Hi Alice, i think one way to preserve a candied painting like this would be to use a clear spray paint, of course if you'd rather only use edible items it would be more difficult. I'm not very experienced but why not try a candied painting on rice/sugar paper making it entirely edible. Anyway love your art, i wish i had the confidence in my art to post it for anyone and everyone to see. Love Ella
MEET UP ANNOUNCEMENT: I will be at FORT COLLINS COMICON THIS WEEKEND! (August 26-27, 2017) If you want to meet me, passes are still available, I'll be sharing a table with my friend Emily, and we will be there all weekend! If you're in Colorado or the Front Range area I'd love to see you and say hello! I'll also be selling prints & other merch!
I love your art videos, and painting with candy is such a cool idea!! What do you think using something like fundip would do? It's almost like a pigment- that could be pretty interesting to experiment with.
Alice, that looks really good! I will always love your art work. I couldn't really put so much time to these challenges (unless I really, really want to.). thanks for putting SO MUCH determination and time into your AWESOME channel. You are AWESOME!
hi Alice!! I really like art, and I've been looking at getting some better markers then just Crayola. can you do a video on the best and worst alcohol based markers? p.s. ILYSM 💖💖
You soooooo should get copic markers. I recently got some and they are super great. I love love love them. The think is they are really expensive but worth it!
Skittles are the choice of prisoners who paint in prison. They make watercolour from the sweets, and brushes from their own hair. Some of the work is really clever. Good try.. I tried it a few times as a kid using smarties. Lol.. Till my Mother got fed up of removing the sticky remains off my bedding, and bought me my first pallet.. It was a tin with 12 colours in it, the tin had a Lion, a mouse an Elephant and Giraffe on it. I was 5 and haven't stopped painting since!
I'm so into Project Runway! The unconventional materials challenge is always interesting - pieces seem to either be totally mind-blowing, or a complete flop. The colours you got from the candy are surprisingly vibrant. Cool idea!
Mollyssuperfans c: Art is awesome, and this way, if you don't like what you've made, you can just eat it! (If that's what you meant. If you just meant art is awesome, I still completely agree!)
I love Jolly Rancher candies too! I also did this challenge in school, as a class project. The biggest problem is permanence the "color dyes/' are just not long lasting! We had better luck with actual plants, berries and barks were the best paints/dyes we found back in those days! Super video Alice! Keep them coming!!!
THIS TURNED OUT SO FREAKING LOVELY ALICE, JUST WOW :O The video with your nail polish challenge was one of the first ones I watched from this channel I think, and definitly what made me fell in love with it. So cool! And yea, Project Runaway is such an inspiring program to watch!
This was an interesting experiment and definitely looks too! Just curious, do to think that alcohol would've been a better medium instead of water though?
I'm only 10 years old and you have lifted my spirit and give me so much inspiration. Every day I want to draw and paint because of you. I just wanted you to know you're videos are so inspiring to so many people around the wold🦄
I wonder if black licorice (sp) would have given you a darker shade? grey? But great job. I'm not an artist but I have recently subscribed to your channel because you're inspiring and you do very well! Not surprised that you have over 208K subscribers.
Hi Alice! I'd like to see you draw more realism stuff, like portraits / etc, I just watched your reacting to old art video and I love how real you made it look :)
Modge podge works for things like that. Once the painting is done but you don't want it to get ruined by anything you can put a layer of modge podge up and over it it waterproofs the painting/drawing. I think it would work to make the candy not so sticky.
Hi Alice.. that turned out really great. It was a lovely style drawing... and I'm surprised you were able to draw with the candy in the first place! What a great challenge! It was good to hear your thoughts on it. I probably wouldn't be able to do this challenge coz I'd just eat it all before I even got to the painting part, lol. Loving the After Effects touches that you've been adding to your videos recently :-)
I LOVE the unconventional supply challenges on P.R. so I guess I was expecting to see you do a multi/mixed media 3D type art piece rather than just watering the candies down into a dye base (like using food coloring). Maybe next time you could do a 3d candy art piece? Still fun to watch. :D
SoCraftastic did a painting with Skittles video and Fun2Draw did a painting with chocolate one. I really like this concept idea and the sting rays are adorable! Well done luv. x 😊
Hi Alice! My aunt got me a sketchbook, drawing kit, and how to draw book. Haven't used the sketch book yet cause I don't know if it can hold watercolors. How do I test?
Dont worry you dont have to say sorry for your voice ots fine everyone has those days when then there sick dont worry an di love tour videos your amazing and really talented im a young artist i love to draw and your one of the people that inspire me your awsome and i love you!!!💖💖💖
This is so cute and a fun idea! Did you have to wash your hands a lot during this? XD You might be able to take something like this and put it in a laminating sleeve and laminate it? That might totally destroy it because of the heat though.
Wait...you have blue skittles? *MINDBLOWN* but seriously, you do? Wow. I dont know if i have ever had a blue sweet(irish side coming out). Im pretty sure there is something in blue and purple dyes that are banned in Ireland(and england). Why,I dont know. You did really good though condidering your circumstances(of painting with sweets)❤❤❤❤.
HulloAlice you don't sacrifice that much (I used a continuation of finger painting and using makeup brushes for watercolour) you can still use them afterwards and it is a good excuse to buy makeup ;) (got 3 palettes of 12 colours and now I have beautiful blue and turquoise eyeshadow I had been eyeing for months lol)
Ok so I might be slightly very overly obsessed with skittles... I also knew they would work the best from unfortunate experiences with hot weather and skittles😂 (that's what I get from living in the Australia lol)
You could have used warheads because they melt in my hand all the time :/ great video though! You also could have maybe used licorish I'm not sure if it would work though

i would have never imagined something like this
and it was really fun watching it!

Even painting with candy your good at!
I wonder if you can spray "spray adhesive" on it to preserve it x
I love your art, your so good and my inspiration
hi Alice!! I really like art, and I've been looking at getting some better markers then just Crayola. can you do a video on the best and worst alcohol based markers? p.s. ILYSM 💖💖
I haven't tried enough to really say, but Baylee Jae has a great video about it :)
You soooooo should get copic markers. I recently got some and they are super great. I love love love them. The think is they are really expensive but worth it!
I recommend touchfive, dont listen to those ppl who say get promarker and copic they are expensive
Yes, I have those two, and they work fabulous and they're cheap. But mine don't have a brush tip which is very bummy...
that "[gasp] CaNdy?!1?1!1?" Tho. Same

I would rather eat the candy then to draw with them tbh
Merdog AJ you could draw/paint on an edible paper and then eat the art!
That's the best idea I have ever heard
Merdog AJ aw thanks!
Mollyssuperfans c: Art is awesome, and this way, if you don't like what you've made, you can just eat it! (If that's what you meant. If you just meant art is awesome, I still completely agree!)
Mollyssuperfans c: Oooooh okay! Id love to see some of your art, do you post it anywhere?
I love Jolly Rancher candies too! I also did this challenge in school, as a class project. The biggest problem is permanence the "color dyes/' are just not long lasting! Woooow I just LOVE your challenges!! :D
I love your painting with candy
Ily! You're so talented, Alice!

U helped me get into art and I love I have decided to try and start a art challenge ! But I think I need to get a bit better !💗
Alice is so talented she should be getting more followers!!!!
This was an interesting experiment and definitely looks too! Just curious, do to think that alcohol would've been a better medium instead of water though?

A new meaning to "Taste the rainbow" XD
I only subscribed a few minutes ago and already got a notification! Amazing video. ♡♡
YASSS welcome to the Wonderland Fam!
Maybe if you seal it with some spray sealant it’ll tame the stickiness and preserve it a bit better?
I'm a fashion student in a college. I once made a skirt from walmart bags. It went into a fashion show
Hi Alice! I'd like to see you draw more realism stuff, like portraits / etc, I just watched your reacting to old art video and I love how real you made it look :)
This video was so inspiring
100% in awe at everything u do it's amazing
I love love love art challanges!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Candy and art Together are the best combo
Oh no I want to eat so much candy now 😭
I watched this video one thousand times and I still love it so much!
couldn't you preserve if by laminating it?

Hard black candy? Salmiakki!
Wow this is amazing! And it really looks good for being drawn with candy~
That's a neat idea! I think I would be tempted to lick the art afterwards if I did this xD Maybe dissolving the candy in alcohol would work better?
Project Runway obsession? I can definitely relate :D Gotta love Tim Gunn!
Awesome video! Also the reference from your last video was so funny! Lol
I wonder if fixative would combat the stickiness? Great video! I wonder if it is possible to do grayscale with liquorice... :D
When another you said 'Candy?!' You gave me a heart attack 😂 I was like 'woah crap!'
Maybe to help it keep it could be laminated?
Oml I gotta try this challenge out!! 💗
DO IT!!! It's tasty.
It turned out really well!
You should try this again and then seal it afterwards! Maybe it would help! Like with matte or glossy sealant.
Alice pls try Artist loft makers pls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll look into them!
Yay thx!!
HulloAlice Can you please do more tutorials💞
Nixie Cy I love the Artist Loft markers! The only thing I dont like is how stiff the brush nib is... But everything else is great!
Lindsaystar yah but idk if they have refills i mean they probably dont
Cuz in canada i got them for 3 dollars for each marker
I am definitely going to have to give this a try!
alice go girl keep up the goood work i was wondring if u could do a speed paint of alice in wonder land i am trying and failing

Her art is so good

Well actually there's several videos of painting with chocolate, but that was the one I watched.
You are such an amazing drawer!
Lololol I was half asleep watching this^^ your voice is soothing :3
Reminds me of crayola watercolors actually lol! They way they are shiny and don't dry and have that weird texture and are kind of always sticky
Would it help to spray hairspray on it to get rid of the stickiness?
Yummy illustration!
Hi Alice! My aunt got me a sketchbook, drawing kit, and how to draw book. Haven't used the sketch book yet cause I don't know if it can hold watercolors. How do I test?
So cool! Love this idea!
I love your videos!! You inspired me to carry on doing art :) I'm sure you will be very well known in the future 😊😊😊
Dont worry you dont have to say sorry for your voice ots fine everyone has those days when then there sick dont worry an di love tour videos your amazing and really talented im a young artist i love to draw and your one of the people that inspire me your awsome and i love you!!!💖💖💖

Good Art, I Love It!
Edible art
I love candy! I don't think I could do this challenge because I would eat it all before I could use it

You seriously deserve more likes
I did the eye shadow challenge! Turned out really well (thanks to the plethora of colours on the sleek makeup eye shadow palettes)
I keep wanting to do that one! But I can't bring myself to sacrifice good eyeshadow, and I know buying cheap eyeshadow won't give great results xD
HulloAlice you don't sacrifice that much (I used a continuation of finger painting and using makeup brushes for watercolour) you can still use them afterwards and it is a good excuse to buy makeup ;) (got 3 palettes of 12 colours and now I have beautiful blue and turquoise eyeshadow I had been eyeing for months lol)
you could've used sugar or salt to create texture too!
I bet you could have preserved if you had topped it with mod podge (sorry if I spelled that wrong lol) or some other clear glue.
Ok so I might be slightly very overly obsessed with skittles... I also knew they would work the best from unfortunate experiences with hot weather and skittles😂 (that's what I get from living in the Australia lol)
I love ur art Alice! Now I don't need to buy paint... I just need to buy candy (eat and draw wow candy is so useful)
You could have used warheads because they melt in my hand all the time :/ great video though! You also could have maybe used licorish I'm not sure if it would work though
Everyday I wait for u to upload and when u dont ,I watch ur old vids waiting one day for u to upload !💗💗💗😊#WONDERLAND FAM💗
It's so gorgeous! :3
When her candy art is so much nicer than anything you can create lmao
Why does this look better than me painting with actual paint!! 😍
You are the colour of my picture Alice!!!!
Ur absolutely AMAZING
Hi I heard of u and u made me like to draw and u made me like art
I love it! (and Nerds
Maybe you could have crushed up the sweet tarts into a powder and then let them dissolve in hit water? Idk.
god, you make gorgeous art
Would u be able to put mod podge over it?
o noo
i could've eaten those... how did you do this without eating all of it... i admire you more and more every day
+Sanja Zivkovic I ate a lot of it 😂😂 I hated using so many blue Skittles because they're my favorite hahaha!
HulloAlice i still admire you tho😂😂
