    Just got my 921 Forged, had one game and hit 75% of greens...wow love them. My previous set were HMB's which tragically were burnt on a bus along with 27 other sets on the way to Gympie GC last month. Loved the HMB's but these 921's felt beautiful. Playing tomorrow at Gympie (No I'm not taking the bus) I'm so excited, they just feel so much more forgiving that the HMB's. The head looks beautiful to me, don't care about the slightly larger head

      As Dionne Warwick sang "Trains and Boats and Planes". She never mentioned buses! Play well, John. The 921's will look after you.

    Love my Mizuno irons and clubs, wouldn't buy anything else. Looks, performance, forgiveness, the total package. Every time I see someone is reviewing anything Mizuno, I'm instantly "Click That!"

      That's how we feel when asked to review them. The finer details and all the elements you mentioned. Plus we get to compare how you should hit them (Kippa) with how most of us hit them (Shooter). These two are both exceptional, yet very different. Play well.

    The forged looks like a great club for the high single digit/low teen Hcap player. The tour looks low single digit to me. I would love to game the tour but realistically it’s not right for me (Hcap 12). Between the forged and HM pro for me I think! Love the videos guys.

    First, Thank you for your videos, very helpful and good data. That said, I am an 8-10 handicap. The more i play the the lower I score. I have been as low as a 6. That said, I plan on playing more and like the Mizuno's. If it helps, I hit my 4 and 5 iron as good, or even better than my seven and 8 iron at times. I could use better spin. This all said, would you recommend the Mizuno JPX921 Forged, Tour, or Hot Metal Pros. Your opinion is appreciated. Thanks, Mark

      It all comes down to whether you are a good iron player and want to have irons that suit now or next level. Based on the minimal info here, it would be out of Forged and Tour but this is why fittings are King (or Queen). Go get fitted.

    • @marks6636
      @marks6636 Год назад +1

      @@GolfBarons I am actually good with my long (4-5) irons. I could use more feel for the mid-level irons. but yes, a fitting is needed. Thank you for the reply.

    For a person that may need a bit more forgiveness the little thicker head of the forged wouldn’t be a problem and it’s a beautiful set of irons .

    • @GolfBarons
      @GolfBarons  3 года назад +1

      Beautiful is a good description. The short irons are classic, and who doesn't want/need a little help with the longer irons.

    Maybe you can help me with this....
    I currently play jpx900 tour. I am not totally convinced to change clubs yet but I have not been able to play as much with new baby/winter/new job etc. So my thought is to move to the forged for the bit of extra forgiveness. My issue is I don't need my 7i going 190 yards lol. Its pretty on the range but nothing as demoralizing when you think you hit a good shot and it air mails the green by 20 yards lol.
    So this is my thought/question: I am still a mid 80s player and occasionally dip into the 70s and 90s.... Is the 921 tour more forgiving than the 900tour? I love the look of the "almost blade." Second thought is getting the forged for added forgiveness but getting it weakened to the same angles as the tour model (34 degree 7i).
    Whats the better option for consistency in distance? I don't want to worry about hitting too far on a well struck shot. The tours are consistent vs other hot faced clubs.

    • @GolfBarons
      @GolfBarons  3 года назад

      Hi Kenny, you've got a couple of options to find the balance. 921 Forged as a full set work beautifully as the long irons have the muscle of Chromoly but from 8 iron they move to 1025e so it' all about feel. If you're worried about too much distance, I'd recommend 921 Forged 4 and 5 then shift to Tour for 6 up. The Tour is more forgiving than 900 Tour but not massively hence the forged exists. As for the 190 yard question, when getting fitted deal with length and peak height in combination. Then it becomes around gapping and that's a new topic entirely. Phil.
