An almost forgotten gem that deserves much more attention and praise than it gets. Even if it's a typical Julia Roberts script. Still powerful.
"Even if"? Talk about, "damn with faint praise and assent with civil leer". She chooses her films really well and delivers great value for money. Please give her respect for that at least.

I’m already crying remembering every exchange between them “Dying Young” was and will always be a must for everyone who must deal with a young person with dreams full of life preparing to die. Another is “ Wild Heart” just because they are dying doesn’t mean they can’t like if only for that day.
Oh, Lord I don’t know if you all heart of the young woman/girl who collapsed on the field on her Graduation day, May 23,2024. Hee heart was failing. Her mother knew it was going to happen- she pleaded to be allowed to walk on that stage, just to be able to graduate with her classmates. Her mother cancelled the ambulance, she received her diploma and landed in the hospital later and died on 6/12/2024 . The heart she had received in a transplant simply failed due to the disease. Both of these two women knew what dying young and living one day meant

Might be but she was a transplant patient and the disease that destroyed her heart destroyed this heart and she was rejecting it. The mother - she was listed in IG - knew and let her daughter live one more day. She got her diploma and was transported to the hospital to die days later- find the group Died Suddenly- they got upset when I asked “ isn’t that the little girl , that had the heart transplant and was rejecting it. Her mom knew “ they got upset but if you’re going g to blame excess deaths on big pharma and our leaders , you must have transparency and the truth. I forgot her name- she was biracial Black and Asian/Oriental- possibly Philippine- mom was amazing. I would have been a mess watching her on that stage, after collapsing in the crowd
This was a wonderful movie. I had the soundtrack to it. The movie is dying young and she helps him live to the fullest before he dies. Tear jerker.
They have made so many movies with this same plot after this and I can’t say I’m too mad about it but now I wanna see this one

I'm considering watching it but I'm quite sensitive to taking endings with me into the day, so before Indeside, I have to know, do they both survive?
I can handle a lot of heartbrake along the way, but a unhappy ending (even made to be happy because he's at peace now) ruïn my week

@@andrewkitchenuk I agree Andrew every role she plays is the same. Her and George Clooney both are one note actors. Add Cam Diaz to that group as well. The only really good actress I can think of is Meryl Streep. And Michael Keaton as and Robert Downey Jr are amazing actors.

One of the best most heartbreaking movies ever.
Not as impactful now since they have a way to control the disease and prolong patients’lives. But back then they fell like flies bcz of it and movies about HIV were made left and right. Thank God for evolution 😊

@maiamckinney4180 I had a girlfriend who was raised literally just around the corner of international Blvd. Like a few houses down. Also, oakland has seen a 28% increase in violent crimes in the last 2 years. It's also th 18th most dangerous city in the US.

Oh. He was so rude to her. But when she said she didn’t need him. HE ended up needing her?!? WOW! Cuz he was dying??? Really? U got to be kidding me. Did she take the job??? Cuz he was terrible to her?! I would have told him kiss my butt! How rude. You gain more bees with honey then u do with vinegar. And if you need someone’s help it’s best to be kind towards them and do abuse them. His attitude is certainly uncalled for.

Yes. Dying young. I saw it in the theater. After the movie there were about 20 women in the bathroom wiping mascara streaked tears from their faces, including me. Powerful film.

As someone in healthcare she wasn't qualified for this job and should have walked away. I saw this movie and it's more fantasy and romance then reality. Alot like her first movie with Richard Gere. I really didn't like this movie at all.
That's why it wasn't labeled a documentary. You do know that Top Gun and Casablanca are more fantasy and romance than reality, right? Same concept for most movies, for entertainment purposes only.

Idk if that’s true I’m not a certified healthcare worker but I take care of a 91 year old woman. I have first aid cpr training and that was all I needed. I don’t think companion care really requires that much in the way of training.
@@queentargaryen9389 I'm guessing if something of a serious medical problem comes up you have a protocol in place for what to do and who to call. I know healthcare laws vary from state to state and also in different countries.
@@karenmonson9893 we just call 911. Her heart stopped last year and the person working that day gave cpr and called 911 they handled the rest. Of course we call her power of attorney and notify her as well.
