- Come for a cruise around Dokki, a neighborhood in Giza that lies just across the Nile River from downtown Cairo. Filled with restaurants, shops, foreign embassies, commercial buildings and residential units, you'll see it all as we drive through her bustling streets on motorcycle.
Want to donate to the channel? You can buy me a shawarma! 😂 I recently discovered this website "buy me a coffee" exists and created an account, because, well, why not? I really just appreciate your support by watching my videos and I'm not asking you to donate, but, if you feel like it, now there's a place you can. Donations will probably just go to me making more street food videos. Here's the link: www.buymeacoff...

Okie Dokki, (sorry, couldn't resist) have another great weekend, and I hope your bike is behaving. Keep your wheelies to a minimum. 😉
🤣 Good one Filbert 😆
Yeah my bike is riding fine, it's just the traffic thing when it starts to act up. I still haven't taken it to anyone yet. I need to soon though. Have a great weekend man!
@@GventuresHopefully the tune-up will sort the bugs out for ya.
I'm French Egyptian but living in Canada now .. but u are making me want to come back home sooner 😊😊😊😊❤
Please can you show us Madi when you get a chance. These tours are nice because, most of the time regular tourists will not see some parts of this huge city.
Heheh. Yeah, actually already working on it! 😎
So good to find your latest video waiting for me on my laptop today, Gisselle!
You cheered up my day, and once again brought back happy memories of the Dokki neighbourhood!
A fabulous ride through the streets - you are so nimble and *so* *gutsy* !!
I screamed with laughter when you approached the lopsided bus at 16:02 - loving the language!!
Such a nice area around Al Mesaha Garden after 19:14 all the way to Al Galaa Square at 23:45 and beyond.
When you stopped by the Nile at 25:10 I don't think you were far from those nice riverside restaurants which you reviewed in a recent video.
Typical 'youngster' moves were the Wheelie at 34:58 and the biker at 39:11 who made me jump, but you didn't bat an eyelid!!
You did us proud once again, Gisselle. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into producing all your videos, including the all-important well-chosen soundtracks.
Mae alsalama!!
😀
Lol yeah that bus looked as if it was missing a wheel but still moving! 🤣
You are correct about the distance from the location of the Nile View restaurants video and where I was filming in this video, actually if you just crossed the small channel and went further up in Zamalek, you would reach them. That kid popping the wheelie 🤣 He definitely did that for the camera. I was happy he did though, made me laugh. Crazy kids.
Thank you so much for all your kind words and appreciation William, I'm really happy you enjoy them. I hope you have a beautiful day! 🥰
@@Gventures - Thank you so much, Gisselle.
The praise you receive from all your viewers is richly deserved. 😀
My goodness you're a pro! And your commentary is hilarious! Saw the thumbnail in the morning and I was like, yay!! Lol. Wonderful video thank you. Yup, Dokki is cool. With the shade and the trees and close access to the water. Beautiful. Oh yeah and when the crop is good, those guys are masters at cooking those sweet potatoes in the furnace. Stay safe brave woman. 😊
Mmmhmm, those sweet potatoes are heaven, especially in the winter on a cold day. Hot, smokey goodness, I love it! Thanks mozedition 🥰🙏
@@GventuresI miss Egypt I stay before in Cairo 1 month Radisson hotel
Nice tree lined streets easy on the eyes...great job Giselle..thanks
Yeah it's a pretty little island. Thanks Liz! ❤️
nice work basbousah, have fun!
Thank you very much for this wonderful look at the neighbourhood of my birth. I watched intently trying to remember my childhood and I wish my beloved parents were still around so that they could add nuance to the images. Regrettably I only remember hedges and tree lined streets, streets that were far less crowded. I remember my mother would take the to a local park and a bridge crossing the Nile river with statues of lions guarding each end of the bridge. My mother would tell me we lived n an area of el Dokki called el Mohandise ( The Engineers) in English. Those sponges you refer to are called Loufa, we use them during bathing. Thanks again for this wonderful video Geisel and please be careful driving.
Ah yeah, the Kasr Nil Bridge. It makes an appearance at around the 24 min 55. sec marker in this video
ruclips.net/video/Bbza6XK9q7s/видео.html
And straight ahead at 26 min 57 sec is a park, I wonder if that is the one she brought you to? As the bridge and this park are right next to each other.
I filmed inside the same park for the fseekh video. Maybe you will recognize it a little at 3 mins into the video, as I (very briefly) take a while through it ruclips.net/video/TBpM_-lZW5k/видео.html
You lived in Mohandessin! Ahh. That's different than Dokki, but it's very close, and I drove right by it in the video. If you look it up on google maps it will come up
@@Gventures thanks very much. I must do some research. I wonder why we didn’t go and look at our house and our neighbourhood when I was back there in 2010? If the government goes back to the old visa policies for Canadians and I still have my health,I think I will go back and see for myself. I think el Mohanasinen is a street in el Dokki, I am certain we lived in el Dokki or perhaps near the border with el mohandesen on the Dokki side? Very confusing. Thanks again for your help with this, looking forward to tomorrow’s video.
I really enjoy watching your videos around Cairo on your motorbike. I sold my car & do the same on my scooter. Have fun & stay safe. A lot of tourists watch your videos to learn something about the country before getting here. Good job..
Thank you so much krsofas! 🙏
I’m not a fan of long form Vids but definitely i can set watch these cruising around vids for hours😂
Keep it up Gisselle you killin it 🔥.
Now THAT'S a compliment, when you are enjoying something you normally would not. Thanks so much man! ❤️🙏🙏🙏
يا جميل يا رايق انت 😅❤
Once again, The Bravest Women I have seen riding a Motor Bike in Cairo! I hear Giza has an Airport now instead of flying into Cairo.
Yeah the Sphinx Airport ruclips.net/video/Mh1_cQBukEw/видео.html
Great idea, to see Cairo districts from motorbike. And it is so exciting, just go where your eyes take you.
Yeah I love riding around here! 😍
This was really interesting! I love places you show us, really beautiful 🥰 and can't wait Sunday for the next fun ❤
Thank you Vera! ❤️
I really enjoy looking at all the buildings and side streets with the little shops. The area with lots of trees shading the streets was lovely. Its like im on the back of the bike looking over your shoulder.
For the full experience i can even turn my fan on to my face as we go lol
Lol. This comment made me laugh. Glad I could take you along for the ride 😁😎
@@Gventuresfan has different speeds too lol
I love these videos, just following along through a day in the life. ❤
Thank you Tina 🥰
Guess this is your daytime Giza motorbike , from the other one at night time .. hehe. I have to say G , when I see you upload, I save it to watch it when I end my day and just relax to your video. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much LiriC19 🥰 I'm happy to hear they are a good way for you to unwind. I love riding here 😎
I loved this video most, because Dokki is my place of birth 😊, Ali Ibrahim hospital to be specific (Finni square) but they changed the name of the hospital 😅 thank you for the quick flashback ya Gisselle ❤❤❤❤❤
Going past the bakeries and the fruits and veggies are another thing that needs smellavision! I can tell when traffic annoys you by how much you swear at a given point in time. L O L this was a fun ride. One of the great things about RUclips is if I want to see something in detail, I can just hit pause. Went past a few automotive shopsand a classic VW beetle. I would’ve had to stop for food like three or four times with all the places that you showed in the video. My goodness. Looks like it’s a beautiful day for Shawarma!
Thank you Bob! Yeah I love Dokki, especially the little side streets and market areas. There's a lot happening, so much to see, and tons of great food spots (especially for shawarma) 😁
@@Gventures looks like a place with lots of energy for sure! How many people were sitting only on the left side of that bus? I’m craving some Shawarma right now.
I was hanging in there on the back, enjoying myself - I stayed in Dokki for two weeks and it brought back really happy memories! Can we go for a shawarma now? Thanks for the ride, it was great - nice one Giselle! 😎
"Hanging in there on the back" 🤣❤️❤️❤️ Thank you Lesley, happy to take you along for the ride 😎 I could always go for more shawarma! For me, it never gets old to film and sho. Glad to see it doesn't get old to watch for you either
Great drive through Dokki, it’s a beautiful area.
Yes it is ❤️
Hi Gisselle. I'll be staying in an Airbnb next month in AlDoqi. Thanks for this video. X
Nice! Dokki is great, enjoy your stay there! ❤️
The lopsided bus 🤣
I live HERE XD ,,, thx good filming
Dokki
Is a nice area?
Starts near Cairo University and the Orman Botanical Garden.
There is a nice street called Al Messaha Street
Giselle did you hear about Lina Khan?
The Youngest FTC chair
if you are going for nasr city try Abbas Al Akkad street it full of local,Syrian ,american ..food restaurants and child's park , naguib mahfouz park and the international park close to the street . try Unknown Soldier Memorial at el nasr road where favorite president Anwar El-sadat is buried there .
Thanks for all the suggestions! I don't know anything about Nasr city, so this is helpful. I've noted them down for when I go to Nasr City and film the area, I appreciate it! 🙏
Your commentary is hilarious 😂
😅 Half the time I am just rambling and don't know what I am saying 😆
you doing a great job
شكرا 🙏
nice to see something uplifting we are digging out from Hurricane Helene here in North Carolina
My brother lives in North Carolina! Were you guys hit hard? How is everything
@@Gventures we live just west of charlotte no power for a couple of days lots of trees and limbs down but that was nothing compared to mtn region further west it was devastated towns and road washed away in many places will be months if not years to rebuild some areas where your brother live? we are asking for prayers regardless of religious affiliation...........
@@alanhodge984 Wow, that's terrible. I don't really watch the news, I didn't even know it hit around that area. My brother lives in Raleigh. Sending positive vibes and prayers your way....
@@Gventures thanks raleigh is ok is east of storm path keep the videos coming they are nice to see in troubled times.
love
Such a wonderful round trip sweetie! Thanks a million.would it be possible video in Nasr City?❤😊
Lol oh boy, the requests are coming in! Maadi, Madinaty, Zayed, October...but yeah I'll add Nasr City to the growing list! At least Nasr City isn't that far. And I actually haven't explored much of Nasr City, so it would be interesting. Are you from the area, or...?
Sweetie I'm a Spanish girl who misses Cairo so much.Nasr city is beatiful. You can see "The International Park"and a famous street with many shops of abayas and wedding dresses.I value your channel so much!Hugs Queen!
Awesome vid. I❤Dokky and Mohandseen..in general Giza is better than Cairo. !!
Loving these motorcycle videos.
I hear alot about heavy police presence and "checkpoints". What do they check? As a tourist, do I need to carry all my I.D. on me at all times? Do I need to carry my passport, or us maybe my wallet and U.S. drivers license enough?
Thanks George!
There is a heavy police and military police presence here, it's true. But you usually only encounter checkpoints when traveling between cities. Are you planning to drive here, make any road trips? If not, I wouldn't worry about it. At tourist sites for example, they will never ask for any identification. I always carry my passport on me, but I rarely need it. Just for checking into hotels, or if you are traveling to different cities. If you are traveling to different cities with Go Bus or a driver, or maybe far out sites like Saqqara and Darshur, bring the passport.
I'm familiar with all of those roads, and it's still nice seeing them through your lens. Can I know the make / model of your bike?
Thanks! Yeah it's a Benelli VLR Sport 200cc
no way never thought i would see my place in one of ur videos haha In 37:00 xD
Oh you live right there? Niiiice. Al Dahan is good, I used to go there a lot. Busy street
@@Gventures yep : ) same here love their Kofta and pasta. ye its so noisy drives me crazy sometimes thats why i am moving to zayed.
@@Mo.khalil90 Oh wow. Well congrats on the move! I love being close to the action, but I guess I'm not from here so it's different for me
I enjoy your videos, how is the environment right now in Egypt with all the craziness going on, do you think is safe to travel to Egypt now? Thanks
Yes it's safe. But watch my video that is coming out later today, because I talk about safety in Egypt in that video
Driving in Cairo/ Giza is a mess, a big headache. I can not drive for 10 minutes in
these crowded streets.
Lol. If I had a car I would feel the same way. But I love riding my motorcycle around the cities, it's a lot of fun (most times)
Hey Giselle do u have some friends there with small children? If yes I would like to give you a video suggestion. Places to go with small children (inside playgrounds, parks etc) or family friendly budget hostels. I'm sure there is also families who would like to get some advises for those things 😊 specifically from side of local families and what they do prefer.
Video in Dokki put me really back on time when I used to live there,in Thran Square.
I know gezira sporting club needs year or full lifetime membership even it is nice but not maybe ideal or possible for tourists?
I actually don't have any friends with kids. That is a subject I know zero about. I had that idea though of making a video "What to do in Cairo with kids" or something like that. I wrote it down in my list, and maybe sometime I will begin to research what there actually is to do for them. But that might not happen for a long time, because I really have zero clue about kids.
Not sure about Gezira sporting club either, other than the fact it exists 😅 Thanks for the suggestion though, it has crossed my mind and may make an appearance in the future, if/when I have enough information about it.
#biG_wOw...
Pretty much all my RUclips watch time goes to your videos
Lol wow.....I'm honored! I guess I'm doing something right 😅 Thanks so much Mahmoud! 🙏🙏🙏
When are you going to go to 6th of October? Maybe Mall of Egypt?
I've never been allowed to film inside the malls in Egypt, and I've tried several. But eventually I will film 6th October 🙂
Is their any motorbike theft their ? Or do you not worry about your bike much ?
Lol oh yeah that is something you gotta watch out for. But I have an apple airtag on my bike, and a handlebar lock which I use if I am going to be leaving my bike for long periods of time.
Can make a tour Madinaty new Cairo ?
Eventually I will. But it is far from me. I plan to film the satellite cities later
I love you very much and I wish to go with you to America I am from Egypt can you help me
Please tell me where we can easily exchange us doller to egp in the airport or in the cities ? Please tell me where
Anywhere. Easily. You can exchange at the airport, or in the city, at an exchange office or at any bank. If you want to exchange in the airport just ask airport staff, if you want to exchange in the city just ask your hotel staff
Are there tattoo shops in Cairo?
Yeah for sure, if you google them they will come up. There are also people on IG you can find that tattoo in Cairo. I got 2 tattoos when I first arrived in the country
October and Zayed please
Hmm. Eventually I plan to film the expensive and far flung satellite cities such as New Cairo, 6th of October and Sheikh Zayed. But not anytime soon, as it takes some time to drive to those places. But eventually I most certainly will 👍
ممكن تساعدينى فى شغل ❤❤❤
No? I don't find people jobs, I just make videos...
