FIRES ARE KEEPING US OUT

- We finally made it through the Canadian border and spent days driving just to be stopped by wildfires. Highway 97 is shut down near Fort Nelson. Everywhere is full because towns have been evacuated. Where do we go now? Will we have enough supplies to wait it out? Watch to the end to find out.

Thank you for streaming your adventures. As a house bound disabled veteran you are allowing me to see things I would never be able to see.
Thank you for your service!
God bless you for your service. I pray they can keep making videos for you. They are wonderful people to watch. 🙏📖🙏🧎♀️🙏🧎♂️ I pray for healing or for anything you need. In Jesus name...AMEN
Don’t forget to get some gold pans, then you can pan some of the creeks and rivers for enough gold to make another golden key then you’ll have one for the planet and another for the universe.😊
Sorry about being stuck. Stay safe always
. Thank you for sharing all of this with us all 🙏❤️🙏❤️
The red wooden grain elevator is a must visit place
They have great talents at the winter art competition in. Fairbanks. Loved watching it everyuear..
🙏🏼 for the ppl that live in the area where the fire is going on 🙏🏼
The people are being evacuated. Burning can last quite awhile.
But those ppl have there homes en land there , it’s not only the ppl life but it’s there living ,there history ,love , memories. So yes I 🙏🏼
Beautiful scenery. I’m so happy you’re filming your adventures. Thank you.
Was there 47 years ago my husband was in army we we gold panning alsome the sky's look closer to you The glacier is beautiful. You must go there. Love you all. Thanks
Fort Nelson is beautiful in winter. Bob
Prayers for those affected by the fires and that you can get on your travels soon❤❤❤
Have fun on your trip. In 2004 we were in Riverdale, ND, and we were taken by surprise that there was no use of debt/credit cards in 99% of the stores. We had to go to Bismark or Milton. It was fun but we had to go to the bank for them to contact our credit union to get cash. We started carrying cash in the RV.
You are making good time. My husband's cousin lives in Dawson Creek. Just be prepared to sit where you're at. It could be days to weeks before the road is opened again. Hopefully there will be rain soon.
Some ppl are slipping thru the unmanned check points. Weeks is ridiculous.
Closest I got to Canada was Seattle Washington. My Son was stationed on an island about 45 min. away from Seattle.
I am so excited for y’all! Happy Trails!
I loved the "I Closed Wolski's" sticker on the back of that sign. It was partially covered over but I know that sticker from a bar in Milwaukee. If you really would like a nice trip where there's lots of wineries and nature places. Door County Wisconsin is east of Green Bay and it's a great place to enjoy. On Washington Island there's a lavender place where there's a big field of lavender. I really think you would enjoy it. If you ever want to stay in your RV in Milwaukee there's a RV park in State Fair Park. It's just minutes from downtown Milwaukee.
Welcome to B.C hope you get through the forest fires safely
Fort Nelson was evacuated a few days ago the evacuees were sent to FT STJohn so that town maybe very busy,..
My great grandfather helped build that highway have many pictures of the highway being constucted
I'm sorry you are being held up by the wildfires . Hope you find something to do until you can get into Alaska. Prayers and Love 💞 From Oklahoma .
That is beautiful traveling. Especially with the mountains.
Theres a Peace River in Charlotte County Florida also. Im loving your views on the Highways
The payphones in the UK would have a card slot. You could buy prepaid cards for phone calls. Your credit would show on the digital screen when putting the card in. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Thanks for the info!
You can get to Watson Lake, Yukon, up the Stewart/Cassiar Highway. The Alaska Highway is still closed going north
Yes, we know. But going around from where we are now is a 3 day venture.
Love following your adventures. Places I’ve never seen but now feel like I’ve been there.
Love the mountains….
Isn’t Canada gorgeous?!! I went to Niagara Falls back in 85 and we crossed the border and drove thru Canada to get there, I was very impressed with the care of their highways. But the countryside was breathtaking! Drive safe you two!! ❤️❤️
Hello Madam Mayor Therese and Brett.I am hearing North to Alaska playing in my head😅. Good thing John Wayne is my favorite actor😅. Oh mylanta a real pay phone😂
You two are so cute. Enjoying you both so much. Thank you ❤.
How exciting. You made it to Alaska. Can't wait to watch the whole video. Thanks for taking g us with you. Safe travels
Unless you have your heart set on sitting, the route to the Stewart Cassiar is beautiful too. Carvings in Chetwynn, Smithers is a cute town, lots of old totem poles in both Hazleton. And Kitwankool, glaciers into Stewart and Hyder. The road isn’t as bad as you may think and there are fuel stations on the way. Just fill when you see one. Of course it’s your choice, and you can come back down the Alaska Highway
We are giving it thought. Waiting to hear back from the officers who are spending the day in Fort nelson due to burglaries. We're at Pink Mountain waiting. So it's a really long way around the other way. And we'd miss the hot springs at Liard, which we were really looking forward to.
Hello Madam Mayor and Brett, that was a beautiful view, with the snow on the mountains. I had a great job. I drove a cab for ten years in Utah and loved it. The mountains and ski resorts are 15-25 minutes from D.T. S.L. The only thing is, since the WINTER OLYMPICS, the population has grown so much I am starting to feel like I am back in Long Beach CA. When we moved to UT. (cultural shock) I had one year left in High School and if you're not a mormon 🤷♀️ it was tuff. THANK GOD I HAD ONE YEAR...anyway, hardly ANY cars on the roads/freeway on a Sunday. I worked night shift for thirty three years. Mormons go home at 5pm and bed my 9. and the big city shuts down. I did moved back CA for a couple of years, but I got used to less traffic, some smog and the beautiful mountains surrounding you. So I came back to UT. Enjoy your journey. Gods Angels😇😇😇 surround you and your home 🙋♀️
🙏 📖 🙏 🧎♀️ 🙏 🧎♂️
Thanks for sharing Madam Mayor and Brett, 🙏🙏🙏for all the fires hope everyone stays safe, wow how beautiful im glad your taking me along with you I've always wanted to see Canada and Alaska now your showing it to me, I appreciate you both stay safe sending love from across the planet Australia 🩷🩷🩷
Our pleasure!
My nickname used to be on there x4. I’ve driven the AlCan 4 times. I drove it 2 times in the winter and 2 in the summer back in the 90s. The Yukon shut down tighter than Ft Knox after the sun went down. So you had to plot every stop and make sure you had enough gas and that you made your next stop before the sun went down.
We lived in Whitehorse for 28 years, first drove the Alaska Highway in 1989. Don’t forget to stop in Watson Lake at the Sign Post Forest.
Our rest areas in WV have stations like that you can get water ,toss your garbage in their dumpsters and your waste...every state should have those as you call it " dump stations " really great for travelers..
I have seen a few in florida, but not many. Along I-10, I believe.
Had I known you'd be passing so close we would have offered you somewhere to park the RV for a night. Dawson is only about 90 minutes west of where I live. Be careful going north. The highway to Fort Nelson is closed due to fires. Been a bad year for it already. Little bit of info. The Alaska highway actually starts in Edmonton, Alberta. You'd go north through Grande Prairie and on to Dawson from there.
Love the traveling sights. Have fun!
Thank you! Will do!
You guys need to collect all those little flags for tub town baby 🩷🩷🩷
I’m excited watching Madam Mayor & Brett, as I won’t get the chance to visit myself. Thank you for letting me travel along with you. Beautiful scenery & Loved the stickers Board at the Border Crossing. Really Cool. Hope you get a chance to pan for gold - you could strike it rich😊.🙏 Prayers for all affected by the fires & for your continued safe travels. 🫶💕😎🇦🇺
I think there used to be a TV show called Dawson's Creek...😮
Note to self. When you don’t see transport trucks moving on that busy highway start to rethink the route! Enjoy your time exploring while you wait it out. Fires are so unpredictable.
The views are so beautiful
Alaska is on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing your adventures
One of my favorite places
Stay safe 🙏 on your travels. God bless you 2..
Thank you, I will
You're in Canada>>> you should come visit Vancouver island , there are a lot of amazing camping areas on this island..
Aah, the Alaskan highway. Hopefully, the roads are paved better.
So far, so good. Now this dang fire needs to be suppressed so we can pass.
Omg. I say cool to much. Glad I found you guys on RUclips. Safe travels. See you guys next time. To anyone else stop at the Taylor Visitors Center and see Amanda or Marie. Lol. Love to see you all.
My aunt, uncle and cousins live in Milton. Y’all be safe. Praying for no uncomfortable interruptions. Peace and love from Chattanooga
My Family(cousin) owns Milton Bakery ❤

I SPENT MY HONEYMOON ON A GOLDWING MOTORCYCLE AND WE TRAVELED 3,000 MILES FROM MID CALIF. TO ALASKA DOWN THE ALKAN HIGHWAY....WHAT A TRIP....A LOT OF GRAVEL IN THE DAY 1981
Hon I live BC you may be sitting there for weeks. You a really should take the other route.
I think you're right ....the town is evacuated, and the fire is very close...it's gonna be a while
You made good time.
Now we wait.
3 hrs drive from where I live
I just watched the 10:00 news. The high today at Key West was 115. Wow that's really hot.
Sounds miserable
Thanks I am living my life through you. Its great to see all the places you are going to. Uk
Fires have started much earlier this year. Here in Manitoba our north is also burning. Regarding the canoe and the distance Mackenzie travelled being in miles, was not too surprising. The metric system came into effect in 1975 here in Canada. I still multiply by .6 to get the mileage when driving. Most still use feet and inches for our height and lbs for our weight. Also for carpentry it is usually in inches..
I didn't know that. I always thought the metric system made more sense being based on 10. Especially tools. Fractions or millimeters? Metric is way easier.
Good luck!
Nothing better than clean windows. Bugs when traveling can get messy.

Your dream becomes real . Have a nice time traveling to Alaska

Take the longer scenic route..The fires will be burning for some time. They are evacuating people who live here..
Considering it, but don't like to think about it. It's pretty far around the other way over 2500 km.
Come say hi if you make it to the Kenai Peninsula Soldotna Sterling area. It's a good central point for the whole Peninsula. My wife Penny is the Postmaster in Soldotna.
We do hope to make it down there. We like a good postmaster!
@@MadamMayorsAdventures Happy to say she is going to retire in Oct this year, enough is enough, I retired with 25 in USPS last June and USAF retirement in 1995

Beautiful scenery! Love learning the “local” history from your travels. Praying for rain and fire control.
Us too!
Thank you Madam Mayor and Brett for taking us with on your travels, two states I've never been to are Alaska and Hawaii and I really don't care about Hawaii so seeing this thru the lens of your video camera is really awesome, due to health reasons I will never get to Alaska to see it with my own eyes so seeing B.C , Yukon and Alaska with you two is a great treat for me to watch. I look forward to your next video. Keep it up, thanks.
Praying for rain too for the fires and your safety. Have a Blessed Time
That canoe looks like a Viking ship!
Serious lack of traction or Tire grip with all that sand on the highway... not to mention what it's going to do to your rig, above and below...LaxvespaLosAngeles
Congratulations on making it to the Alaskan Highway
