    Thanks so much for your videos. I can't afford to take my gun to a gunsmith but I read a lot and I am very meticulous. Without your videos, it would have taken me a lot of trial and error to figure these things out.

    I like how all the information was geared towards competition shooting. I will say this I have been shooting 75’s since the early 90’s for duty and Per Sec and the OEM parts last for thousands of rounds without fail. The occasional recoil spring, maybe a trigger spring or firing pin retaining pin. But the repairs for OEM stuff has been few and far between.

      @czarmorer  2 месяца назад +1

      Springs will give up regardless - It's just what eventually happens to springs, they wear :). The OEM ones do last a lot longer for sure though. Same with the slide stop - Eventually it will snap, so much so that CZ won't even warranty under the justification that it's a "wearable" part, meaning they know it will eventually give up.

    Excellent walk-thru! Simple and to the point. I also have replacement wearable parts for all my CZs (especially the hammer fired ones).

    22,000 on my Shadow 2 as of earlier this week, has had Cajun parts since day 1 almost, I did just replace the trigger return spring which was REALLY stretched out! Good video though. I have some of those spares in my bag, but not all. I need to place an order.

    • @czarmorer
      @czarmorer  8 месяцев назад +2

      I would keep slide stop around... not jinxing it, but it's likely your next point of failure. When will it happen? You may shoot another 22K rounds just fine...Who knows for sure? The only thing I know is that it will be snap at some point :).

      @@czarmorer got a spare slide stop. I’m honestly surprised it hasn’t broken yet.

    First part to wear out/break is usually the firing pin retaining pin. Aftermarket like CGW usually last much longer. Throw a couple in your bag.

    • @czarmorer
      @czarmorer  9 месяцев назад +3

      On the guns which actually have firing pin retaining roll pin (not the case of the Shadow2 illustrated here, but true for CZ-75s, SP-01 and others), it will wear faster if you're dry firing with no protection (see my other video about dry firing). With just live firing it will take you a lot of rounds to wear it out. But it's true, it will eventually wear out as well.

    Slide stops are only thing that has broken on my S2, after many thousands of rounds shooting USPSA.

    • @czarmorer
      @czarmorer  9 месяцев назад +4

      Slide stops are usually the first things to break. But your trigger return spring will give up at some point too.

    • @czarmorer
      @czarmorer  9 месяцев назад +1

      @j.bar3.077 right, dry firing also wear out the trigger return and firing pin springs. Extractors do fail as well, and I've fixed a few broken ones, but they are not considered wearable, so CZ will give you a new one as part of their warranty. Extractors will be more prone to break when using extra-power extractor springs, and/or hotter loads, or simply by what I would call unproper handling.... (when you load a bullet in the chamber manually (as opposed to via magazine loading) and let the slide close from locked position - This puts more stress on the extractors' lips than what they are designed to sustain continuously.

    Is there a maintenance schedule for CZ SP-01 for all parts that need to be replaced?

    • @czarmorer
      @czarmorer  3 месяца назад +2

      check my video on that for the shadow2. The wearble parts are pretty much the same between the 2 models. Just add the firing pin counter roll pin that may wear on your sp-01 prematurely if you dry fire with no protection... Everything else (springs, slide release etc) is the same

    So far I've replaced the trigger return spring at 15k rounds, broke a slide stop sometime after that, and now the disco seems to be failing at 20k (occasionally the DA pull does not move the hammer back).

    • @czarmorer
      @czarmorer  Месяц назад

      This might be related to your trigger bar spring instead - Your disco would take a lot long to wear out than just 20K rounds.

    Hi! Whats the weight on your recoil spring on a shadow 2 slide cut carry optics gun? Im debating between 11 or 12

    • @czarmorer
      @czarmorer  9 месяцев назад

      you will find people using anything between 10lb, 11lb and 12lb. I do believe the most popular choice there is the 11lb - that's also the one I used on my CO gun. And I do 10lb when shooting Production with it. You have to check on what works best for the ammo you're using though. I just wouldn't go too light (10lb is the lightest I would go on a CO gun) because of the stress it will put on your optics.

    Can you do a video to replace the trigger spring please?

    • @czarmorer
      @czarmorer  4 месяца назад +2

      Check on the videos I posted on how to disassemble the gun. I explain how to remove the trigger return spring. Put it back is kinda the same process in reverse order, except that you will benefit from using a slave to sit the spring before put the trigger bar + trigger back in the frame.

    Will a sp01 extended safety work in a Shadow 2 ? Im having a heck of a time finding a Shadow 2 compact extended safety .

    • @czarmorer
      @czarmorer  5 месяцев назад +1

      Unfortunately no - The SP-01 safety is a bit shorter than the Shadow2, it will not work. The TS series (TSO, TS2, Czechmate) safety can be fitted to the Shadow2 though. I have a Czechmate extended safety on my Shadow2 compact.

    One other issue you didn't mention for Shadow 2 is the Trigger pin which should be replaced when you do the trigger return spring to a Floating trigger pin since there was a recoil for the original trigger pin coming lose and falling out from the left side of it's pivot point. Else everything else is spot on.

    • @czarmorer
      @czarmorer  8 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you for bringing it up! You're right: The original trigger roll pin is normally replaced by a floating pin. I did not mention the trigger pin because it isn't considered a wearable part though, and it should never break under normal circumstances. And it actually can be reused, but it needs to be re-staked every time it is removed, and not everybody has the proper tools to do it right.

    • @alfredocuomo1546
      @alfredocuomo1546 8 месяцев назад +2

      It's actually the only part that fell out of my Shadow 2 since I bought it & I replaced it with the Floating trigger pin & Spring from CGW. I'm thinking of replacing the trigger & all the springs with the Eemann Tech Ultimate trigger & their spring kit with new extended firing pin, any feed back? @@czarmorer

    • @czarmorer
      @czarmorer  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@alfredocuomo1546 Most things from Eemann Tech are good - I've built several Shadow2s using their flat trigger as it seems to be a popular choice. As far as the extended FP, there are a few drawbacks of using it, such as the fact that they are more prone to break and perhaps more importantly, your Shadow2 will likely no longer be drop safe.

    • @alfredocuomo1546
      @alfredocuomo1546 8 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the feedback, I thought it was a great idea because it has slots for faster hit & return to equalize the pressure but I will need to check that, I treat it with kit gloves but you can always have an accident. Thanks again.@@czarmorer
