How to print from ipad / iphone wired or wirelessly

I know many of you are using wireless print servers to print from your Selfie Stations aka iPad booths. Regardless of whether you are using a DNP WCM2 or a laptop computer for your print server, I can help you save your event with a simple $40 hack if your wifi is slow or ever goes out. This would also work if you are doing an event with lots of wifi interference or at a conference where they intentionally block your signal.
When photo boothing, backups are an integral part of your business. Even if you aren’t using these accessories, it’s always best to have these in your back up bag for when you need them. Watch this video as I go over these secret hacks to save you from ever having to give a refund. Make sure to watch until the end for my BONUS hack.

Your video was great. I did get the software / someone mentioned in the post. I got that and all connected via WiFi. The only problem I have is the image not printing in full 6x4 - trying to figure that out. If I had same year laptop you have - I’m sure it would of been flawless. I have a 2023 laptop. With a 13” Mac 2012 laptop

Ok so I have a regular venue with poor phone signal and useless wifi
So I want to use wired printing
I have an iPad 9th gen and windows 10 laptop
Lumabooth assistant works fine on WiFi, but doesn’t with wired LAN
I have a LAN adaptor and Camera Adaptor and tried all combinations
I’m running into an issue wirelessly. Where the text arnt going through because I have to connect to the printer. Will the wired adapter help with both printing and sending text at the same time?

Yes, if you watch the video, I have hard wired ipad to the computer NEVER to the printer directly. It doesn't work that way. YOu either have to have a computer or Aircast in between as it has the printer driver on there
I have a problem, I am using a DSLR to Ipad and Ipad to a DNP 620 with the WCM2 but it's not printing in stripes or 2x2x6. Do you know how to fix this?
Yes, you need to login to the portal and simply add 2x6/2

Hi Well I give it a go, I use an iPad Pro running lumabooth my laptop is a XPS 17 702x running Windows 10 64 bit , plugging the adaptor lead into the iPad it recognises ethernet cable and charge cable, upon connecting both ends the iPad does not communicate with the PC it shows the connection there , it just comes up with an identified network any help would be appreciated I have tried uninstalling the Ethernet connection and reinstall but sadly nothing happens am I missing something

Thank you so much for your hacks! Are amazing! So about this hack i had an issue on my last event. I use ipad air 2022 and lumabooth printing with dnprx1.
When i use this -Powertech PTH-046 USB-C- which the same adaptor but not Belkin, i had an overheating i pad and stop printing. So I have to put my old method with luma both assistant to continue my event. Do you believe was an issue from this adaptor? If i use Belkin will be fine ? Thanks in advance.

It 100% works. I did it. Are you using certified apple cable? Did you turn off firewalls. Are you able to print from Mac to printer without Lumabooth?
Yes- I end up getting a software installed on my laptop. I forgot its name. I’ll come back. With this. iPad sends to Laptop. Then usb from laptop to printer and Easy.

There is a setting that says internet connection in the portal

Some apps give you Free software to use with their iPad apps. If you don’t have one, you can use Printopia. It’s $19.99 lifetime license

Yes, the printer connects to laptop
while you are connecting the ipad with a windows laptop via an ethernet cable, can you use wifi with your phone't hotspot?

Does this work with all printers or just the printer you use in the video? I have an HP laser jet that has recently been compromised and would like to use it this way if possible.
The aircast pro is universal and works with most Dye Sub Printers. The HP is laser jet and not commonly used for photo booths. The drivers are in the units themselves. Very few printers have wireless built in. The canon Selphys do but are not cost effective for events

Can it be used on a Kodak 305 printer?
Yes, if you use the laptop method it will work. The WCM only works on dnp printers.
Just got the dongle and will try with Ethernet cable. I’ll be using a MacBook Pro. That’s ok - correct? It does not have to be windows laptop.
If you’re using a MacBook, you don’t need the adapter
you don't need a server, my ipad 9th generation can print over the home network (wired) (no wifi), without any additional apps installed(thru ethernet dongle), it can even directly print USB thru the lightning dongle, even wifi-direct is possible
Depends on if your printer is WiFi ready. This is mostly for sue subs in Photo Booth/ photography.

Almost any of the apps would function similarly

Does not need to be connected to the internet. The whole point is the ability to print when there is no internet

For WCM2 all I do is plug 🔌 power then ethernet cord to hub/ iPad then WCM2 to printer? And keep the wifi off? Does it still print if Wifi is on? 3:36
Yes. The ONLY reason I turned WiFi OFF is to prove it works without WiFi if you are in a bad area. You don’t need WiFi for the wcm2 to work. You can connect it directly. If you have WiFi on, you can text the photos to your clients
If I use either hack Ethernet or MacBook can I still use WiFi for photobooth to share images?
You should be able to use both concurrently. If you are connecting to WCM or Aircast, connect the portal to the WiFi to be able to send text and email 😊

I tried to hardwire like you said at the end, and based on some of the comments below, I need to install Printopia onto my Mac. However, when I go to install the application it says that it requires macOS 10.7. My Mac, though, is a 2014 version that is running version 10.12. Any ideas on what I can do? Great video. Thank you.

I installed the drivers, added the printer, and tried everything, but none of the options work to be able to print. @@user-gx4li5sw8f try test printer from the Mac. Any 4x6 photo. Make sure that works first and do process of elimination from there.

In this video, I show 4-5 ways of how to connect printer. Depending on the method you use, will determine if you use the dongle. For example, if you use the laptop, you don’t need dongle.

With either of these hacks are you still able to use the cellular on the iPad to text images? I’d like the iPad to talk to the DNP but also use the cellular of the iPad to send images out to text
Of course, when you are wired, you are using the Ethernet channel to talk to your printer. Does not affect your texts or emails

For a hardwire connecting… is the laptop connected to the printer?? With what cable is the printer connected to the laptop.
For hardwire the printer is either connected to a laptop or wireless connect module via a USB A to B cable.

iPad 2 (sharing station) using lumashare. It can’t connect to Lumashare, unless I turn on wifi and have iPad 1 connected to WCM via wifi

Hello Rex, with the hardwire to computer with the apdapters how are you keeping the iPad charged?
The adapters have 2 ports and allow you to plug in charging cable to keep iPad charged. Look in the description of the video. I have links to the adapters for you.

How old is your mbair. Mine is 2011 and working with Printopia

Can the qw410 print 2x6?
Yes, QW410 can do 2x6 WITH 2x6 perforated paper only. The Paper is perforated down the middle to allow for 2x6.
Would you happen to know if I would be able to print (2) 2x6 on 4x6 paper on it and just perforate it myself with a 2x6 cutter they sell on Amazon
Yes, you can print two 2x6 on 4x6 and use scissors or knife to cut

Set your printer to 2(2x6). Cut: enable

@@Rexsphotoboothreviews it doesnt give me those option, it shows A4, B5, A5, Letter, Envelope and when I pass the mouse over them it shows me the sizes which none include 4x6.
If it’s showing a4 etc then your printer doesn’t support it. What printer are you using

Will this work with Snappic print server?
If you are using Snappic Print server over Wifi, it should work. The programming and language is the same. The difference is it's wired versus wireless. When you get a chance, give it a try and let us know how it goes.
So for Snappic you can not do this iPad hack ?

With the WCM2 its dnp printers only. With the laptop, it’s universal
