Dude this is your first video? You crushed it, the animations and Nikon history as well as some of the scene transitions were incredible! You should be so proud, definitely earned a subscription and I can’t wait to see kore if your awesome content. The F2 was my first camera and I found it in the top of my dads closet, 4 years later and I’m a professional photographer! I share the love of the f2 and still use it regularly!
I was gifted an F2 by my eldest sister. The prism's lightmeter was inop, so I got a dp1 off ebay. It's my most prized possession. Even if it has a few scuffs and dings... kinda like me lol
You did great on your first video. You managed to capture my attention all the way. I started with the Nikon F and was happy with it. Last year, I bought an F2 online and had it sent out for a CLA. It works great and provides reliability and quality. Since so many were manufactured, parts, accessories and lenses are easy to come by and affordable.
Great first video. Well presented. Love your attitude to the creative spirit. To quote from the film `Dead poet's society'........Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.
Great fist video! Keep them coming :) I own an F2 Titan with a (non-metered) DE-1 Prism. My favorite mechanical SLR by far. Also, the most beautiful IMO.
This is such a great video that deserves more attention! I love the all the graphics and how you explained everything so simply and articulately! Really hoping to see more of your work!
The beauty of the F2 is that you can use all of the non-ai lenses which are wonderful lenses and reasonably priced. I highly recommend the 20mm f3.6, 35mm f2.8 and the famous 105mm f2.5. The beauty of all of their lenses is they take the same filter size 52mm. Have fun. It is truly a wonderful camera
Very nice video. I inherited my father’s old Nikon F when he passed away in 2008. A great camera. After I saw him buy it in 1978 I was hooked on Nikons. At the time I was a student and could only afford a FM Nikon which has severed me well. Recently I have bought a lovely F2A which is a super camera. More polished than the F, I am looking forward to putting a few films through it.
Great presentation. I still have my F2 from 1972. Took it all over Germany. I bought additional bodies and light meters. I'll take it out again some day.
Super cool video, great editing and animation and really lovely B-roll, liked the personal touch with your experience with the camera in your family too. Great stuff 👏
Before I watched this, I had purchased a F2. Seeing this has built confidence in my decision. Your bias on this camera is actually helpful because you grew up with the camera and know its history and can demonstrate that it still functions fully. I appreciate the work you put into this.
i was on the fence between F2 and F3. Ended up buying the F3 because it was $100 cheaper on ebay for near mint condition. Definately buying the F2 when I get the chance.
I relate to your connection w/ this camera. I discovered film on my gramps F2AS while I asked for an F3HP then I got my own F4E and I was hooked Still have it.
Great first video! The F2 is an amazing camera - loved how you went through Nikon’s history and the creation of the F lineup :) Can’t wait to see more videos from you!
Good evening. I first got My First Nikon SLR After much saving money and, learning the Art of Photography on Manual Cameras when I was 19 years old. Now, in this Autofocus/ Digital World we live in. I still have My Trusty Old Nikon FM2N and several Nikon Nikkor Prime Lenses. I have tried Digital however, i still Love Film and Manual Cameras FM2N FE2 F3. I'm in My 70 th year with health issues but if was starting out again......I Would definitely recommend Nikon. Best Brand by far IMO. Who knows? I may with My Dear Wife's permission Purchase The Nikon F2 .Many thanks and Kind regards Colyn.
My friend let me shoot on his F2 once, everything felt like it was in the right place. Didn’t take long for it to feel like an extension of my arm vs a camera im holding
Lovely piece. I have an F, with the F2 arriving tomorrow. So excited! Looks like the shutter release button is better sited on the F2, it’s slightly too far back and relatively inaccessible sandwiched between the winder and the shutter dial on the F.
Great video, I've been making photos for a few years and I'm starting to explore film photography, got a Pentax K1000 and it feels great! Mechanical cameras make me feel comfortable by not depending on the battery to work properly, I'll get one of these soon. Greetings from México!
Great video. You could’ve said it was your tenth and I would’ve still said it was great. I have the F and the F3. F3 wins it for me - though I’d love to try an F2. It’s been 3 months since this video. Hopefully you’ve got another one coming. 👍🏼
F2 was the ultimate slr.. Mechanical, shutter speeds from 10seconds to 1,2000. Yup the self timer could be used for longer than 1 second exposures.. Took me a while to accept the f3 another epic slr.. The original F was a tank..
I got a Nikon F2 black body and it got the 2 parts motor drives and the exposure meter that fit on the left side of the camera and I need to buy a exposure meter head for it and get the camera repaired and I paid £10.00 for all of them from a camera shop in London in 2023 and when I get the camera repaired it will be valued from £300 to as much as £500
no offence intended: the nikkor 43-86mm lens, during the active days of film photography, was considered by some self proclaimed experts to be one of nikon's worst lenses. it is all a matter of opinion, however. i too had the 43-86mm and very much liked it.
It wasn't built 'specifically' for professional use, it doesn't mean pros don't or can't use it. Likewise most f2 shooters aren't pros. Don't get hung up on the terminology 😉
@@NikonFM2n it's certainly an extremely capable platform for your use case! I use an f2 but it's only because it fits my hands a bit better than the smaller form of the fm fe series. Mechanical does seem like the way to go for long term reliability. Enjoy your great Nikon!
FM versions' viewfinder light meter display consists of red lights showing over or under exposure, but not by degree (as a needle would show by degree).
I got one of these Nikon F2 cameras my one is a black body and I got the Nikon MD 1 Motor drive and the Nikon MB1 motor drive attachment and the Nikon DS1 expousre meter and the camera need to be repaired and I also need to get a Meter HEAD for it and I only paid £10.00 for it from a friend of mine
I have 6 F2 cameras. I owe my college education to Nikon, Royal typewriters and willing newspaper editors. I SOLD my Leica to buy my first F2's and have no regrets.
I am a reformed and retired criminal; back in 1972 me and my gang hijacked a cargo truck out of Heathrow Airport filled to the brim with Nikon F2s, we made a killing selling them for half their retail value; I kept one for myself which I have proudly displayed on my mantle-piece ever since.
Nikon of course will not say what the correct pronunciation of Nikon Americans say Nighkon. Interesting as the letter ' i ' is in lower caseon the camera and not in upper case ' I ' Therefore in English it is pronounced Nickon Not Nighkon But then Americans do not speak english , but American. The name was originally derived from the names Zeiss Ikon and Nippon.
so, by your reasoning, 'Ikon' is pronounced as 'eye-kon' because the 'i' is upper case, but altthough the name 'nikon' comes from combo 'Ikon' and 'Nippon' we are to pronounce 'Nikon' as 'Ni kon' because the second letter in 'Nikon' is not capitalised and despite 'Ikon' being pronounced 'eye kon' -admittedly, i find your reasoning to be inconsistent.

Agreed, absolutely amazing.

Watching from the Philippines. 🇵🇭 I love the aesthetic of this video. Well-taught of.
My father bought an F2as in 1978. Never repaired it, meter doesn't work any more, but still a joy to use to this day.
Perhaps you could get it repaired or even buy a replacement meter?

Totally agree. Bought my F2 in 1972. it has the non-metered DP2. Still going well
wow... first video but it feels like you are in YT making videos for years! such an amazing video
I'm so incredibly proud of you! :]
I love my Nikon F4 and just ordered the F2. Wanted one for ages and so excited for it to arrive!

Fantastic video-thanks. I have the f and f2 and they are 2 of my favorites. Can't believe it's your first video-congrats and many thanks.
This video made me subscribe to your channel. I am your 250th subscriber. 🤘🏻 PH REPRESENT 🇵🇭
Excellent review of my favorite camera. Good luck with your channel!
This is insanely well made, man. The B-roll, the info, everything is just fantastic. Well done!
The top shelf with all the trimmings, an example of the art of design and technical engineering, plus it's the coolest cam in the multiverse.

Dan Flores that camera is so sleek!
You come across as a really good guy. Good luck with your channel. I agree 100% with the assessment of the F2. My F2SB is still my favourite SLR.
Thanks for sharing. You had me when you mentioned your grandad! Kudos my man. I have an F2, DP1 with a 35mm f/2 for street photography.

Yo, this is so good! I made an F2 video for my channel too and I’m so pumped that this video got pushed into my suggested feed.

Great video! The camera looks amazing and I love the shots you showed.
I just bought mines and it really has motivated me to shoot more. So this camera really may be the best camera ever built.
First video! Woah. Good job(:
Really cool video man, well done
I really hope I will find one in a recent future ! Thanks for the video, it's a really good first attempt !!! I love it :)
Great video! I'm scouring eBay now...
Very nice, thanks!
Wonderful! Just subscribed, keep the creativity alive!
It's one of my favorites as well. I have three of them along with two F models.
Great video, make more !!!
Dude, amazing video... make more!!! So refreshing to watch

Man. Awesome video. Also my favorite SLR. Much prefer it over the F3. I’ve got it in black with the non metered D-1 prism.
I hope to see more in the future of your reviews.
Just found this video! I just posted my F2 video and this is like 10 times better haha. Subscribed and can’t wait for more!

just got mine sent from japan! If you make a video of hacks, tips and tricks for the f2 I and many others would probably watch!
Great editing!
This video is cool, love it
Excellent video. I have an f1 and f3. I like the f2 the best. Hoping to someday get the f2 titan.
Love your work !!!
Nicely done.
Awesome video. I stole my dads F2 and I’m finally going to give it a try!
this video is really good, keep it up!
BTW Love the name - Exposure therapy.
Nice video. Please continue :)
Love this camera, it IS built like a tank- minus the Canon lol 😆

In my opinion the best all-purpose lens is the Nikkor 43-86 f3.5 zoom; give it a try. For portraits, the 105 f1.4 is my favorite.
no offence intended: the nikkor 43-86mm lens, during the active days of film photography, was considered by some self proclaimed experts to be one of nikon's worst lenses. it is all a matter of opinion, however. i too had the 43-86mm and very much liked it.
I agree. Your phrase "self proclaimed" says it all.
The FM2n is also a fully mechanical platform with a light meter and lighter in weight but not PRO apparently. I love mine.

It would be very helpful if you could tell me where I can get this camera from. Great Video Btw!
That one picture of the bridge is Astoria isn’t it? Say, where are you from?
it's my favorite also
I picked up a nice F3 with the dedicated flash. Prefer an F2, I think.

I have a Nikon F2 as I prefer cameras and watches that work without needing a battery.
the original nikon slr, nikon f, came as base model, with no metered head.
One question: does the light meter work when in waist level view?
The Nikon DW-1 Waist Level Viewfinder does not have a light meter when attached to the Nikon F2!
WHY ONLY ONE VIDEO
what kind of battery does the f2 use?
Lr44/ sr44 x2

You need to get a vintage lens cap. That looks like crap.
you don't actually use or know how to use the camera, do you?
