Hartenstien said in his first interview after the signing that he was excited to have a more shooting opportunity with okc. He is working on his 3 in off season. He wants a super max contract in 3 years
@@joeldriver-sp2rg so the player guarding him can stop the guards drives? Didn’t we see this with giddey already. Sure he might fail and we redirect course. 4 out and guards stop driving and shooting mid range? If he can’t shoot 3’s and force his defender out, we have to completely change our style of play.
@@awethinic8379 We're bringing Hart in specifically for rebounding. He's not getting any offensive rebounds standing around the 3 pt. line. We were about the worst in the NBA in that regard last year.
@@joeldriver-sp2rg the old rule was who ever had rebounding numbers won. We trade off steals and defense for rebounds. Sure we need better numbers against big teams and a different approach to those teams. But implying we abandon the 5 out offense just because we got ihart is crazy. I expect a more versatile offense and i also expect ihart to shoot more 3 than ever before. The glaring example of my point is how j dub and shai couldn’t get layups
Great video, but I actually think it'll be Jalen Williams who benefits most from Hartenstein's screens. SGA can honestly get wherever he wants without a screen, but JDub isn't as good at creating space on his own. We saw it against the Mavs, where JDub struggled to create advantages on his own. But JDub was #2 in the NBA in eFG% on pull-up jumpers last season, and with IHart in town, he's going to get more opportunities to hunt those shots. I think IHart's presence is going to unlock the last bit of JDub's offensive game and make him a borderline All-Star this season.
@@Bdog_45 no, the Gortat screen is where the ball handler puts his defender in jail and the big screens the other big clearing up the lane. The Varejao screen is where the big switches the side of the screen at the point of attack
It's great that OKC got Hartenstein but Thunder fans should know that GM Sam Presti gave away two players who would have been better and one of them is Sengun who averaged 21/9/5 last year and will be an all star at some point. The other was Lively who played a big part of why Dallas beat OKC in the playoffs. Not really sure what he was thinking getting rid of those two guys because if you put either one on that team last year they probably win it all.
@@alexlawson7022 21/9/5...not words but they tell the story if you know anything about basketball. Obviously you didn't watch OKC play Dallas in the playoffs. Lively was a big part of why they beat us. I guess go learn the game before you post.
@@joeldriver-sp2rg i mean this is definitely closer to the argument you want it to be, but it’s still not a set of premises that prove your conclusion. how would either of these big men who are not 3-point shooting threats fit into okc’s offense last year? do they really fit in the system in a way that would’ve elevated OKC’s ceiling above the mavs last year? if not, would an alternative system that accounts for their strengths and weaknesses be better than okc was last year? it’s entirely unclear if sengun would be the same player in okc that he is in houston, and it’s worth noting that his rockets missed the playoffs with considerably more experienced supporting players than okc had while getting the 1 seed last year. as for lively, it’s true that he killed okc in the second half of game 6 and played strong defense throughout the series. but there’s another explanation for why okc lost: PJ washington had the best shooting stretch of his life while OKC’s role players couldn’t hit a shot all series. if one or both of those things don’t happen, is the series even close enough for lively’s size to matter? it’s a bad sign for your argument when you default to accusing people who disagree with you of being uninformed instead of coming up with something that actually proves your claim true.
I still think we need one more 2nd/3rd string center. Ideally id want Olynik. Rui would be solid as a split 4/5, we could get him 26mpg and he might open the door to Chet at the 3. While it would never happen, my dream would to be to add Jonathan Issac.
OKC. Hoping for NBA. Next Champion 2024-2025

There's a video on him going around on Instagram that showed him going off at three point range as well🪣
We absolutely don't need him shooting 3s. He's a career 31% shooter and 69% on free throws so he's at best going to be liimited to 12 feet and in.

very underrated big man
Great vid

SGA scores easy without a pick by his shifty dribbling, with a pick it would be unfair!
Sneaky good pick up
