57 on snare, ev635a overhead and a 58 on the kick. it was recorded live so i had to sum it all down to one track on the 488 because you can only record 4 tracks at a time.
Thanks Jason! Yeah this band is awesome. They’re from the town in Oregon where I live. Super talented musicians. It was my first time recording a band playing the songs live instead of track by track which was daunting. This was recorded a couple of years ago and I had pretty limited gear. On another note I’ve been diggin the podcast you’ve been doing with Mike and I was sad to hear you’ve been cheating on your tape machines Jason! 😂 I know y’all joke about not many people listening to the podcast but I enjoy it quite a bit and hope you continue it. I haven’t used a daw for anything other than mixing down songs recorded on tape for over two years now so it’s fun hearing about other people’s experiences using the same process.
@@Govier AWWW man! I felt bad! What's worse is that I've really cheated this past month by recording in a DAW with my drummer. It was mostly a convenience thing. I try to treat the DAW like a 4 track though. Not over do it with number of tracks and I really only use the EQ plugin. So I kind of justify my actions so that I can sleep at night. 😂 Hopefully Mike and I can get together to record another podcast this month!
Good to see stuff from you again!
i do like this one for sure , good energy , authentic/original arrangement , unusual , interesting . I think its a new favourite song of mine now
Long time no see! Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks for checking it out!
That was awesome. Love how the bass and organ interact and the tempo changes are really nice. (The voices were a great surprise too!)
Thanks sleeping orchard! Yeah these guys are super talented no doubt. It was fun getting to record them.
This sounds great, really manic! How did you mic the drums?
