Rula won the argument. Naftali was not wrong, but his points were the same simplistic rhetoric that we hear over and over. Rula's point about the contrast between Israel's rewarding of violence in Gaza and the way they engage the West Bank was quite strong and a take that you don't hear often.
Naftali was wrong. He said Gaza is a 'state'. No definition of the word state conveys the status of Gaza
@Frost Gaza has never been self governing in its history. Hamas, doesnt control thé air space, water ways, any of thé exits, who comes and goes into Gaza, its imports, its électricity supply, its water supply or its électromagnétique space and its population register. Only 1 Overiding Authority exists in the area that initially was described as Palestine : Israël. John Duggard and a group of respectéd international law experts discused Gaza. Their unanimous consensus ? Israël in spíte of its physical withdrawal from Gaza remains thé occupying power.

The formation of two states is not based on ownership. The mandate outlined two states; Isreal and Palestine. We still do not have a Palestinian state today. No argument around that.

Naftali Bennett expressed himself very well on CNN. They let both him and the woman express themselves. I love Fox, but it is preaching to the choir a bit. CNN is well worth the breath, as is Fox!

Nah, Naftali is right. There will be no casualties if Hamas did not bombard Israel with rockets. Hamas must stop using human shields and then ask for symphathy of people. They are using their own women and children as pawn. It just makes people see that Palestine can't negate Israel and the Jewish people its connection to the in terms of history, culture and religion. What Hamas is doing is just creating drama and emotionally blackmailing people specially the overzealous left wing westerners. Israel is here to stay even if you cry out to your arabic god.
Every time Naftali states that Isreal has 'given' land, he should mean 'give back land we previously took'. If the state of New York was given to another country, based on the diplomacy of other nations, without asking the US, the people of New York would rightly feel like being occupied, especailly if portions of New York were additionally cut off from the rest of the US. Very simply analogy that I feel holds true and honest.
There was UN convention in 1947 in partitioning Palestine into 2 states: one for the Jews and one for the arabs. 33 countries voted for it. And the resolution has been passed. Israel accepted it while Arabs rejected so now, Israel has a state of their own while arabs don't. It was not taken for your information.

Naftali, I love everything that you have to say on the subject, but unfortunately this isn't a platform where you're able to convey it effectively. CNN is just not worth wasting your breath on, they are the quintessential example of what Rashi says in this weeks parsha: הלכה עשיו שונא את יעקב. Thank God there are those out there, like the people over at FOX News who are not this way, but CNN does not allow for you to be able to express yourself as truly befits you.
