- At 12:40 am Sunday EMC and Porter Fire were dispatched to a reported crash involving a vehicle that left the freeway and crashed under the overpass. Units got there to find a Jeep Wrangler upside down on FM 1485 under SH 99. The driver had been ejected from the vehicle and was deceased. The drivers wife who was in the passenger seat was in stable condition and transported to Kingwood Hospital. She did have a seatbelt on. DPS Troopers determined the Jeep was westbound on SH 99 between WIlderness and Galaxy Drive. As he approached the FM 1485 overpass the 30-year-old male left the roadway and traveled down the center grassy median. With no barrier at the overpass, the Jeep launched off and landed upside down some 20 feet below. The driver who was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected from the vehicle. Eickenhorst Funeral Directors transported the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
Couple was in the car. Passenger women survived with minor injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt. Driver man did not survive. He was not wearing his seatbelt. Alcohol was involved. I tried helping but he had already passed. His name was George. My condolences to the family.
@@paulguerrero8500 not a problem i did what anyone would've. I wish i couldve helped more to be honest
Thank you for stopping and attempting to help. I wasn’t aware there was a passenger in the jeep as well. Thank you for the info.
Thank you for helping.

That roll cage did its job! Damn
Nope he didn't have a seat belt on and lost his life.😢

That has nothing to do with the roll cage@@apriledmunds9854
April, had the person had their seatbelt on, I’m not sure if a persons head and neck could take the G-Force sustained in the impact with the asphalt/concrete. Kind like when nascar drivers hit the wall at certain angle. Body and organs can’t take the sudden stop.
@@treydogg77 Passenger had seat belt on and survived and was in stable condition.
When will people realise that wearing a seatbelt, cutting speed and not drinking will save lives, how sad for the wider family 😮
Seatbelts save lives!
Um, so does staying on the road
Good morning Carole. You’re so right- seatbelts do save lives. It is sad to know he could have possibly survived the accident, if not for being ejected.
What a loss, young man leaving this life in such a way. My condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
So does driving sober.
It just depends where you're standing when you make that statement, where you're getting your statistics ? there's just as many people in car accidents that are getting killed with seat belts than without.
I new a DPS officer that would absolutely not wear his seatbelt, he was on the force for over 40 years, he had told me he seen more people that lost their lives because of wearing a seatbelt.
Also in your vehicle that's your business, should not be mandatory absolutely not at all.
It almost looks like a suicide stint, it’s a good distance in the median to the shear drop off.
I own a Jeep that looks exactly like this, nice to know the roll bars are solid. The cab isn't even crushed! Too bad they weren't wearing a seatbelt.
She was wearing a seatbelt not him
How do all these people that are dying lately, not have a seat belt on? 🤔 My car, which is older, makes a shrieking noise that is loud and impossible to ignore. 🙉
No doubt, life is hard...it's even harder when you're stupid. -John Wayne
My deepest condolences to the family

OK. Seat belt time. WEAR it even if you don't like them.
Just 3 days ago my sister-in-law's husband's brother was driving his pickup on I-90 in South Dakota when he was rear-ended by someone in a car. This caused him to lose control and go into a ditch and roll. Unfortunately, he as usual was NOT wearing his seat belt. He was ejected and the truck continued to roll right over him, killing him. The driver of the car was not injured.
I'm just curious as to who it is that always activates the emergency flashers on the crashed vehicles where it was a Fatal. You know very well the occupant of the vehicle didn't activate em.
I'm guessing that it's something tied to the airbags on modern vehicles, airbags deploy and the hazards automatically turn on. I have seen the same thing and wondered how they got turned on. Just a guess, but as much tech is in cars today it's possible.
Career tech here.Your exactly right. Today's cars have many modules. The Restraint module (air bags etc) is networked with the body control module and programmed to turn on the hazards and unlock the doors so first responders don't have to.
Or windshield wipers
This would be totally terrifying. I'd be dead if I was wearing a seatbelt when my car rolled over. Still it's a good idea to buckle up.
😢 please wear your seat belt!
And please don’t drink then drive.
Wow, seriously, it makes me want to look into buying a Jeep. I'm amazed at how that jeep stood up to that wreck 😮.
Sadly, the driver decided not to wear their seat belt. 😔 R.I.P. HOPEFULLY, there wasn't alcohol involved. Condolences to friends and family
I’m looking for a safe SUV and had been considering the Jeep Grand Cherokee or the Subaru Outback. After seeing this video, I’m now going to look at Jeep Wranglers. Safety first for me.
!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Don’t under estimate a Subaru!
This guy lives just down the street from me. Never met him, just recognize the wheels of the jeep.
!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Used to live down the street.
@@ericsmith-sx8xi idiot!
Looks like he missed the overpass
It didn't Drop Off an overpass. It was DRIVEN Off an Overpass
That roll cage did not buckle, so if he had had his seat belt on, he might have survived with only a coupe of broken bones if that. He'll never know. RIP young man.
Sadly true. My dad passed away 5 years ago outside El Paso from falling asleep and rolling his Tacoma pickup. I had to get his stuff out of the truck later and looking at the roof on the driver's side, it looked survivable had he worn his seat belt.
@telcobilly
Sorry for your loss.
May he RIP.
Very sad! 😢 Wrangler or Gladiator? Either way, makes me appreciate my Jeeps roll bars.
Gladiator
@@eclipse3356 Yep, I know. I don’t know why they called it a Wrangler. Guess they just didn’t know.
So terribly sad. Young man, midnight, highly likely alcohol involved. Prayers for his family.
!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
RIP 🙏
Not drinking and driving saves lives. And seatbelts are mandatory.
No more seatbelt worries for Jeep driver.
Who doesn't wear a seat belt while driving nowadays?
Too cool to wear his seatbelt. Difference between open and closed casket.
!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. We didn’t need him around anyway
Why are all these vehicles going over the concrete barrier on these overpasses??
Too bad ALL VEHICLES don't come with a roll cage built into them.
This young drivers are taking themselves out all for speed and not wearing a seatbelt my condolences to his family 😢had he worn his seatbelt he’d be here today! I never understood the “I’m not wearing a seatbelt because I’m to cool for it” mentality , dance with the devil once and do it again and you’ll find out ! Please people wear your seatbelts
R.I.P.
A bus did this same thing several years back in NW Florida .
It's a Jeep Thing
Some people shouldnt have Drivers liscense! Accidents do happen though! How do fell off a overpass?
Some people should learn grammar!
Hasn't this exact scenario happened before? Makes you wonder if this was intentional or not. Either way, these crashes keep your mind in check of how dangerous the roads are here in and around Houston.
@jamie6387 I'm in North Carolina. A rural area but a larger city a half hour away. It seems daily there are horrible car crashes with fatalities and/or catastrophic injuries. Mainly speed, not paying attention like texting and people Not wearing their seat belts. I have family members in Georgia and Virginia and it's the same there as well. Looking at statistics with such large numbers of deceased in auto crashes there is a nationwide problem.
Have a great Sunday..
Everyone stay safe out there 🙏
Anywhere at that hour of the night.
I think this happened last year along same stretch
I wonder why the left the roadway?
Idk either intentional suicide Or under influence of something... 🤔
True, but also possible that they 'didn't believe' in seatbelts and just fell asleep. Toxicology tests will certainly be able to tell if under the influence of something, but for the rest ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I bet there is a text on the driver's phone from *just* before their vehicle went airborne. Either way, seatbelts save lives.
Ever heard of falling asleep? How about not being familiar with the road? Maybe preoccupied with their phone or simply not paying attention 🤷 Not everything is a Suicide or DUI 🤦
Stop speculating ! This was someone's son, grandson maybe brother, uncle etc... Let him Rest in Peace.💔
Yes he was my nephew.
No need to presume what had happened.
How does one just fall off the overpass?
💐🕊
Why don't these overpasses have safety fencing on them ?
Yeeeeeeet!

We replaced the gaurd rail with the inverted concrete kick flip killer K wall launch ramp as a permanent construction design because insurance is organized crime and organ donning is big business.
We can't hold a tolerance on anything.
Back in the day I joked that, in an accident, I wanted to be thrown clear. Not anymore.
Years ago a dude hauling super B trailers actually lived because of being ejected around where I live. He smoked a bear and it balled up under the truck. He lost control and went into the ditch and hit the driveway for the dump (where the bear was heading for dinner) he was ejected out the windshield and the rear trailer landed on the cab of the truck. Had he not supermanned out the windshield he would have been crushed by the trailer
I love those JEEPS, wish I could afford one !!! Was this a medical issue or he fell asleep at the wheel... when I ever get that tired I'm off the road and guzzling REDBULL !!!
Jeepers creepers man be extra safe out there!!!
Probably on his phone
Its a jeep thing
At least his wife is alive to mourn him, and shout at the world and tell everyone to wear there seat belt. 🙋♂

This Jeep was sewn up from another Jeep with evidentiary proof to support found at the front grill behind structure thereof which saw this fatality occur. There is however another factor in this situation which needs consideration and that is very souped up tyres on a flimsy structure sewn up from another vehicle are disasters waiting to occur. Jeeps are the worst vehicles on the road for safety!
The Jeep survived quite well. Roll bar is intact and prevented top of vehicle from being crushed. Some damage to the front, but not bad. Driver error for the crash. Driver error for being ejected. Jeep did good.
Seatbelt wasn’t going to save this one. Upside down crush. RIP.
It actually could have. He was EJECTED! The frame of the Jeep isn't to badly damaged. Yes he would have been upside down. But he could have possibly survived this. My bf was in an accident almost identical. But someone was drunk, hit him (like a pit maneuver) and sent him over the guardrail. He was in a Jeep w/ a roll bar . He flipped 2.5 times. Landed upside down. The cops said the seatbelt saved his life.
My mother was in a roll over car accident in an older Toyota Highlander. Rolled over twice and landed upside down. She had her seatbelt on and survived. Amazingly she had no broken bones. Bruised ribs, dislocated shoulder from seatbelt and the worst bruising I have ever seen from the seatbelt holding her in place. EMT and police said having a seatbelt made a significant difference in survival
Crush? What are you talking about, the cage prevented the roof from crushing in. Also seatbelt probably would've saved him. There were 2 people in the vehicle 1 wearing seat belt and one not wearing seat belt. The driver the one not wearing the seat belt was ejected and died. The passenger who was wearing a seat belt survived and was in stable condition.
