    You were lucky in this spot Chris, to have that 'clean', dry soil to move,....Makes it easier on the equipment I would think.
    I could watch this video a lot longer ... Cheers

    Typical residential pavement is that thick in areas that I've lived in across the US, but in the colder climates (upper Midwest) it just doesn't last at all and is prone to the pot hole syndrome. Heavy industrial traffic on it just devours it with cracks and splits. :-(

    Why have i never ever seen a video were the trucks have dropped their extra axels?!

    • @TheMetalButcher
      @TheMetalButcher 9 лет назад +5

      I think they typically don't drop them until they are on the open road, as it hurts the turn radius and scrubs tires.

    How many ton can you put on those fully loaded. Here in Pennsylvania the most you can go is a tri axle and the max is about 22 ton

    • @BigDogDuramax
      @BigDogDuramax 9 лет назад

      Max in pa is 73,280 lbs. I've seen tri axles haul legally 24+ ton

    Hi. What are the extra wheels on the trucks for? They dont look like they do anything.

    • @rude252
      @rude252 9 лет назад

      Philip Manning they help the truck get over speed bumps - distribute the weight better.

    • @MrThisIsMeToo
      @MrThisIsMeToo 9 лет назад +8

      They are used to distribute the weight per axle. The truck would be overweight per axle without them when fully loaded. The operator can bring them up and down as needed (operated by air) to save on wear on tires and to help with turning. Normally the driver would have them up when empty or down when fully loaded to comply with weight laws. Driver can also lift them up when loaded the help with tight turns as having them down increases the turning radius. They have nothing at all to do with speed bumps as previously mentioned.

    You did your share of complaining about the maneuvering skills of the drivers. Just so you are aware, those drivers were complaining about your crappy loading skills, as they are the ones with dirt and rocks on the outside of their truck bodies.
