The song is about two cannibals that met online and ate a 3rd guest. Mein teil means "it is my member or it is my part. The song is based on true story. The bands name pronounced (RAHM STINE) RAMSTEIN are from Ramstein Germany

you know meanwhile that the song is about the true cannibalism case in 2001 in Germany. Armin Meiwes had written the text at the beginning in a sexforum for very special fetishs (darknet). He founded the volunteer victim Brandes. Brandes wants to get eaten, but wants before eat together with Meiwes his own penis (a shy guy says in German insteat of penis part). So they did.
Mein Teil is not the only song of Rammstein which ist based on a true, disturbing case or happening.

The text at the beginning of the song was the original classified advertisment in a newspaper where the Cannibal of Rotenburg searched for a young man to eat.
One man replied to the ad, they met and the young man was eaten by the cannibal Armin Meiwes.
Rammstein are playing often with the many double meanings that an expression or a word can have in the German language.
Mein Teil can simply mean my part. But it can also mean "My P*nis".
The funny dancing keyboard guy, who is cooked in the pot on the stage and was running around with fire coming out of him is called "Flake". Flake is the funny and weird and out of role guy in the band. He is allways the side kick and is r*aped, burned, eaten, beaten...and he is doing always some weird, childish stuff on the stage to lighten up the whole dark show of Rammstein a little. He is acting always deliberately silly, weird and childish.

and the weirdest thing is, that the victim allegedly still was alive and also took part in the eating (at least that's what the cannibal armin meiwes claimed). that's why they sing about him (the victim) almost loosing consciousness while eating and so on.

Rammstein es impresionante es muchos aspectos, sus letras son crudas pero muy poéticas, llenas de doble sentido, juegos de palabras, metáforas. Sus tópicos son amor, en todos los sentidos, desde lo más crudo hasta lo más dulce (pocas veces sí). En vivo, ellos son lo mejor de lo mejor, usan mucho fuego y pirotecnia en base a lo que la canción significa, por eso todos los efectos, son diferentes, deben reaccionar a más de ellos, no se arrepentirán. Rammstein perform many entertaining, audacious and bizarre live performances. They have a unique style of industrial metal which mixes heavy metal with other genres. Well worth reacting to more of their live performances. They are also trained and certified pairotechnics! 🔥🔥🔥
That was cool. I've never seen them live before. I actually don't know these guys that well. I know that one super hit that have "Du Hast," but that's it. That was good recommendation.
@Fahim Ahmad tbh Sonne is one of their less profound songs. It was intended as a walk in song for a Ukrainian/German boxer, hence the ten-count, talk about throwing hands, loss of balance, hitting the ground.
Then again, changing the lyrics after not coming to terms with the boxer('s management) + the snow white video added meaning to it)

One Rammstein member (I don't remember wich one exactly) said once that this case (Armin Meiwes was famous cannibal case in Germany in the early 2000) was so bizarre that they have to make a Song about it. Rammstein is by the way we'll known for songmaking that shocks the People on purpose other good examples are Zwitter or Mann gegen Mann.

I've never been into rammstein except for 1 or 2 songs, but I know that all band members are also profesionnal pyrotechnicians, that's why there are all kind of fireworks at their shows, also read that it takes 2 days to set the whole stage up
If you read about the case at Wikipedia, the no in the song refers to the german judge and law because Armin Meiwes said his victim agreed to be eaten alive and the judge said no, cannibalism isn't legal even if the victim agreed to it.

The song is about Armin Meiwes, now also known as "the cannibal of Rothenburg". He was looking for a young man to be butchered and eaten by him under the username "Master Butcher" in the Darknet in 2000 - and he found a willing victim. They met up, he got his victim drunk, then they chopped off the victim's little friend and tried to eat it before he suffocated the victim, dismembered him and cooked and ate a part of him (hence "Mein Teil" - my part). Meiwes later was convicted for second degree murder, declared insane, and put into a mental asylum.
Armin, then, had this man over for dinner.
When i was in Los Angeles, I saw two think: live rammstein concert and homeless) love this place, so hard to telling about this.
I love how Till Lindemann (the lead singer) is actually a licensed pyrotechnician. The man is dedicated to his craft and is a genius.

This is my top favourite live of theirs. I also love Ich Tu Dir Weh and Engel live at Madison Square Gardens, and Du Hast live in Paris :'). I love the fact you understood the lyrics though, it made your reaction priceless at the start 😂😂💖

As people said, song is based on real life crime that one guy placed ad in newspaper for person to eat (it was before internet) and basically song is about that case. Also Teil Lindenman is professional pyrotechnic technican and I dunno if I ever seen any Rammstein event without any fire.... ever.

No, that is incorrect, unless you are conveying it phonetically odd. You pronounce the "i", the second vowel in German words usually. "SpiEgel" "steIn". Unless that's what you were trying to say (stain written like that in English sounds like propane or great "dane" so it looks like you're pronouncing it wrong.) The "stein" part of Rammstein should rhyme with time or .. lime.

Mein Teil means my part. The song is about a cannibal that lived in Germany and that put up an add for someone between the age of 18 and 30 yeras that would like to be killed and eaten. And someone did actually answer to it and got killed and eaten by his free will.

This song was my intro to Rammstein as well, and since then I've fallen in love with them. I listen to them all the time. I do love this song, but they have better ones, like by far lol. Songs like Ich Will, deutschland (amazing music video), Engal (watch the Madison Square Garden live one), feuer frei (one of my favorite guitar riffs), Buck Dich (Another weird one, the one live version was very controversial here in the US), Rammlied, and the one that most people know is Du Hast. This is just some off the top of my head, but there are many more lol.

The chef said both, he and his victim, were very dissappointed because they couldn't eat the weener. It was chewy like rubber, they put it in the pan too early. He also said that both were in a peaceful & loveley relationship and respected each other a lot. While the victim bled out the chef was worrieng all the time. He put the victim in a bath tube because he was frowning. In the bath tube he fell asleep but woke up after a few minutes. The chef then put his victim to bed and gave him a lot of blankets to warm him up. After the victim died the chef cut him into pieces and put him in the freezer for later dinners. The chef regrets the murder. He said that it was everything but not as he saw it in his mind. He also said that fantasy won't become reality. He missed that point before he was looking for a victim. He and his victim felt sorry for their fantasy didn't become reality. That's a very sad story. Care about your children and give them maximum love.

One thing you should realise about Rammstein: Do NOT take them seriously. They are very tongue in cheeck. It doesn't always come across as that, because they're German, and everyone knows Germans don't have a sense of humor (they do, it's just very deadpan).
