I cried too! Richard Goodall certainly is the epitome of “don’t judge a book by its cover” , just like Susan Boyle! What I love about Richard, aside from his incredible talent as a singer, is that he has retained, at the age of 55, a purity of spirit that you really only see in very young children. He’s not naïve, he is as simple and direct and pure as a human being can get. This truly touching performance added great joy to this planet. Thank you, Richard! My affection grew once Steve Perry in late 1977, or beginning in 1978 joined. "Light' holds special personal meaning for me. IMO, Steve's vocals were unique, powerful, and unmatched by other singers. I'll always miss Perry bc he's a valued classic. Richard Goodall is awesome in his own right!! We're just lucky that we get to hear them both. I say this bc ... FYI, Richard was on a tictok video in 2022 singing this song. Steve Perry saw it and was blown away. He contacted Richard to join them on stage when they performed in a town near him. Covid so small audience in 22. But he went on stage and performed with Steve Perry. The only way you could tell which were singing at that moment was by who had the mic up to their mouth. So the tictok video the kids at his school posted and this being on stage with Perry is his only experience before AGT.
