    Does anyone else find trucks with big rims and small tires odd looking? I feel like small rims and big tires on trucks looks much better.

    • @kedrshr1mp6
      @kedrshr1mp6 6 лет назад +101

      It's not just looks that matter, if you ever plan on offroading or even towing on those huge rims and low profile tires you are in big trouble. Spokes will snap towing, rims will bend and you will get punctures. Low pro's on trucks is a stupid trend that needs to die.

    As a truck guy what bothers me are the same things. I dont like camber gang style cars but I can see myself putting small amounts of camber on a track day car or sports car with the roads we have here. What bothers me with other truck guys is when they put huge amounts of lift on their 1500 and make it into a completely nonfunctional mall crawler. Another is when they buy rough country and think they are the baddest guys around with their cheap lift kit (I understand that banker really just wanted the 1.5 extra inches of lift in his case). That's why I plan on only buying a 4.5 inch BDS because i can truly abuse it and show it off and not have to buy lower steps or jump to get into my truck which i use all day long. This would be just the opposite for a car: if it's so low that it rubs and the tires are so thing that you crack your fancy wheels a little more everytime you leave the high school parking lot, you probably shouldn't have it so low / have such big wheels and thin tires

      If I had a dollar for every time my truck gets called a mall crawler just because it’s lifted and nice then I wouldn’t have to pay for my Ram 3500 I ordered out of pocket. I have a 10” lifted Silverado on 24x14 wheels and 40x15.5s. I daily drive, off-road, pull a gooseneck, etc with it. Nice+lifted doesn’t always mean mall crawler. People automatically say it nowadays. Their next response is “does it even go mudding”? No it doesn’t. It goes off-roading. Mudding is for the beater that I don’t care about because you’re intentionally going out there to screw stuff up. Off-roading takes more skill set than slinging rooster tails

    I would compare extreme camber to lifting a truck and not using it for offroad. Function of a truck is much higher if it is lowered if its never offroaded.

    The bayou by my office flooded the roads so I was stuck at work in my car until the water went down. I lifted my truck shortly after that. My truck has been through 3 floods since then, and that has more than pay for itself. I still daily my car, but I drive my lifted truck when there’s a chance for flooding.

    • @zososldier
      @zososldier 5 лет назад

      @@stillnottellingyoumyname8193 not everyone uses a truck for utility? Someone spending $30k+to restore an old 60s truck isn't going to load it down with gravel. Also, not everyone with a modern truck is pulling a 40 foot goose neck. They just use it to carry their dirt bike or carry a couch.

    Mall crawlers = slanty camber hot bois.
    If there is no varying degree of camber, then that means all those professional racecar drivers are part of stance nation camber gang. I really like what McLaren and Ferrari has been doing with their stance builds lately.

    Funny how accustomed you can get accustomed to switching back and forth from a relatively low car like a corvette and a truck with a six inch lift. Although the truck is definitely easier to drive in traffic due to the view. Also booby vision is another plus.

    Cali lean is not the same as the slanty wheel boys. Approach angle is useful, its derived from trophy trucks ad shit. And keeping the tailgate low makes it easy to load your dirtbike in the back, therefore its functional. 14 wides float nice in sand, therefore are functional.
