After a day on the farm with you I'm ready for a nap...a real eye opener to some of the daily grind of farming...day in..day out..no vacation or sick days...think before you drag animals home...think about it alot..
Again, just so envious that you guys in the US can farm that way, and sell well what you farm. None of what you do, which is for me the most respectful to aninals and environment, would be allowed in the EU. We are so f*ed up by the regulations created by big Ag industries that you would probably end up in jail for feeding good food to your community...thank you so much for showing all your hard work and how sustainable high quality food is made.
I'm exhausted just watching your video. Having had a much smaller farm than yours I know how much work that's never ending goes into it. Thank you for sharing . Love your video's.
Yes, I agree a mower is excellent at rapidly opening new spots for water flow. What other RUclipsrs don't show is that method you developed to put in step-in posts without getting out of your vehicle. That is cleaver. May God bless you.
What a great video, little bit of everything! You folks are getting to be my favorite farming channel...God fearing, kind hearted, hard working and straight to the point with no BS...excellent recipe for success! Thank you for another glimpse into life on the farm. God Bless you and yours Chuck and Sondra. ❤🙏🏻🇺🇸
Compost the paper bags. They are great for starting new garden beds. Put them on the ground to cover all the existing vegetation, then bury them with compost or wood chips or whatever soil you have on hand. They prevent weeds from coming up and break down over time. I try my best to only buy feed in paper bags for this reason.
We ferment our feed to stretch it and it makes it more digestible for our pigs. Honestly it’s a bit of a pain but we have two groups of 6-7 hogs so it’s still tolerable. Your farm is beautiful.
Feed bags = $$! grow potatoes in those bags - sell bag full of compost and fresh potatoes - vines and all for a set fee at your markets - big seller here. OR, give them away or sell for cheap to those that like to grow vegies/fruit in those bags OR they work well to cover ground you want to rid of weeds/grasses b4 planting your garden. Sewn and glued together, plastic feed bags make good tarps - whew! like u don't have too much to do already. : ) You stole my water hose trick! We have one now that's more glue and tape than hose! LOVE your vids, Love U both. God bless and keep you! sorry I'm so long winded...
Have you watched Pete on Just a Few Acres? He has a smaller operation with pigs, cattle, and chickens, but uses portable grain trailers. He has a video doing the math over getting the grain in bags. Just something to consider.
Man I have 2 feeders I am raising and they follow me around whining all the time. They are the last 2 babies from our first farrow. I can't imagine 19 of them doing it! Thanks for sharing Chuck and Saundra! So happy to see a day on the farm with you guys! Hope all is well!
Thank you Chuck And Sondra for giving quality meaningful information. You have helped us out quite a bit in our small farm endeavor. Keep up the good work!!
Just a few thoughts, first, I don't see how you work a regular job and find time to do all you have to do on the farm, second, I believe your cows leg will heal up before long, and third, that one good looking bull. As always I enjoyed it.
Thanks. I actually do work another job. What I don’t show on RUclips is getting up every morning at 4:30 and going in to the office (I work from home 4 days per week) at 4:30 and working a couple of hours before anyone else gets up. Then I’m in and out multiple times per day for calls and zoom meetings. I also check and respond to emails all day from the tractor, field or shop. I shoot video footage as things are happening during the day (like in this one) then I get another hour or so on the computer for work later in the afternoon. Video editing is usually wrapped up around 10:30 or 11:00. Then it starts all over again. I’m not saying all that to prove a point or justify but there is a lot more goes into this thing than we can even begin to show in video. Thanks so much for watching. Appreciate the comments.
those are beautiful pigs! green grass with dry ground keeps them happy and they can root around and get tubers and all the good things in the dirt. happy piggies make for happy farmers.
I see folks use the feed bags to plant potatoes. Poke a bunch of drain holes, roll the bag sides down like your sockets, then roll it back up a little at a time as you add soil to your spuds. Maybe a local 4H group might want them ?
Maybe not helpful for you, (not much cold weather there I imagine?) but our paper 50lb feed bags we use for winter insulation. Stuff em full of hay or straw, and jamb them between the coop n barn framing. The ones that get nasty we pull the hay out for bedding, toss in trash and replace. The plastic burlap type ones we use to sell fertilizer by the bag.
I love and appreciate ya'll's show I subscribe couple dozen homesteading farming channels. Each one has it's own flavor and is unique and different. Each one shows how they do it and how and why it works for them. Each one has something to offer in practices and purpose. Yours is absolutely one of my favorite channels to watch if not my top go to. Thank you for sharing your journey and experience and for showing us how we can farm. God bless you folks and your labors of love.
Y’all have an awesome set up. Outstanding looking animals. Y’all are definitely an inspiration to those of us getting started. We appreciate you fine folks! 🤠🇺🇸
I use the feed sacks that are paper and Todd right in the bedding g area of the pigs they love to rip them up playing with them and it cuts the smell down if you have a sow with little ones or a wean group to toss it near there potty spot carbon you done paid for might as well use it
We reuse our feedbags as trash bags. We don't have any trash service on our property, so they make a convenient bag for plastic and metal packaging waste.
I’ve been almost 2 years trying to find out more information what the guidelines are for selling animals I finally found a website that explains what you have to follow. We currently have chickens, pigs and honeybees. I can’t forget my dogs 😅 would you care to do a little more videos on the guidelines or state laws I can’t even find when the farmer markets are at little lone when I’m in KY
What do you do about mice/rats getting in your feed storage? We get it by the ton as well and mice/ field rats will get into every bag. The bulk bags and the 50lb bags. Curious what y'all do to prevent them
So you really can't figure out a way to repurpose those bags that's amazing to me like it's a bag you could fill it up with rabbit manure and sold it to local gardeners for more than rabbit feed even but you can't figure that out I don't even know why I watch this show and I'm going to go watch a different one
So now Chuck isn't JUST a farmer, he's a standup comedian. The hose joke was priceless...

Personally, I enjoy this type of day-in-the-life vlogs. Don't feel the obligation to teach something every day. Have a Satisfying Saturday!!

Always a chore to do... Great work and thanks for showing us the everyday, less fun stuff.
Always! It NEVER ends. 😆

Yes. We are fans of his. Most of our feed is bought in 2000lb totes. We just occasionally have to buy in bags because the mill only sells it in 50lbs.
Stringing a fence, holding a camera. Awesome.
Hard working American family!
Great video! I loved seeing what you ACTUALLY do in a typical day. It's a lot like what I do (I just do it on a MUCH smaller scale).
Came here to say that.
Thanks prayers 😊
I use my empty feed bags as trash bags. We haven’t bought commercial trash bags in years.
Man I have 2 feeders I am raising and they follow me around whining all the time. They are the last 2 babies from our first farrow. I can't imagine 19 of them doing it! Thanks for sharing Chuck and Saundra! So happy to see a day on the farm with you guys! Hope all is well!

lol at 21:23 - great video again!

I also wanna thank y’all for sharing as much as you do
I like those Five Brothers bibs. That's my brand of choice.
Getting feed and unloading feed takes time. Animals take alot of time. The day goes by to fast. Great video.
Thanks for a good look at the day in the life of a farmer. I enjoy and appreciate y’all so much!! God bless you guys.
those are beautiful pigs! green grass with dry ground keeps them happy and they can root around and get tubers and all the good things in the dirt. happy piggies make for happy farmers.
Thanks! They do seem a lot more content this way. Appreciate y’all watching.
haha love the special hose. adapt and overcome, fella
The hose is awesome. I have one just like it.
Amen!! Your both doing a great job!!!

That is one gorgeous looking bull

Nooice!😎 STOC
wonderful video!
Y’all have an awesome set up. Outstanding looking animals. Y’all are definitely an inspiration to those of us getting started. We appreciate you fine folks! 🤠🇺🇸
Chuck, you might think about investing in a couple of gravity grain/feed wagons for bulk feed. 🤷🏾♂️
Loved this video!!
Awesome video! Thanks for putting that together.
Great video like how u showed all the animals on ur farm thanks for sharing
Thanks! Appreciate y’all watching.
@@SheratonParkFarms ur welcome
I used to have a custom hose just like yours.
What are the dimensions of your big brooders? Do you have a video of how to build? Love you videos!! May the Lord bless you both and keep you!
More much GOODER
ROFL - "Special Hose". Would go good with my "Special Extension Cords," my wife made me. Got about 10-12 of them, 14-16" long if you need one.
Special hose! 😂
Busy busy
More is better until you top out. Then what? You guys are a trip!

RUclips isn't showing ticks.. lots of ticks.
❤
We reuse our feedbags as trash bags. We don't have any trash service on our property, so they make a convenient bag for plastic and metal packaging waste.
With the scenery you have I know why you bought that farm!
Strong Christian .man speaking of yur dad legacy😢
We re use the old bags for trash bags in house
Do you have any rodent problems around your open feed container? Thanks for your informative and interesting videos.
Hubby opens the bags, lays them in the garden, puts mowed grass over them to prevent weeds
What is your freezer? Is it a converted container? We are looking for a large scale freezer.
Its an old bread freezer from a fast food restaurant.

Those bags might make good worm food or compadre
Chuck you solo it today? Where is J.W?
You were trying to hide it but I saw a few times how it was actually your two clones Chuck2 and Chuck3 that were doing some of the simplest work.
Is the netting electrified too?
No it is not.
Hey Chunk can i ask you why dont you move the net from the other side and finish in seconds?i do also pigs and find it much easier
What do you do about mice/rats getting in your feed storage? We get it by the ton as well and mice/ field rats will get into every bag. The bulk bags and the 50lb bags. Curious what y'all do to prevent them
I use my 50lb feed sack as garbage bags... I haven't had one refused by the garbage company yet
First time pig owners. We have pigs that are getting ticks what the best thing to use to get rid of them
I don’t like to use it but ivermectin is an option.
@@SheratonParkFarms thank you! We really like your videos
Get you a 55 gallen burn barrel barrel, it works for me, To burn your bags in,
What is that stuff coming from the sky?
What brand of netting do you use? My post are so cheap they don’t stand up they bend over
Don’t buy the cheapest netting they sell. Buy quality, not low price.
"What RUclips WASN'T showing you"
Why don’t you move the fence into the ground the pigs made short rather than run the trimmer if you’re going to move it anyway?
You use your old feed bags for trash bags in the house and barns. Why buy bags when you’ve already purchased them?
What is the average cost to raise 1 pig from birth to slaughter? Just curious.
Chuck YOU need another dog or 12!
Anytime my wife can’t something, “a Sheraton park farms woman would not fail”. Or “what would Sondra do?”
👍👍👍😂😂😂🥰🥰🥰
