Thanks for collabing with me on this, Ryan! I also found the instant review super useful when trying to do continuity on set and caught a few things right away.
Being able to make a rough cut WHILE shooting is insane 😲 On a side note: Where did you get that awesome "Editing" shirt Ryan?
We sell it on our store. :) www.triunedigital.com/collections/apparel
love you both.. 😍😍 from India 🇮🇳
wholesome interaction
This is something I am excited about and now Atomos is also getting involved with this as well it’s a game changer big time, especially with Atomos livestream function. I’m super excited!
1st. This is going to save so much on time and money. I can't wait to start learning more on this.
2nd. I miss the funny shorts and banters you guys usually have. (Still going to watch your channel, cause it is by far the most entertaining and educational)
3rd. Keep up the Great work FR!
Nice to see this filtering down for more use in Indy production and public consumption. We've personally being using something similar, and proprietary to a certain company, in production for a few years.. saved time/costs and when it came to editing, reduced burnout on this individual anyway. Also became a very much needed tool thanks to the demic.
The live rough cuts are HUGE! This would have saved us hours on our last short with having to fix some pacing pickups too! Love it!
Now this is a game changer!! 🤩👏
Maaannn!! This is going to save up some crazy money in those productions.. gamechanger indeed!
They use to do this back in the day when the internet was young , but it was done with music . Someone in say NYC would lay down tracks and someone in California would add vocals and mix . But this is cool technology has come a long way .
I'm interested in a basic logistic thing - did it all go well when reconnecting these cloud proxies to original media? And what happens if there are drop-outs on the teradeck?
Ryan’s sound mixer had a C2C enabled recorder and was running timecode, so synching was a one-click thing.
This seems like something that would really be useful in corporate commercial production when you have an agency rep and/or their client wanting to see things as quickly as possible...it's still a pain sometimes to have a client on set but at least it'll be faster!
wow! all of this is incredible, but I think the most incredible thing is Justin is pretty good at basketball
I edit sound fx and it never stops blowing my mind how complex productions get these days.
it's *Really change* ! & i like that *Editing* T-Shirt also
This is so dope!! Thanks for covering this. I loved being able to see Valentina colab with you guys outside of Aputure. Side note: what's the vibe for the color grading for Ryan's dialogue? You just did a segment on color grading, and I'm just curious on the vibe you guys are choosing for the dialogue. It's unique in the skin tones are running a little cooler. Kinda makes him pop from the warm background
There is little doubt that so many recent innovations will change the future of film.
Food enters the body, sticks about about a bit and then after nourishing the body is passed as a bi product.
So many "conveniences" are dispensing with the necessary gestation required to produce anything really worthwhile.
Every great movie, was born from the very things, that now, so many seem happy to wave goodbye to.
Thanks, as always! I'm going to use it this year! 👍👍👍
this is actually pretty amazing, thanks for sharing Ryan 🙂
First, from Brazil! I love you guys!
Definitely will be a game changer for second unit crews. That’s exciting technology
fuuuuck this is exciting. can’t wait to watch what you all made.
Can you do a comparison between this and what BlackMagic is doing?
I just did a video on the C2C integration with Filmic Pro. It’s insane how well it works and how much easier it makes the collaborative workflow.
Doesn't this sound like a nightmare for the editor? They need to be waiting for each scene as they get done in order to make the director happy and can't work on their own schedule and get their shit done?
Right?... I was just thinking about this.... Even doing a rough cut takes a good amount of time to review footage
Exactly. Or anyone in post. I can see this becoming horribly abused by clients who want immediate feedback from editors and vfx artists, and they'll want to see a million different versions. Made even worse if they're shooting halfway around the world and everyone in post has to do all this crunch work in the middle of the night.
This is exactly what I was thinking. A potential compromise could be scheduling the editor to start on day 2 of production, that way they can start on day 1 and incorporate shots as they come in from day 2. Of course they wouldn't have a full pallet of shots to draw from, but at least they'd have the material to piece scenes together (depending on the project of course), and they could give feedback to the director if necessary.
Awesome! I've AC'd for Valentina a few times she's awesome
Film riot almost at 2 mil subs !!!!
This is an awesome way to collaborate
It's like shooting tethered in photography but for video!
Cool shirt man. VHS editing, the good old days. 🙂👍
That shirt is amazing
Great tech for indie film makers. Thanks for sharing
Tuis is the best tool ever for any Youtber that plays Minecraft and has an editor. He wouldn't have to wait until the editor edit the video. And the editor would get feedback right away, while editing the video.
do you think can get the same outcome when using final cut?
Having someone cut live while you’re shooting is so cool
A.I will do marvelous thing and new approach during shooting and post production. Imagine an app that manage to notify, verify double check approved storyboard so you won't miss or forget a single shot, once upload to Cloud it will also check for sound and bad shots and arrange rushes into timeline automatically for preliminary offline cut.It will cut the post production hours. I wonder will video editor will be replace by machine someday. We knew A.I powered scriptwriter already existed, matter of time perfected. A blessing for producer and studio but bad for us the manual manpower.
Sometimes you sound like bojack, i love it 🐴⭐️
Script to cloud, camera to cloud, and edit to cloud is the way of the future.
Aw jeez. They’re gonna use this to shove us editors back in a closet and lock the doors. Set time was my only socialization! 🤣
Exciting workflow, but I'm going to need to see some serious app stability if Adobe are ever going to coax me back to Premiere
Same, Davinci Resolve all the way!
I agree this is a game changer, but given the need for specific gear, I wonder if this will be any good for the smaller indies.
It’s certain not going to do much for someone using a DSLR or an iPhone.
@Michael Cioni Oh, that’s cool! Thanks! The pricing isn’t too bad either, $15 a month is pretty reasonable.
@Michael Cioni What about black magic cinema camera's or other cinema camera's in that range?
At first it seemed like a barely useful tool, especially to us no budget guys. But, as you were pointing out the benefits I found myself shaking my head yes, yes, yes... :^)
What’s the wifi transmitter you have on the c-stand?
I wish I had this to send files to a client rather than buying a new drive to mail out every shoot 😅
They always end up getting an MP4 in the end since they never know what to do with actual RAW files.
True indeed
Tech is crazy
I conquer
Adobe is trying to stay ahead of BMD. That's not a bad thing. Competition is healthy.
True, though can they catch up to davinci Resolve with it being a one time purchase?
This is definitely a game changer! P.S.- you need to start adding links to where you get your t-shirts. :)
This looks awesome! Utilising a work flow as shown here would put any team at a pretty big advantage, because hiring an editor to work on the same day as production means you can deliver to clients much faster. However, this seems to be quite a new technology and I'm sure there are still some bugs to work out. My core concern right has to do with how this system handles low quality connections; for example, what happens if your connection drops out half way through shooting, and it doesn't come back until later? Does the Terradeck or Atomos Connect hold on to the proxy files and wait for a connection, or does it only upload each shot as they're sent to the device? Also what happens if your device loses battery half way through an upload? And is there a way to take existing files on your camera card and send them through later, or does this system only work after you press record?
@Michael Cioni Awesome! Thanks for letting me know! We'll definitely look into using this in the future 😊
Are we able to modify proxy settings? Like I don't want a proxy that is 6K even though the Raw files are. I just need it to be 1080p @24fps
@Michael Cioni I'm guessing we also need very good and stable internet services for the feature in the video to work as intended...
This is Incredible
Ok, this seems like a fast and convenient way to work on a film/video project. However at $25 a month for 15 users, unless I'm working on a project it's gobbling up a monthly subscription until I get another project, reducing my bottom line on every project. Someone is going without craft services.
Incredible.
Love you film riot from albania 😎😎
When will Adobe announce a from ground up redone Aftereffects? We all know how bad and slow it is compared to other software out there. Ae so bogged down with legacy code!
Premiere too
Honestly I moved to editing templates in PPro so that I can expedite
Just need Wren to swear a few more times
@@jpjapers Lol yes, that's where I was coming from. Got so used to all the problems and quirks, that I thought it's a feature. Sometimes we need to make more noise to change things.
I just use davinci Resolve and blender for everything. Not to mention you can get both for free😂 though I do want to get the pro resolve software
Can you please do a tutorial on how to load an image and match it up on a monitor
so how do you get the files to turn into the real files after the proxies ?
AMAZING!
Yooo Ryan Guy, sick shirt…where can we get one? An editor must not be without such a fine, fine shirt. Cheers 🍻
Looks amazing, but it would require a good internet connection which it shooting out in the sticks might not be so easy, not sure what coverage there is with 4g/5g.
Between this and the virtual production kit for 5k (dammit I can’t remember the name but they were at NAB this year!), that’s what I’m excited about. Oh! And the Zombie rig for boom operators.
What was that monitor set-up that allowed you to overlay an image on the spot? Anyone know? That's pretty badass.
SmallHD monitors running PageOS allow you to do overlays like this. You can take screenshots in the monitor, or import images via SD card.
@@michaelparry6621 nice! Thanks for clearing that up.
I’m skeptical of anything Adobe being reliable.
That's wild.
You failed to mention that unless you are shooting with a Sony Venice, RED, Arri Alexa or Panavision camera, you can't use camera to cloud.
They released the ability to have C2C for any HDMI-out camera!
@@valentinavee I see that now. The frame i/o video did not make that clear at first. So one would need to drop $3k on a Teradek Serv 4K to do this right?
So Editors arent just night owls, They do alot of their work after everyone else goes home?
So do you need that wifi antenna thingy?
Very cool
the footage at 6:13. where is that from. that image looks delicious.
This is crazy!
Which website did you use to turn photo into 3d model
this blow my mind
It's a good idea, but I just worry about that amount of data. It would probably workout somewhere where you can have access to building wifi, but remotely, my phone's data plan wouldn't be able to handle that.
Interesting. I can see where Camera to Cloud might be a huge help for small production companies, but I can also see the potential for delays and second-guessing by clients and armchair "experts." Do you have any thoughts on how to avoid such problems?
You're forgetting a serious issue here: now productions will be expected to have smaller crews and MUCH smaller budgets. Yeah this is great for indie people like us (who have to take out a loan for even 5 grand), but as soon as Studios realize they can use this, they'll greenlight a $100 million movie for $20 million, turn a 100-person crew into 5 10-person crews, and demand 18-hour workdays (and just pay the meal penalty because it's still at the same rate it was in the 80s, so it's peanuts for them) AND STILL DECLARE NET LOSSES.
Burnout will be gargantuan, payroll will shrink even more, and the studios will become even more powerful than before. Any advantages we gain from this will be gone by next year.
It has already changed.
Couple this with wireless talk back.
You lost me at "Adobe"... But I finally watched the whole clip, of course ;) However, can't avoid thinking about the potential nightmare for forced supervision of some kind of clients, or maybe intrusive execs.
So it sounds technically interesting, but has a lot of hidden downsides imho (else than Adobe which is a huge one :):):) )
What was your WiFi upload speed?
Nice
Its perfect for some worklows but in other cases its impersonal and cold ... I like it and dont like it in some cases.
Now the director its a text or an iphone in the location?... nop... not for all cases. Maybe for product shots.
Valentina Vee!!
Who *ELSE* thinks this is amazing??…metaphorical hands in, “mighty ducks” on 3!!! 😁😅😅
Davinci I beg of you!
The thumbnail reminds me why RUclips needs to stop putting the runtime of the video on top of the thumbnail like that. I couldn't read the word "cloud".
This feature could actually be terrible for artists who will be heavily supervised by studio execs controlling every aspect on set.
Can you make a stranger things aesthetic type of video
I hit skip AD to get another AD..smh
A lot of people can't afford this.
And then there is germany where this would't work because we don't have fast internet here...
Sounds expensive…
Awesome, yet one more seemingly helpful achievement in film making that will aid in the over-saturating of an already fragile medium when it comes to personal expression in the visual arts. FILMAKING as we’ve come to know it, especially all things that have inspired young film makers in the first place to dare to attempt the expression, is truly dying. Commercialism, the great devourer. The reason why we will never see another Kubrick, another Tarkovsky, or another Lument, to only mention a few…
Sure, it's useful, but in the end it's just a cloud service for videos. Hardly ground-breaking.
... that are being streamed over the air from a production camera, making relinkable proxies. The potential workflow changes - editing each take into a sequence before you've even shot the next take - are groundbreaking. Perhaps not always beneficial, but groundbreaking.
Ideas are cheap and ten-a-penny. Implementation and ease-of-use are king. (eg. Apple)
🇺🇦🙌❤️
This sounds annoying as fuck 🤣 X
People still wearing masks and think they work...? :)
which do you perfer? Adobe or Final Cut? @ Film Riot
Wow awesome! Like watch you colab with Valentina 🔥🦾🎥 you should make a short film together... or a movie 🔥🔥
