It's great that we can see how are made things like this. Its shows as that the shoemaker is not just an simple craftsman, but a real artist! It would seem its are just a shoes, but its created like a work of art. I didn't realize how much talent, knowledge and precision it requires.
Absolutely incredible, I am blown away at how perfect and precise every single step was executed with. A dieing art being brought back to life, keep up the great work please!
I never really think about what goes into making something until I see it done. I don’t know why, but watching these talented fellas make shoes by hand has become one of my favorite relaxation activities. 👍💪💙
Another great job. I hope the wearer of those shoes treats them with great care. My mother in law who will be 90 made men shoes in a factory under the Colehan brand. She would talk about the different steps it would take to make 1 pair of shoes. It is great to see the process she talked about. Thank you for your dedication and sharing this video with all of us who watch them.
What I absolutely love about this, is that there is absolutely no theatrics, histrionics or overanimations. The whole video from start to finish is purely the actual content you click to see, the skill involved keeps you watching, there’s a video on here of a ‘traditional wet shave’ and you’d honestly think he’s auditioning for a Hollywood part in a movie, his actual skill is overshadowed by the ridiculous over acting and you lose interest. Absolutely love the skill here mr Kim, if I was a shoe wearing person I’d be getting in touch! Absolutely incredible work 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🥳
Thank you for the comment. Actually, I'm not a big fan of videos that insert sad piano background music. However, it seems like many people like that style of video. I personally believe that the natural sounds that occur during the work process are the best music. It's not easy to convey what I want to the viewers while working and filming alone, but I'll do my best. Thanks again for your comment.
@@TerryKimShoemaker you’ve got it absolutely perfect for me mate, as I said, your skills do the talking, there’s no need for the BS commentary on some of the videos, or the endless plugging of their sponsors halfway through the video, don’t change a thing my friend, if it ain’t broke…. 👌🏻
I'm happy that the customer asked for rubber sole protectors. It would be a shame for the shoe to wear out prematurely just because someone wanted to use them.
I agree. I use them on all my leather soled shoes. It really extends the life of the sole and makes them more practical while not sacrificing the nice look of the leather.
@Terry Kim's Shoe Making I've been learning so much about the process just by watching! I have some questions: how did you develop your skills? Were you formally trained or self-taught? How long did it take?
I told my wife that when we go to Korea this summer, I want to stop by Seongdong-gu to maybe get bespoke shoes for my wide feet. And now I see your video and it makes me want to visit your shop. How long from finished last to delivery? We will be in Korea six weeks but visit every year so if I have to, I can wait to pick up depending on your lead times.
Out of all the bespoke videos that I’ve seen on RUclips, his technique is completely different from all the other videos, but surprisingly more interesting because the method is different doesn’t mean it’s wrong but how he does step to step compared to a factory or even a private shoemaker is different than any of the other videos that I’ve seen
I have watched quite a few shoe makers and the quality of the shoes that you make are so much greater. I bet that your shoes will last atleast 10x longer than the other shoe makers ❤
I currently make leather crafts as hobby and have a couple of tools with which I made some bags and wallets. Can I ask you where you took from your shoes forms(lasts) because I want to try to make my own shoes because you man just inspired me. You are an amazing artist and craftsman.
