Very nice build! One of my goals is to build a mono tube like that ... Refurbishing a SB-220 at the moment... Its been a fun learning project... I have a SB-200 under my bench to do next... The biggest hurdle has been acquiring the proper test equipment to work with... My NANO VNA v2 has only been utilized for antenna builds... Tuning pass through it will be handy... A clean signal makes better contacts ! You want all the power on the frequency you want and within the bandwidth you want. A few extra watts does nothing if it is outside the channel you want. Just wasted power. Love the input and output networks. Nice wide straps ! Keep tube with in data sheet and it will last a long long time. Best for new old stock tubes light the filament with air flow only for like 24 HR . 160 meters will need more inductance on plate choke and glitch choke. And the tuner caps may need a padding cap to get in tune range. That why a lot of 160 meter amps have extra caps threw a switch contact on band switch. Just becomes more work and a bigger case . You could add swamping resistor for 100 watt radio . But most 100 watt radios will dial back to 60 watt with ease. better for the radio . 73
Awesome build. I would like to get some more information about this build. Do you have the information on the guy making the tube sockets? I would like to buy one of these tubes. If you could please post the information on the tube socket. Thank you.
@@damong7276 Yes I use the most expensive caps in it. As i do in all my bulds. A fully assembled Cap and bleeder board is $250 I also have a rectifier board for $50. emai me sales@xelectroshop.com
Very nice build. Totally agree - always show the spectrrum.

Sockets are not sold to the public yet. My supplier is in Ukraine and makes custom sockets for me and a few of my buddies.
@NeedleBender785 is it possible to purchase one? I would like to try & build this amp just like you. BTW great job on this build.

Where do you get your capacitor bank boards from?
I design and make my own boards. Thats a capacitor bank with integrated bleeder resistors.
What are you using for anode strap/band metal and where can I source it? What are you using for the anode clamp?
@@AB1Vampire I get metal on eBay, those are brass straps 0.5mm thick by 25mm wide. Copper works good also.
Have you listened to CB lately. It's like a psych ward!
@@kd5yut haven’t been on the radio much lately, spent a lot of time in the shop.
