Magnificent. I had no idea people were involved in so many steps of the production process. I've had 7 textbooks published; it would have been such a thrill to see the printing process in action.
Heidelberg Speedmaster prints 18,000 sheets per hour. Each sheet has 32 pages if you check the plate in the video. 32x18,000=576,000 pages per hour. It becomes 160 pages per second. It can’t be 300 books per second. Unless 1 book only has 0.533 page.
300 books a second would produce the ENTIRE estimated world's yearly book sales in under 100 days. So I agree, it's absolutely not 300 books per second, not even in the entire facility.
🤓
Korean, you know.
You should re-do your title, there are no 300 books per second. But good video though.
Prove it

@@daveklein2826 300 books a second would produce the ENTIRE estimated world's yearly book sales in under 100 days.
So yeah, I don't think even this entire facility produces 300 books per second, let alone what we see in the video.
Prove it
@@daveklein2826 it's math, he doesn't need to prove its fact!
This print smell is so good! I love it. Heidelberg is amazing.
In the early 70s, I worked for a printing company that printed limited runs of magazines and booklets. The binding machine was the most complicated machine and made a pleasing sound.
There was the time that the cover of the magazine was put upside down, and we had to unstaple the covers, which took forever and run it a second time.
Wonderful to see. For me quite nostalgic as there was a bookbinders company in the family, sadly no more. I visited it regularly with my grandad and remember all the noises the machines and the paper made. An engineering marvel to handle paper so quickly so delicately.
Thank you ROK for still loving and appreciating the printed text .
Our Son is writing ✍️ describing how all done . As stays in there minds and so amazing. He loves books so much . Thank You 🙏🏻
This is amazing how the machines work so eccurately and all the page numbers are in the right order
With so many precision components, imagine the chaos if just one tiny machine part is not working as it should.
ESO ES ESPECTACULAR !!!! ME GUSTO MUCHO !!!! ABRAZOS DESDE MEXICO !!!!
excelente video, gracias
Fantastic process. It seems like magical.
Super, unbelievably !
I really like reading books, this process has partly helped me understand the process of making it
Wow its good sharing
Outstanding, keep doing more videos.
Yes😊, we use too this:
Moorim paper
Daihan ink
I love it.
Amazing books manufacturers
Chaleureux bonjour d'Algerie.
Simplemente me encanto :)
"300 books in 1 second". That was a very long secund.
Very Nice !! A lot of factories from Germany ( Heidelberg etc. ) !
Miracle!
And this is why I love my Kindle
so daily 25.92 million books ? yearly 9.46 billion books ? 😧🤯
Exactly. It's definitely not 300 books per second. The entire world only purchases an estimated 2.2 billion books a year.
NICE video, but no music please.
I need that guy from _How It's Made_ to explain these steps as we go
3:27 From a safety standpoint I find it odd to see this blade cut while the worker barely removed his hand from the paper. I always thought machines like this would have switches that required both hands. Should be standard when operating machines lke these. Maybe there is a laser detecting whether the blade can cut. The stickers suggest otherwise though.
eu também fiquei apavorado com isso. There's an option in operation menu that turns this possibile... it's totally unsafe but is handled to do more efectivity on production in minus time. but absolutely not recommended
300 books a second would make the entire world's yearly book sales in under 100 days. So, no.
However, good shots of the production process. I once considered applying at a book printing facility, it's neat seeing the kinds of things I might have done. Ended up going to an offset printing place, which has some of the same earlier steps.
Description looks suspect but amazing processes, I enjoyed it. Despite all the machines there is still quite a bit of reasonably heavy manual labour. The machines must be a maintenance nightmare. Wouldn't like to get a paper cut off any of them!
the machines are definitely a maintenance nightmare but its extremely satisfying work
Fantástico
Does the Printing factorys production line work faster under normal operation, when there's no need to show how it works?
Tolong sediakan terjemahan bahasa setiap kali vedio dipaparkan.. Salam ukhwah dari Malaysia 🙋♂️🇲🇾
X number of books per month/30 days/24 hours/60 minutes/60 seconds = Y number of books per second. Easy peasy 😊
Whats the machine used for sorting the sheets after folding
👍👏💜🌺🌺🌺
3:36 "Come with me and we'll be in a world of OSHA violations."
The title did the job that it was suppose to, it got you to watch didn't it?... besides, yes the whole process takes longer of course, but once all the pieces are in place and ready, the speed is fast. I think that's what their referring to is my guess.
"The title did the job that it was suppose to, it got you to watch didn't it?"
A lying clickbait title working, does not excuse a lying clickbait title. :)
hola bueno nochge eso me encanta me hace falta cosas el libro ect por ejemplo A4 Y A3 Y A5 Y A6 ESO COMPLETO SI NO SE PUEDE GRACIAS CUANTO PRECIOS TODOS MAQUINA COMPLETO ECT GRACIAS YO SOY DEAF Y ISLAS DE CANARIAS DE LANZAROTE ¿?
Y YO SI SABERLO INFORMACION GRACIAS UN SALUDO
There are perfect binders that will go 300 a minute but this ain’t one of them.
Nothing new when compared to what I saw in Donnelly Documentation many, many years ago, when computer manuals were a thing. If anything, the manual handling in Korea seemed far higher in this video.
I only count 3 books per second
You are a slow counter
Wouldn't this industry face problems with digitalization happening globally?
Preprinting of large numbers of books is outdated , they should be stored online and printed as needed
They didn’t mean that they produce 300 books per second, it means if you divide the number of books being produced to 30 days then to 24 hours then to 60 minutes then to 60 seconds, we produce 300 books per second, it’s not rocket science
How much does the whole setup cost
I wonder how much all that machinery cost.
Probably more then you, I and a hundred others make in a life time. IDK, a lot
@@SuperMatt2112 Most likely true. Millions, tens of millions, hundreds of millions.

Lots of maintenance needed on those machines. The workers leaving things unadjusted, unattended to and with tools laying on odd spots is not good. Almost all books in Japan and Korea are printed with softcover. The only reason they are cheap is because they employ cheap labor. I will get my books printed in Korea or China (even cheaper) to sell across the world.

Might reevaluate the stated speed of operation.
No need to
Indeed, William. 300 books a second would produce the entire world's estimated yearly book sales in under 100 days.

I am starting to realise that soon this will be a lost craft.
Not for a long while yet, if ever. Book sales worldwide are estimated at over 2 billion a year; that's a lot of money still to be made.
People have reverted from smartphones back to dumb phones and they use e-readers to consume literature. Technology doesn't always completely replace other technology, the physical element is valuable for leisure and professional use.

Title is misleading,it is a clickbait
Prove it
@@daveklein2826 300 books a second would produce the ENTIRE estimated world's yearly book sales in under 100 days. So there's your proof, you person who picked a weirdly specific hill to be wrong on.
Title is nonsense.
"300 books in 1 second" nice clickbait
Where is this company?
Paju, gyeonggi-do, s. Korea
that's why China is the power full country

We need explanation, not music.

As nicely as this video is, It is NOT 300 BOOKS per second. Maybe 300 PAMPLETS a minute, but that is about all. But, all in all a nice video.

If I want to hear a piano recital I'll play a music video. I'm watching this video to see and hear the machinery. Please stop adding music to your otherwise wonderful videos! I'm tired of watching them muted.
