    And nobody's even mentioning the fact that the guy is actually a great singer

    The biggest thing I enjoy from these videos is how open you are when it comes to using presets
    Sometimes I get into my head too much and feel a little less creative when I'm using presets
    Thanks for this

    im very impressed by both your ability to so closely recreate the sound of the original songs, and also to be able to explain what you're doing in a clear and concise way. most people who do the former can't do the latter, thank you!

    That ‘ng’ singing tip is so sick. Where did you learn that? Are there other sounds to base you vocal take on?

    • @theindiemusiclab
      @theindiemusiclab  Год назад

      Isn’t it though?! It seriously works.
      I don’t remember which vocal coach I learned that technique from the first time, but my friend Tyler Wysong is an awesome voice coach, and in working with him, this technique became solidified as an invaluable tool. Feel free to check out Tyler’s channel. He’s awesome.
      And yes, a few of my favorite sounds besides “ng” are “bee” “buh” “Vee” and “yeah”

    How do you avoid a muddy mix when using both a room & hall reverb? Love your videos btw.

    • @theindiemusiclab
      @theindiemusiclab  Год назад

      The most effective way to quickly remove mud when using reverb is to use the low cut EQ feature on your reverb and cut away everything from around 300-600 hz and down.

      @kupeomusic Год назад

      @@theindiemusiclab Cool, cool. Do you ever mix the two reverbs together? Have the plate reverb accentuate more of the highs vs the room focus more on the mids? Or perhaps have one reverb wider than the other?

    • @theindiemusiclab
      @theindiemusiclab  Год назад

      For sure. I don’t really focus on what the precise approach is. I think it’s better to tinker around with interesting combinations until you stumble on a sound you like.
