the Arkeyan King (not confirmed to be Arkus, we don't know if Arkus was a person or not) was most likely deactivated, he was already a robot so defeating him just made him go offline, that's the lore we have as all the lore relating to the Arkeyans says they went into a "deep sleep", they aren't dead they're just turned off, and can and have been brought to life again plenty of times in the series particularly in the first half as for Drill-X, he wasn't technically destroyed, he also shut down, and we can also assume Grill-X from SC is just him being rebuilt and repurposed but it's unconfirmed whether they are the same character or a pair of separate ones
I better say it. The end of the comic was meant to be a reference to The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, as some people have theorized that Spyro reincarnates, once a century. Though you don't really need to know much about The Legends trilogy to know that Malefor is just meant to be an evil and older counterpart to Spyro.
"Return of the dragon king" used to be my favourite comic. It made me create my own headcannon, in which Spyro, Cynder and Malefor are reincarnations of their former selves after they died in the final moments of LoS (yeah, they kinda die in the end, but it is hinted that at least Spyro and Cynder survived in some way or another). So for example Cynder's backstory is either just Spyro's and Cynder's collective memories mixed with folk legends about the dragon mistress who used to serve Malefor, or after her reincarnation she just went back to her former job. But D. Rodriguez kinda shattered that. But I still got hope for a joint LoS and Skylanders universe. They couldn't have torn the planet apart at the end of LoS for nothing.
6:20 Ghosts are usually entities which linger after death as a looped phenomenon. They might act like the living, and believe themselves to still be alive. Unless they find their bodies which contain their memories, or receive them in some other way, they cannot realise they're dead by themselves, and cannot move on. These are mostly kids or innocent people. Spirits are entities similar to ghosts, but they still have, or have regained their memories, and are aware about their demise and they live condemned to wander around forever unless they make peace with their unfinished business. They're more vengeful and wrathful than the ghosts, as they know what happened to them, especially if they died from a murder or manslaughter incident. Then there's Shades, who are nicknamed as being demonic, despite not really being demons themselves. Depending on the Shade, they can be malevolent entities, only focused on inflicting pain to the living. They're explicitly evil and feed on dark energies or vibes To be specific, they're like if your shadow itself came to life, who inflicts pain on the living to feed on these dark emotions, while also being able to hide in other's shadows, and control them like puppets, similar to ghosts who try to possess a person's body. And, since they feed on negative emotions, they'd be naturally weak to positive emotions, and obviously, light and heat. These Shades are associated with memories, also known as Remnant, or experience (EXP). memories make up the soul of one's self, with it being the accumulated memories/Remnant/EXP of oneself. Memories/Remnant/Experience can also exist in a physical form as a gas in the form or orbs. These orbs differ in colour depending on the emotion held within them, and their size depends on the length of the memory or experience. Examples of this seen in Skylanders include the EXP orbs, the fragments of one's soul that Chop Chop can steal with Vampiric Aura to heal himself, and the Dark Remnants Hood Sickle uses as a replacement for ghosts in Imaginators, alongside Knightmare's ability to summons doppelgangers of enemies that feature their memories, specifically that of combat. Interestingly, the term "Dark Remnant" is later featured in the FNaF series, which also explores this concept seen in Skylanders. Doppelgangers made from Dark Remnant are usually what are referred to as Shades, beings who were never alive to begin with and believe they are the original. Some spirits can utilise some of the powers Shades have by utilising their own negative memories as a form of attack, either physical or psychological. Although, these are still weak to light, fire, and positive memories. The Remnant that seems to hold the undead enemies in Spyro's Adventure together are notably weak to most forms of fire, though this isn't the case for other undead enemies seen in later parts of the series, while some Undead Skylanders are weak to the Magic element instead during PvP. And, if the ending of The Legend of Spyro was Skylands' creation, it'd explain why Spyro suddenly has encyclopaedic knowledge of each island he visits, even if his physical body has only visited it for the first time. This is possibly due to him absorbing the Remnant he exerted at the end of TLoS, which was then duplicated via the Benevolent Ancient's Mind Magic. There's also the possibility that "the Quicksilver" from Quicksilver vault is related to this as well, which acts as a conductor of TLoS Spyro's Remnant, which is also known as Aether, also known to have a dark form once negative emotions are in play. Then I guess there's Ghost Eaters, like Ghost Roaster, who feed on ghosts and other supernatural beings, with them once being living beings at some point as well. Sorry for the random supernatural rant, I just thought it'd be informative.😅
Keep up the good work, Neon Batteries! I too have some fan fictions adding to the Skylanders lore, and your channel has inspired me to get them out into the world somehow.
A note I have about your theory of Spyro traveling back in time: time travel is canon to Skylanders! Not only does it feature somewhat prominently in Trap Team, but Eruptor time travels in one of the installments of the Mask of Power series. Said book also has Eruptor being in two places at once because of time travel shenanigans, with it being a major hook at the beginning of the story.
You know, considering how much of an impact Legend of Spyro trilogy made for Skylanders both comics and Skylanders Academy to include Malefor into their universe I think Spyro more than deserves his own movie nowadays with Malefor as the main villian. I know all 3 Spyro universes are all different continuities, but I find it interesting that despite being different they take at least one element from its predecessor(Hunter in Dawn of the Dragon and Malefor in Skylanders comics and TV show) I feel like Spyro now has enough meat to try his own cinematic universe like Sonic. It would've been cool to see Ripto, Malefor and Kaos on big screens and presented as dangerous threats.
@portalmasterdragon7326 well, yeah, but still it was marketed as the story with Spyro and it also had a Spyro as actual character in Imaginators. Like, I agree, the world of Skylanders shouldn't be a part of Spyro's movies, but allies like Flynn, Cali, Tessa, Hugo, main villians like Kaos, Golden Queen, the Darkness and even smaller villians like Mesmeralda can work in Spyro movie if being reworked.
@@ashesGeek but they belong in skylanders just use Spyro friends from the PS1 games in the movies not the cast of skylanders what did you got that from CGE

aight, so, one thing I have to point out is I think mr. Rodriguez accidentally made a second fight with Malefor canon, though it doesn't hurt the canon in any way and tbh adds some more possible context, let me explain So the comic (and Rodriguez by extension) at first glance makes the assumption that Cynder was freed from Malefor's grasp before Hex defeated him , but that is literally impossible in lore as other bios for Cynder mention how she has defeated Malefor literal centuries before SSA and possibly before becoming a Skylander, and Swap Force seems to solidify this as they were pretty much an entire generation of Skylanders lost in the eruption of Mount Cloudbreak, and after that a new generation was assembled by Eon (the Core Skylanders we see, with the likes of Spyro, Gill Grunt and Trigger Happy being the first) What seems to me to be the most logical assumption here is that Hex battled Malefor *twice*, once centuries ago which she became known for and twice after becoming a Skylander and after Spyro got recruited and turned Cynder good. It honestly would make perfect sense since Malefor was genuinely still active even after Hex defeated him the first time, Cynder still proves that as she definitely isn't hundreds of years old, and it honestly aligns with the dialouge from the comic more as it now fixes the "Hex defeated Malefor years ago, we thought he was gone for good" line, so yeah, this is unconfirmed by any means but this is my honest assumption that genuinely just fixes any inconsistency within the canon related to Malefor also as a side note, cool fact, in the Sticker Book it's said that the marks on Cynder's forehead are the Mark of Undead, which was "granted" to her by Malefor's minions when he corrupted her edit: it's also entirely possible Spyro travelled back in time and was technically responsible for some big defeat of Malefor, we saw something similar with Eruptor in the Mask of Power books after all, where Eruptor was technically the one responsible for keeping the Nightmare Kind defeated, maybe Spyro somehow helped Hex during her first battle with Malefor centuries before she became a Skylander, maybe he helped at an even earlier point, not sure about that but it's definitely a possibility
Ok triyng tò help with the Spyro thing yes there are 2 Spyro but not in skylands in the Spyro franchise basically 3 of the Spyro games wich are called the Legends Trilogy focus on another Spyro that existed before the One of the og games and by extension the Spyro in skylanders and the Legend games Spyro fougth malephor with the cynder from those games and won meaning that probably malephor got the 2 mixed up
Skylanders having a "No Killing" rule is really funny when you consider that they have no problem in destroying robots (Arkus and Drill-X)
You can’t kill a robot. They just turned them off.
@@Kidwithacat1 They turned them off PERMANENTLY.
@ nah, maybe with mags help and some magic they could be turned back on again.

Malefor is basically the Skylander version of William Afton and a Sith Lord.
