of the room. Man, pokemon was so fun while it lasted.
I still have vivid memories of being hyped for this fight when I went into it. I legitimately haven't been as invested in a boss fight as much as this one for the past 5 or so years.
I've definitely been more invested in boss fights. Not in Pokemon, mind you. The bosses that spring to mind are: the 4th boss in the Black Workshop in Trails of Cold Steel IV, all three phases of the final boss from the same game, the second and third Vholran fights from Tales of Arise, the final duel with Asch from Tales of the Abyss, and the Mithos fight from Tales of Symphonia
I remember this came out while I was in middle school and everyone who had GameCube was playing this. My older brother and I even had separate memory cards just so we could have our own save files. Going into this battle I had - Umbreon (Phantom), Walrein (AngrCow), Arcanine (Rocky), Ampharos (Sparky), Gardevoir (Rats), Flygon (Sterling) Umbreon and Walrein were the MvPs of my team and carried not only this battle but also most of the battles on Mt. Battle, with battles 98, 99 and 100 being the ones they carried hard. Think my brother's team was - Espeon, Houndoom, Shadow Salamence, Shadow Lugia, Golduck, and Ampharos All these years later, I still have Phantom (Umbreon) transferred him all the way up to Sword version. Sadly most of the others were lost to my GameCube memory card getting corrupted. Only ones I managed to save and transfer up were the team from above, with Ampharos still being on Ultra Sun, Lugia, Salamence, Dragonite, Togetic, Altaria (who was actually my Mega Altaria in Alpha Sapphire and Ultra Sun). Really wish they'd do a remake of Gale of Darkness and Colosseum.
Gewoon Anouar I like the game too, but the aftergame regarding Orre Colosseum... I'm not exactly a competitive guy, but _damn_ do they like to impose limitations on you.
Even if this wasn't Pokemon music, it is still a beautiful and epic piece. Everything mixes in perfectly to create a harmony that you don't see in most games anymore.
I've read that they were intending for the protagonist from Colosseum to be the actual villain, and that he was only trying to defeat Evice so he could "Make Cipher Great Again." So imagine this playing while you're fighting a player who has betrayed everyone, including his own friends (his Pokemon, most likely). and is now the most powerful enemy in the land. I could see that fight as the opposite of the Genocide Route of Undertale... Of course, they replaced that idea with a new character who is just as terrrifying in a different way...
+Joshua Jayroe Not to mention the fact that you're fighting against the ultimate badass in the Pokemon universe, of course you're going to have a climactic finale. Genius Sonority realized that Wes was too powerful to be beaten by Michael so they threw in Greevil instead. Besides, Wes was too busy kicking some serious ass in another region. If Wes was the villain, the pokemon universe would turn into a huge ghetto in a matter of minutes, he wouldn't even need a "team cipher" he'd be conquering nations single handidly and proclaim himself the king of Orre.

Make sure you snag rhydon first, as his lightning rod will prevent you from thunder waving the rest of his shadows. Thunder wave really helps you snag. I use it on every shadow pkmn, using Ampharos in colosseum and joltyon in xd.
Ohhh I remember this battle. Flygon, altaria, jolteon, muk, I think forretress and magneton were there too, either magneton or swalot, were in for the fight of their lives. I think that was the first battle I ever used revives in, actually, I used 8 of them because I was being stupid about battling him. XD

I remember playing and my umbreon was MVP of this battle by far, 5/6 of my pokemon where defeated it was just me an my umbreon, we came close to losing but umbreon pulled through in the end with all greevil's shadow pokemon in my grasp
This is probably irrelevant now, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. While COD games are indeed good games (for the most part) but pokemon is a great series with a few titles that don't need to be mentioned. But pokemon (pun intended) has evovled into what it is now, online communities, almost endless content, high replay value, and great storylines. So yes pokemon tends to have the same formula from game to game, but they mix it up a little with pinball, as well as the mystery dungeon games. Call of duty I'm afraid is always the same game regardless of changing guns, equipment, or the storyline as with most first person shooters. So explain to me how cod is superior.
Another thing: if you can't be mature about this, then why use the internet in the first place? I'm into my twenties now and enjoy pokemon to this day. So if you've got nothing worth saying, then don't say anything by being a complete and utter troll.

I rember this theme! it's the best part of the game!^^. and for once they react once their pokemon are down also...catching the shadow pokemon he has..it was tough to catch them for me since i didn't have enough pokeballs but I stocked up and caught them..but I had to have Shadow lugia on my team so that way i can capture all of his pokemon.

:D Lol Greevil was quite easy for me even the first time....I guess that's what I got in the end for spending hours upstairs in my room afterschool playing this. Also,I used to just play through the battle over and over again to see the ending cutscenes. ^^
@MegaCloudMaster The glitch only works on the gamecube PKMN games (XD and Colloseum). When the pokeball wiggles once, u hold down (at the right time) the L, R, A and B buttons.
I personally think Genius Sonority did a great job with Colosseum and Gale of Darkness, both were very different Pokemon games but I welcomed both of them with open arms. Battle Revolution wasn't bad if you had a lot of friends with the game as well to battle or if you had a lot of friends nearby with DS. Other than that, there really wasn't a reason to pick it up
i mean if you think it they could add wild pokemon but instead of random encounters you can have them roaming across the map and if you want to catch/train up you can just walk up to them and enter battle, you could also sneak up on them by walking really slowly and throw a pokeball before the battle starts to make catching pokemon quicker so that it doesn't slow the game down, i don't see why they haven't done that yet, pokemon snap had lots on pokemon roaming around.
I know, because if you miss any shadows, you have to go back and battle him again. Therefore, catching all six makes it so that Greevil literally doesn't have any Pokemon left. It makes you truley triumphant over him.
Let's not forget about Evice Another successful villain and his malicious work and crew the Cipher gang which was bad-ass i love both generations of the game .---. And later after the game was Greevil which also then lead to another astounding adventure!
I remember when I first played this game, when this music started playing, it was so sinister that it made think "oh shit I'm screwed" even though it was irrational since I had the master ball
I think they should re-incorporate the Shadow Pokemon as an alternate "Shiny" Pokemon. Imagine, you go into the tall grass and there is a Black Pikachu with black eyes sitting there waiting for you. Could even keep the Shadow type attacks in game, even make it an official type.
Darn another real nice old guy turns out to be the boss of a bad team just like the mayor in Colosseum but then agian I did always wonder why he had such scary looking bodyguards
You know what the worst part is? If you were stupid enough to not use the Master Ball on Lugia (like me) then YOU DON'T GET TO HEAL BETWEEN FIGHTS. I went into this fight with a single Walrein with 8 hp left.
i caught all his pkmn in one go, it took me like a half hour and i got them all slowly when i finally got him down to just zapdos i ran out of all my ultra balls and had only a timer ball left, i threw it praying for the best, and capture successful...ah good times
When I played this, I almost had all of his Shadow Pokemon! I was so close! I had a Breloom with stun spore, and a Pokemon with False swipe to do the job.
The only two Pokemon I can remember using against this guy the first time are Jolteon and Pidgeot. I also had a slot free when Snagging Shadow Lugia so I was able to use him too. Though I can't seem to remember the other two I had in my team. Then again, It was nearly two years ago that I got this game.

All your snags go away if you lose the battle, so that Master Ball could very well end up completely going to waste.

Also,I used to just play through the battle over and over again to see the ending cutscenes. ^^

@MegaCloudMaster The glitch only works on the gamecube PKMN games (XD and Colloseum). When the pokeball wiggles once, u hold down (at the right time) the L, R, A and B buttons.

I personally think Genius Sonority did a great job with Colosseum and Gale of Darkness, both were very different Pokemon games but I welcomed both of them with open arms. Battle Revolution wasn't bad if you had a lot of friends with the game as well to battle or if you had a lot of friends nearby with DS. Other than that, there really wasn't a reason to pick it up
i mean if you think it they could add wild pokemon but instead of random encounters you can have them roaming across the map and if you want to catch/train up you can just walk up to them and enter battle, you could also sneak up on them by walking really slowly and throw a pokeball before the battle starts to make catching pokemon quicker so that it doesn't slow the game down, i don't see why they haven't done that yet, pokemon snap had lots on pokemon roaming around.
This is just epic. Seriously.
I know, because if you miss any shadows, you have to go back and battle him again. Therefore, catching all six makes it so that Greevil literally doesn't have any Pokemon left. It makes you truley triumphant over him.
Let's not forget about Evice Another successful villain and his malicious work and crew the Cipher gang which was bad-ass i love both generations of the game .---.
And later after the game was Greevil which also then lead to another astounding adventure!

I think they should re-incorporate the Shadow Pokemon as an alternate "Shiny" Pokemon.
Imagine, you go into the tall grass and there is a Black Pikachu with black eyes sitting there waiting for you. Could even keep the Shadow type attacks in game, even make it an official type.
Darn another real nice old guy turns out to be the boss of a bad team just like the mayor in Colosseum but then agian I did always wonder why he had such scary looking bodyguards

You know what the worst part is? If you were stupid enough to not use the Master Ball on Lugia (like me) then YOU DON'T GET TO HEAL BETWEEN FIGHTS.
I went into this fight with a single Walrein with 8 hp left.
i caught all his pkmn in one go, it took me like a half hour and i got them all slowly when i finally got him down to just zapdos i ran out of all my ultra balls and had only a timer ball left, i threw it praying for the best, and capture successful...ah good times

Ahhhhhhhh memories
When I played this, I almost had all of his Shadow Pokemon! I was so close! I had a Breloom with stun spore, and a Pokemon with False swipe to do the job.
The only two Pokemon I can remember using against this guy the first time are Jolteon and Pidgeot. I also had a slot free when Snagging Shadow Lugia so I was able to use him too. Though I can't seem to remember the other two I had in my team.
Then again, It was nearly two years ago that I got this game.
