Your connection was straight to router? I heard from another channel that you can get better speeds off of wifi. I tried it and I did get better speeds going wifi instead of direct. Now I want to try this to see if I can get better speeds. Just a quick question...is 200 good from a 500 speed subscription???

This is just clickbait because changing DNS servers does not speed up your internet. The most it would do is speed up your domain name lookup.

Clickbait indeed. Just like the Nvidia shield killer device that turned out to be several hundred dollars more expensive and not half as good, and just like the supposed downfall of Amazon's freevee which of course as we all know by now is not going anywhere anytime soon. Clickbait and misinformation based on wild inaccurate misinformed internet rumors.
I'm pretty sure many of the subscribers of this channel expect better content than it has provided lately. Perhaps we assumed too much of the content creator but I really really do hope he hears what we are saying and tries to provide useful content going forward so we can stay happy subscribers enjoying much of the fine content this channel does provide, however a few videos lately have not been so great.
An application like this which offers to change simple settings for you which you can easily do yourself looks more like a honey pot so your data can be collected by them, hopefully they are legitimate and this is not doing anything of that type but how can you really know? Best to change the settings yourself. Much easier than messing with this unnecessary app. Just find a list of the top 10 best DNS servers on any credible source and change the numbers to yourself.

Love the videos but i think you are a little confused about what a DNS does. I'm a tech and a DNS (domain name system) that is faster can help your websites load a tad quicker by providing them with a faster lookup time and route to loading. Imagine it like DNS being Google maps and your car being your internet you pay for. The maos give you the good route but its still up to your fast car to get you there even faster. Also the reason I dont use a VPN is because i pay for 1.2Gbps down (via link aggregation aka using two ethernet cables) and 400Mbps up. Most VPNs can't get anywhere near that in speed. Now that would be a good test to compare VPN speeds. VPNs just arent necessary for security but they cant be good for changing your location to access catalogs of Netflix, Hulu, etc from another region. It's really all its good for in the long run.

So does this hide your browsing from your service provider as well like a vpn?

I'm not saying this to be cruel but it's extremely easy especially nowadays to quickly get any info you desire. Especially if you have something like an echo or Alexa device. DNS means domain name server. It's basically a phone book for the internet. The only thing this does by changing different DNS servers is some DNS servers might be closer to your location so therefore it might look up the IP address of the website you go to slightly faster.
He presented this like it makes a speed difference but it really does not. Your internet speed is the same with every DNS server but the DNS server you might be using could be introducing a little bit of delay depending on how fast the DNS server does what its job is to do. The truth is he has the same speed internet with all of these DNS servers but some DNS servers will look up the information slightly faster so it might be good to stick with that DNS server if he's getting better faster results.
Your internet service provider can see everything you are doing unless you are using an encrypted tunnel of the traffic is going through which would be a VPN.instead of this application what you really should do if you want to use a different DNS server such as Google DNS or Open DNS or cloudflare, which is my personal choice, it's just log into your router and there is literally a line where it asks what DNS server you want to use. You are probably using the default DNS server your ISP uses but you can change that to any DNS server. I have changed mine on my router to cloudflare so every device in my house uses cloudflare DNS instead of the default DNS server provided by my ISP. I do get slightly faster better results using cloudflare so that's why I use them.
If you simply Google DNS Benchmark there is a very handy and very very safe legitimate app made by a security professional named Steve Gibson and this application will give you accurate results on different DNS servers that you can choose.
Very disappointed in this channel lately. Hoping content gets better soon.
It's very much worth it to learn a few simple basics like what a DNS server is, what a VPN is, etc. Plenty of really great sources out there. Just do a few searches on RUclips and look around at what you find. Perhaps this channel could even serve up some of that content with accurate information to put a clear picture on this type of video.
