100% my aviation journey started on 16R at Van Nuys in a 1956 172. This film like the airport will always hold a special place in my heart.

First time I saw it when I was 16… I literally cried. It’s in my blood man. Took me till I was 28 to get my ticket but I did it and I’m flying my tail off.

Listening to this makes me remember back when I recorded my first solo, passed my flight test, and began flying cross country flights.
To me flying an aeroplane is quintessential meaning of life. 🙏🍀❤️

The first time I saw this clip at the age of 16, I cried. It really brought out the love I have had for flying since I was 3. That was almost 10 years ago. I’m now looking at starting to shoot for my pilots license.

2 years later, I’m a pilot and I have just sold my second airplane and bought my third. Watching this clip this morning, I teared up. It’s been a 25 year journey from when I was a kid. I finally made it. I can’t thank anyone else other than God for the way things just happened. Nothing short of a miracle in my opinion.

I watched this film in my class, ATC 271 C Airport Operations in Cypress College, CA. The opening part was so passionate. I watched the opening clip today and I can’t hold back my tears. So much History was created in Aviation. This has got to be my favorite documentary film. All I can say is Thank You for showing us the beauty of Aviation. Keep flying high and inspire.

+Christine Campbell Thank you! We're so glad you love it. We hope you have a chance to experience the dramatic difference between the remastered Blu-ray and the original DVD. We posted a Blu-ray promo video on our website (www.onesixright.com) that highlights the difference, but you really have to see the Blu-ray on an HDTV to fully appreciate it!

Watching this video brings a tear to my eye because it reminds me why I worked so hard many years to earn my pilots license...
Some people ask me what's its like to fly an airplane alone in the sky. I lack the poetic terms in mind to really describe except that there really is no greater feeling of pure freedom than being in control of an aeroplane up alone in the sky. To me that feeling is THE MEANING OF LIFE!
If anyone reading this has the itch or desire to learn to fly, please please go for a trial flight at your local aeroclub or flight school. You will immediately know if the flying "bug" has bitten you or not. Once the flying bug has bitten you, it will forever have a grasp on your soul.

I can tell you personally , that a piece of hardware in battle is useless without mechanical personnel to get them back into flying readiness when the time occurs .
These vidioes may look serine and have nostalgia , but really lack integrity when it come s down to fighting readiness of WW2 planes when needed to get the job done.
