I remember seeing this episode as a kid in school. Nice to see my favorite version of "The Prehistoric Animal Brigade" again. I think it was the best version ever made!
This one was a quick start clock . I always wonder weather i remember it or not i do remember the magic pencil must of been on at school . . Great to see . Again 👌
When I was very young, I would've loved to see Vicky Ireland in my local library or even the one that the school had, she was lovely, could be why I was good at reading, that and enjoying reading books as well. ;)
Used to love tv time at primary school. We would all sit in a room with ours legs crossed on the floor (no chairs lol😂) and they would wheel in the tv on stilts. Then you'd look up and watch with a crick in ya neck.....arh the good old days !! ❤
Fabulous so many old episodes of Words and pictures turning up recently i particulsrly like the munching monster and an excellent magic pencil here , these seemed rare in the early era
I've had the Prehistoric Animal Brigade song in my head for nearly 40 years - great to hear it done properly again!
It's impossible to be cross when you're watching the Prehistoric Animal Brigade.
Let's face is, these episodes are more informative than most programs made for adults these days lol

I remember this episode we watched this at school 1982/3 thanks for memory.
Awesome to see this episode again! Had this on VHS for a few years in the 80s, loved the song at the beginning...
I loved watching BBC schools ❤
After watching the Docudrama Threads about a nuclear attack on the UK I can't watch this in the same light again!
Wait what does a nuclear attack have to do with words and pictures??
@@FrogEmpress Watch Threads and you'll find out.
If you was born in Sheffield you wouldnt realise that an movie called threads shocked the nation in early 80s
skeletons and skulls
@@MrDaveyboy125I love threads and this theme tune reminds me of the scene in the old school with the old lady miming.

A well-remembered episode! Wonderful!
Remember these and the cartoon guy. 84-85 I watched these in school.
We were shown this episode at my primary school’s special needs unit in the 90s!

The 'countdown' at the beginning is kind of jolly, but not as catchy as that of the old Channel 4 school shows back in the 80s.
any more words and pictures
Vicky Ireland bears a very striking resemblance to the actress Lynette McMorrough. Indeed, I did think it was the latter until the credits rolled.
Much preferred it when Henry Woolf hosted this.
If I had read that as a young child, I would have been in a mental hospital now and wouldn't have typed in this comment.
Intriguing that they start with complex spellings of dinosaur names, then spell m m. Quite a stark contrast.
Threads - Jesus Christ.
