Scored 50 once the whole season. That 12-10 victory over unranked Tennessee at home and 26-21 narrow victory over unranked Auburn sure screams best season ever.
@Daquanking Greg McElroy was what Bear Bryant called a tweener. Not a great nor a bad player, but a player who would play his guts out and give his all for the team.
@@andrewe165 John Parker Wilson too. John Parker played the bravest game I ever saw. Alabama COULD NOT BLOCK Tennessee one year. Wilson took the hardest hits in that game I ever saw a quarterback take and he just kept getting up for the next play. I've always had great respect for him.
It's amazing just how different this team looks compared to the 2011 and 2012 teams. I've gotten so used to watching the McCarron/Lacy/Yeldon/Cooper/Bell/Norwood weekly offensive exhibition that watching this offense now is frustrating! Still, gotta love the ol' 2009 grind-it-out-every-week team!
Watching Tua's offense was frustrating. Deep passes for touchdowns nearly every possession. No running game. No time for the defense to rest on the sidelines. Very unbalanced offense. I love Tua, dont get me wrong, but I don't like that style.
This game was definitely closer than the score. Can't believe Tyrod Taylor called a timeout in each of Virginia Tech's first two possesions of the game . Beamer's OC then was pathetic. Frank left a lot of games like this on the field, but was too stubborn to change. Hats off to Bama and Saban though. They have been solid since this 2009 season.
Hokie here and I have to say this game was a lot of fun to be at. I would love to have won but my Hokies played a great game I think. Not a BAMA hater at all much respect for them for a long time.
Possibly going to be in the Georgia dome for this years game! Alabama is going to be good again this year, but I'm hoping the Hokies will show up ready to play with there new offense! GO HOKIES!!
really? I was there.....2009, I remember it like yesterday. Alabama was just becoming great that year. Now they're like the New England Patriots. I'm a fan since I'm from New England but if any team wins so much you get bored.
Agreed coming from a bama fan. Not impressed with the offense line. But we have to expect this from a inexperienced group. Hopefully Saban will get those boys ready for Aggies next week. I'm not too worried about the Aggies defense they sucked against Rice. But just worried about stopping Johnny Football and hope he causes a distraction for his team.
I hate to tell you, but that's false. It wasn't all Loeffler's fault, but AU had had top-notch recruiting for a few years before Loeffler arrived. Chizik gets a lot of blame, but Scot's playcalling was always bizzare. He would abandon the run very quickly. The offense lacked an identity because he didn't know what he wanted to do.
Hightower was injured in the sec opening that year, 3 weeks after this. :( McClain could've been thrown out of this game. He was fortunate there was no ejection. That 2nd flag on him was the equivalent to a technical foul in basketball.
This game was so much closer than 10 points. Really a fun one to watch.
The start of the journey to perfection.Alabama 2009 greatest season ever, yeah you heard me 2019 LSWHO.

@@andrewe165 He'll yeah Jake won that Natty too.I was so happy for him finally getting the championship.

Arundodonax lol Tua has made this comment obsolete 😂

They were solid in 2008 also.
I had forgotten how close this game was. VT's defense was nasty.
Man, VT played so good that season..
They were 10-3. Never have been elite.
So did Bama...this was a good game
Remember that Virginia Tech finished the season ranked 10th. They handily beat Tennessee in the Chick filA bowl.
All of their 3 losses were close.
I am a totally Alabama crimson tide fan but I am a fan of Virginia tech hokies 2 straight facts

The Journey to Pasadena
AJ on the sideline looks like he's about 13 years old.
A trick : watch series on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Jason Leandro yup, I have been watching on Flixzone} for since december myself :)
and i just wanted to point one more thing out.. VT had Ryan Williams and David Wilson and yet somehow Josh Oglesby manages to touch the field........
What’s amazing is this would be considered a defensive slugfest today.

Charlie Dallachie no offense, man, but I’m not sure what your response has to do with my comment
It was the first three quarters

Lol @10:45 Julio was wide open for the 1st down or more.
the 09 and 11 teams are my favorite teams out of the 3 champions
I wonder if not calling that would have changed the outcome of the game?
Don't think so.
Dyrell Roberts should have Got called for a facemask penalty on that punt return. When he stiff armed he grabbed the facemask. facemask.@23:59
Upchurch made the game look grimm. He was blasting people.
It’s not a face mask, I think it should be but it’s not
Scot Loeffler didn't have a single playmaker on that Auburn offense.
1:56:23, I think it’s safe to say, this VT is a tide bit upset 😂🤣😅

BAMA still wins no matter what. I love VT and know that. LOL
should be another good game this year! go Hokies!
If Ryan Williams gets more carries than he did this game goes down to the wire

Oh how the turn tables for Virginia Tech :(
Bullshit. Auburn's been pulling in top recruiting classes for the past 4 years straight, the coaches just pissed it all away
and hopefully more :)
I agree... and I'm a Bama fan
Bama should have never won this game. So sad.

1:59:10...it was his hotdog......
Bama owns DonV310
1:56:22...someone brought him a hotdog with mayo.....Roll Tide!!!!!!
The personal foul call at 28 minutes was crap.
Teams going in opposite directions.
Bama did everything to lose this game.
Cam was shit in college and he is the same in the national felons league #ROLLTIDE..................
