I'm on the iPhone Fibonacci upgrade cycle. I have the 13 Pro which I upgraded from the 8. I am currently waiting for the iPhone 21 to debut in about 6 years (+6 months for debugging of hardware). I should be able to get it a couple of years before I retire. I expect the iPhone 34 will be my final iPhone................It will be buried with me so that in the future archeologists will have something to wonder about!

Awesome. I’m on the same plan book as you are. I currently have the IPhone 6 S Plus and looking to upgrade fairly soon. Starting to see lag and maybe either due to battery being degraded and space as well as software being out of date but if it isn’t broke quite just yet why purchase something new. I’m good with what I have to be honest but if performance didn’t go down then I would. Just glad to see other people aren’t roped into the marketing hype of having to buy a new phone that practically is the same thing we currently already have. Doesn’t mean I don’t like new things but until prices start to be more reasonable I might splurge a tad bit more but still stay humble on my spending.
I wish the "capture button" also doubled as a fingerprint reader.
What really grinds my gears about the phone’s getting bigger is how iOS doesn’t seem adapted to big phones yet. Yeah wow there’s Reachability, but stuff is always in the top corners, making the experience mostly two handed or uncomfortable.
Don't worry by the time the iPhone 21 comes out they should have it all figured out and be able to charge a premium for that feature in the Pro Max model!🤣
I can easily reach the top with 1 hand. Yeah without moving your hand you can't reach it but with just a little effort you can easily reach within 1 second

Ideally 5.8' is the sweet spot/medium.

I agree with you. The Capture button is superfluous. The iPhone is NOT a DSLR. It doesn't handle like a DSLR. Giving it a DSLR-like button doesn't make it feel like a DSLR. Hasn't anybody noticed that the way we hold the iPhone to take photos is goofy? Somebody can easily bump into you and knock your camera to the ground. You can't even adjust the aperture. The iPhone is NOT a DSLR.

The 15Pro is the perfect size iPhone powerhouse!
We’ll see how they compare camera-wise. Could get an epic Black Friday deal on the 15P. Most of my 3x shots are for portraits (mostly of my dog and nature), and I already have to backup a good bit and am sometimes tight on space. With a 5x I’ll have to backup even further from the subject. I also prefer the 13p 26mm over the 24mm lens on the 14-16p. Images are flatter and less distorted when compared side by side. I know 15p has the “various focal lengths”, but they’re not really true.
It’s insane to me we’re getting a 48mp ultra-wide instead of telephoto. Having 4x the mp to work with would result in further and clearer digital zoom. I’d MUCH rather have a 48mp 3x over a 12mp 5x, or a 48mp ultra-wide.. especially since images from the ultra-wide are already stretched! Are we really zooming in on ultra-wide photos that we need the negligible difference in clarity? I know I don’t. I want better hdr (have you seen the new galaxy and pixel photo comparisons??), a clearer more detailed 3x telephoto (but I’ll settle with a clearer more detailed 5x).. annnd that’s it. Ideally give me the 26mm standard lens, but that won’t happen.
I've never owned an iPhone so what ever iPhone I purchase will be great I'm learning to the 15 pro at the moment

I wish people would stop thinking they need to upgrade every year. I'm on a iPhone XS Mac and the iPhone 16 pro Max sounds like a really good upgrade for me!

The iPhone 16's A18 Pro may also have an enlarged NPU to accommodate edge AI with possibly an extra ROM to contain the Apple's new AI LLM model(s).
Just got the 15pm and also held the s24u in hand. The s24u feels heavy, while the 15pm feels right there on the perfect spot between ok and heavy. No case yet though. The 16pm being worries me.
Should be lighter tbh, I don't mind larger but needs to be lighter

Since I always have a 2-year payoff with my carrier question is if I’m gonna upgrade from 14 Pro or enjoy a much lower monthly bill 😁 Upsides would be battery (86% after 17 months 😠), USB-C and better cameras. All depends on my financial situation in 6 months time 😂

i got 15 pro and there are not big diffrent from my 13 pro other then weight notch action buttin that i used same as silent switch and improve camera that for me is not big upgrade im thinking of selling 15 pro and stay on 13 pro

We’re not even halfway through the lifecycle. We’re not gonna truly know what the iPhone 16 or whatever they call it has to offer until shortly before it’s released.
Apple should bring back magsafe battery packs since battery capacity always short on I-devices or bring back removable batteries that’s removable with the battery packs that could be stacked in one pack. I wouldn’t mind paying $200 for one that’s 3 batteries with MagSafe charging backwards charging.
Since it’s getting into gaming this would be perfect & use Samsung cooling concept.

Very interesting video. However at least for me. The principal reason for changing my phone each year is the camera and that is enough reason for me, but if they offer more things that is a huge plus.

If the camera has more megapixels, or have more optical zoom or even the minor difference that can make you take a better photo or video or have anything different than the previous iphone then is a upgrade no matter how you see it is an upgrade and worth the upgrade every year. This year i bought the 15 PRO MAX just for the 5x zoom and for me it's a big upgrade and will pay every year until I die for the next iphone for the camera and the better chip.

Back then people were expecting Apple to eventually remove all physical buttons and the port, turns out they are wrong and Apple is trying to make buttons all around the iPhone. I like that Apple is finally giving USB 3 speeds and USB C to iPhone 15 Pro which allows users to shoot ProRes video up to 4k 60 straight to an SSD. With log encoding and support for ACES, iPhone 15 Pro might be the best smartphone video camera ever. If only I could afford it. Performance improvements this time is fine, not groundbreaking by any means but now you can technicaly play Resident Evil and Death Stranding on it so that is cool. Titianium is fine, but rounded edges are really really great. The 5x telephoto on the Pro Maxes would probably come to the Pros next year. With Apple releasing the A17 and marketing it as A17 Pro means that next year we would probably see an A17 Bionic of some sort that would not include stuff like ray tracing and USB 3. They would then slap it on the iPhone 16 and call it a day. I am interested in what's next for the iPhone 16 Pros though. I really wanted it to be my only camera for production some day.

@@satxrnhimself completely honest, I would not change it , maybe for 14P as 15P is very hot and battery life might be even shorter and things as performance I don't think there is need for change as you have 14P , there will be 0 difference in changing that for 15 pro and phone will be hotter without reason

And samsung s25 ultra would be 7 inch. I will upgrade with 7 inch. 7,2 inch would be better. Need a bigger screen for netflix and gaming. The thing with fold, yeah they have bigger screen. But the aspect ratio kinda off.
You have bigger screen, but ended up with huge black bars on top and bottom of your screen if not zoom in.
But then if you zoom in, you loses a lot of images or content due to different aspect ratio.
You have bigger screen but less content, very weird with foldable.
So candy bar phone still the perfect phone, but need to be bigger for better experience.
Except my pro max barley fits in my pocket. Wouldn’t want it getting much bigger especially in my tight pants. Almost not practical might as well carry a bad and get a tablet

Apple action button? They blatently copied Samsung's on-off button where you can assign any action/app to not only 1 click but also two clicks.
