My friend died last year ,we both loved the trashcans. I know he listened to "in the music "a lot during his illness.I think you guys helped him in some way to deal with the helplessness of his situation.I love the whole album but" the engine" is the song that i think would have given him some sort of comfort during his last days.Thank you john and the guys for the great inspiring song that is "the engine" .Love from Glasgow at christmas...
The helplessness of loving equated to the helplessness of believing the world will save itself because like in love, we are powerless to save ourselves. Yet we keep on living and loving regardless. Such a perfect sound to such a somber subject.
