It really is such a good, uplifting vibe in Yerevan right now; everyone is in good spirits for JESC and the holidays! Also, it took them WEEKS to build the stage in Republic Square; they've had the area around the dancing fountains cordoned off for about a month while they were assembling everything!
Opening Ceremony was imo the best from all the others, & Ani Lupe (the Woman Singing) is a well known Actress being in an Armenian Sitcom called *The Azizyans* & the way she sings & Screams matches her Role perfectly
This was so extra in all the right ways! Like Olympics opening ceremony meets Eurovision Jr…??? Sign me up! Armenia really setting the bar high. They need to do this kind of a celebration for regular Eurovision now tbh. A few minor notes tho… the questions the presenters asked were cringe at times (poor Carlos)… I don’t love that there is an expectation for these kids to speak fluent English… give them translators like Ukraine had so they can speak their native languages. Also I wish we would have had the full draw of the running order… was a little bit weird to have only three countries placed and wouldn’t have taken that much longer to do. Other than that, it was very well done and fun.
I agree about the running order. I think they could’ve provided translators too but I very much appreciated how they quickly changed the topic to not embarrass the kids. I thought it was sweet how they diverted attention from the question they couldn’t answer ❤
@@cece1907 Oh yeah, I think that they handled the Carlos situation pretty well, but I don’t think it was a great question to start with… I think they should have asked all of them questions that focused on their songs… maybe even give them a lil heads up on the question they will be asked so that they aren’t put on the spot like Laura was too… I feel like they are trying to set opportunities up for different content to happen (ie. baking a cake with Zlata)… so we will see, but overall I really enjoyed this and am so glad Noosh reacted to it. ❣️🤗❣️
Made it clear they are ready to host the senior version anytime. Organisation really good. I just wonder if they have an arena for that, or if the Karen arena would be used for that as well ?

I just happened to be on RUclips when this started livestreaming and thought “oh this thing is usually like twenty to thirty minutes and they do a drawing and stuff so might as well watch it” and then it turned out to be soooo much more! Later that day I then showed the video to my sister and niece who loved it. My sister even said that for those who speak/understand Armenian the stage show probably was even better because there’s probably some clever lyrics/lines in it. But even for those of us who don’t, the narrator provided enough brief synopsis of each scene to get the gist of what we were watching.... kinda like how US tv folks do during the Olympics opening and closing ceremonies, World Cup opening ceremony, etc, etc, etc (although this narrator actually does stop talking whereas the US tv persons sometimes talk incessantly over what’s happening and not even about what’s happening which is why I got nervous when NBC announced that they’d have an announcer for Eurovision. But Johnny Weir did a great job and just like when he commentates for ice skating competitions [Olympic or otherwise] he stayed focused on the show itself and presenting information and facts and explained things for folks who were watching for the first time. Kinda wish all US tv commentators could be like Johnny and do that, but unfortunately they’re not and they get some very chatty folks commentating). The Armenian broadcaster really seems to have spared no expense in putting on JESC. It makes me wonder if the extra stage show is because it’s the special 20th JESC or if that’s going to become a thing now, too, for JESC. And not gonna lie I do kinda wish ESC had a common song performed by all the participants like JESC does and if this kind of opening stage show becomes a regular thing in JESC I think it’d be neat to get added to ESC, too. I agree that an opening ceremony like this for ESC would be neat. The turquoise carpet is kinda like this, but definitely not at this scale. Armenia really decided to scale up opening ceremonies for song contests! :-) I enjoyed seeing you hum along to the songs. My sister, niece, and I all did so to when watching it. I mean, the melodies are very familiar so it’s hard not to. And agree that classical music is sometimes underrated. I was a band geek in school. Started in 5th grade all the way through high school. Learned about music theory, scales, etc. It’s one of the reasons I like watching the Kpop reactions of the channel React To The K is because those are professional classical and jazz musicians reacting and commenting on Kpop songs and so they get fairly technical. I’d honestly love to hear them do the same for Eurovision, but I’m not even sure if any of them know about Eurovision. The hosts of this opening ceremony are wonderful and adorable. I don’t know if they’re also the main hosts for the main show, but they did a fantastic job here. Also not sure what the temperature there was, but seeing this event all outdoors with people in coats, etc, reminds me of how my hometown starts the holiday season off. Though Yerevan looks much more beautiful than my hometown and I’m pretty sure its way bigger (and it’s definitely older, my hometown was founded in a single day in 1893 as part of a landrun). Great reaction! Also the chicken looked tasty. I’m not sure what it was supposed to look like for your recipe, but it still looked edible. Reminded me of how my paternal grandfather would cook chicken....and my paternal grandmother would joke that he liked his chicken extra well done! (but from he used to say, it was because of someone he fought alongside in Europe during WW2 who preferred food to be overcooked for reasons my grandfather didn’t fully understand).
The way the question was made to Carlos of Spain was ackward. He didn't understand it. He was not given a chance to understand, he was dismissed by the hosts, so he did not respond. This is so unfair!!!
Some very awkward moments. The language issue was a major problem and some of the questions asked were off topic and incoherent to some of the kids. I’m surprised that the kids weren’t told ahead of time what questions they would be asked. The two hosts were very nice but something just didn’t click for me. Cringeworthy sometimes.
In my opinion, asking questions without first passing them on to the delegations to obtain an adequate response was a big blunder, as happened with Carlos or at least having a translator, he is only 11 years old. We are crazy ?🤷🏻♂️ I think this can only create insecurities for children.🤦🏻♂️

@@ananyan_ Smth weird i hear for the first time. Maybe for Armenians it is how it works. She has nothing in common with Armenia anymore. How can she be Armenian lol. Then there is no one truly American. Everyone is from somewhere lmao. What century do you live in? who thinks like that in the modern world. It is the same if you said that Kim Kardashyan is Armenian.
@@iosebdzamukashvili5360 Nationality is a personal matter. Someone who is Armenian living in for example Spain, might not consider herself/himself Armenian, because they fill closer to that particular culture or environment that they live in and support their social views. I think that is what makes her Armenian. I'm waiting for your reaction to the songs of the singers 😌💚
pls next video reaction to the singers' song on opening ceremony - winners of junior eurovision and armenian participants from different years
I’m confused… what’s the “Singers’ Song?” 😅
The best part of this ceremony is that people who weren't lucky to get tickets to the jury or main show, can still be a part of Eurovision 🤗
