According to the Bosch product webpage, The GA50DC is not compatible with your grinder GWS8-45 0:29. Maybe that's why the grinding wheel is grinding up the plastic part.

thank you for the info, I checked it out and your right it isn't compatible. however it did work. i'll try it out on a listed compatible grinder and see if there's a difference. good catch and thanks for watching!

@@hammerandhome EDITED: I just bought this guard and a Bosch GWS13-50 grinder which is listed as compatible. The interface of the metal connector to the grinder is solid, but like you mentioned, the plastic in between the bigger housing that holds the wheels wobbles, so likely my plastic will also get cut up. Not sure how Bosch missed this in product testing.

@@lawnica1 they didn't. It was never intended to be used with the machine you have...

I think I know your problem here. You need to put 2 washers that came along with the dust extractors. It's about 5 mm thick and locks into place to keep the blade in the center of the slot. Without the washer your blade is too close to the edges.

Thanks for the video and the warning about the plastic. The metal tuckpointing guard Bosch TG502 might be a better choice in comparison to the plastic GA50DC. Except the TG502 will not fit GWS8-45, GWS9-45, and GWS18 V-45. Seems like the blade is cutting into the metal baseplate 5:39.

Bosch is pretty good with their vacuum attachments but, like you said, it's hard to attach other brands and in a some cases even their own hoses don't fit. That particular attachment would be great for tuck pointers if not for that flex.

This is akward position, you could rotate body with swich against grinder's head. Just unscrew 4 screws holding head

You haven't connected it correctly. The shroud should mount tightly on the guard mounting flange, and lock into place with a rotation. The auxiliary handle simply stops the shroud from rotating back off. The shroud is primarily held on by the guard mounting flange and not the auxiliary handle. As another comment said, your grinder may not be compatible with this shroud.

Yeah, actually what I learned after this video is that it’s the wrong model of grinder. It still works but not as good as it should.
