it looks kind of nice. but with that pin holding the axe head onto the shaft, i bet if you hit anything more solid than that wood plank showning being split, the wooden shaft will snap from the force of the blow.
Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that he made a saw into an ax like 2 tools used for chopping trees and wood and he turned one into the other lol
@@ramiromoreno1386 you dont temper mild steel cuz its not hardenable. Not enough carbon content. So if you went through the process of "hardening" the steel, then u just wasted time
I'm curious..and wonder if you could share in your wisdom as to what about it makes it fall short of a proper ax ? Is it the material ? the weight ? style ? all the the above ? The way he attached it to the handle maybe .? So as to avoid making same errors or avoid bad techniques
@@ijaripanju3408 The single pin fastening method along with the thin blade material makes it a nice piece of art but nonfunctional as an axe. The blade material will NOT stand up to heavy blows and is better suited for a knife used for slicing not chopping. Nice skills though. For example, old saw blades like this make great fillet knives using the same stock removal process. Oh, and NEVER use one pin to fasten a handle to anything as it allows too much movement.
@@GH-or7lx thank you , I really appreciate the info . Matter fact I like your idea about making a fillet knife from a saw blade . And after doing some actual wood chopping since my post I have a better appreciation of what you guys said , and yes regardless he has talent for making a nice looking prop .
I like your talent lot's of love's from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🥰🥰
I like the look of bearded axes. Cool job.
Very nice decorative art. Don't go hitting or using it to hard or often it will break at the screw.
Yep, seems a very flimsy means of "securing" the blade. After all that work, too.
This type it’s easy to separate the blade from handle because of its design and axes with an eye are more sturdy
That is a great job..congrats..note 10

I love watching these videos
I’ve always thought saw blades were to thin but this is awesome!!!!
These saw blades are made of junk steel, only the welded teeth are hard.
Oh so you think he made them hard in the furnace?
But actually hard or not I was talking about thickness anyway so what did that have to do with my question lol?
@@pavloszimbrakos4410 you can make this steel hard he didn't have it hot enough saw blades will keep a nice edge though ive made knives from them

Those dark blue spots from the grinder, are from the metal being over heated. Enough stress will break the blade if you don't heat treat it.
How do we treat it??
Thank you for telling me cause I was real confused.
@@yahyaplayz329 put it in the kiln , or the forge coals them quench .
@@yahyaplayz329 heat it and cool it for even periods. After heating, let cool slowly in pearlite or sand to prevent breaks
@@madpatriot7464 I've seen guys use toaster ovens for this. Max the little bugger out, then set a time for an hour and a half. Then quench in sand.
amazing

Rppppppp
Yes I agree. I would make the handle larger at the top and use four pins actually drilled and set the whole thing in epoxy
Good
Amazing KK Daily .... watch this channel. that's the master

nice video
Trabalho incrível parabéns
Greetings from Croatia,
Wow, that's how you chose to attach the blade??? Again, how long before it broke?
Oooph, how long before it bent or broke? Metal it too thin for a weapon and you need to go full red hot before quenching.
Nice job 👍🏻 on the axe 🪓 bro.
Great 👏👏👏😊👍
Very nice!

How long should i temper a half inch machete of mild steel

In a fight with the cyclops you better be a good sprinter. That axe is about as much use as a wax fire guard

Why all the extra cutting when a bandsaw will easily follow such a shallow curve? Ps that sleeve nut will not take any kind of side loading.
