It is premature to assume that all (or many) Seventh-day Adventists are non-engaged Pharisees. Seventh-day Adventist Christians are simply representatives of our society as a whole; all church denominations consists of hypocrites, racists, and those who bypass the downtrodden, and equally so, all denominations have true soldiers of the cross, those good Samaritans who see humanity for what it is and get actively involved. For every SDA Christian that may see Dr. West as a political pundit in the pulpit, others see a visionary, a voice of conscious for our people. I am a Seventh-day Adventist Christian, and from a child I was actively involved in civil rights, so don't make hasty generalizations about SDA's. I know too many of them who have great passion for Black people and great outrage for injustices perpetrated upon them. Withholding your tithes is between you and God, but don't put on your holding off of tithes on unconverted Christianity. Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what belongs to God, and give Dr. West kudos for killing the culprits; everyone has a calling, we are not cookie cutter Christians. This man speaks on the social-political side of theology, so let's embrace the Lord's servant and be enlightened.

This video presents prophecies being fulfilled as men have itching ears to hear what they want. This is indeed is a spiritual movement of works and not that of the robe of righteousness of Christ within. Many wolves dressed in sheep clothing have infiltrated the SDA church and now are leading the flock to the slaughter house. It is Christ righteousness by faith that we are to lead all men woman and child to rather then the history of men and request of honoring of men.
I will say however, that Cornel West promoting KRS One or his views on homosexuality are NOT in keeping with what I believe to be the gospel, which is why when we invite speakers to our colleges that don't believe what we believe we run a great risk. His views on race and social justice however, are not out of line with the gospel at all, and if you think they are, then you're seeing a very different Jesus than the one I read about in my bible. Racism is just a sub-category of hate. So I am fully confident God wants His people to help eradicate hate wherever they are able to. So no, if racism still exists (and I promise it does) then we in the church, along with our leaders, have a duty to address and point it out. It’s quite clear when paired against the commands of the Bible.

I read some of the other comments made regarding that this sort of speech on SDA pulpits and all i can say is, "poppy-cock!" YHWH God is not sending His only begotten Son to reclaim denominations but rather He will be collecting those who are "true worshipers". Plain and simple. The SDA movement (as an organization) fell off the consecrated course far long ago. Enjoyed Cornel West's words and wisdom. Perfect, far from it; but poignant and relevant, most certainly !
