What a great look. Love the technique, how simple you made it look. I appreciate someone who can simplify a beautiful technique and look the way you did.
Hi Suzanne! How exciting! As you know, service times will vary based on the client's hair, desired lightness, and speed of the application, but outside of filming, this particular color service took around 2 hours from start to finish.
Thank you so much for this! Clear. Concise. Camera angles are perfect!! If you're dealing with hair that has been highlighted (balayage application) once, say 60% of the hair is virgin still, how would one go about efficiently lightening the Virgin hair and trying to keep the same color.... or would that just add demension?! Should i isolate the previously lightened hair? Help!
Hi Liza! You can still use this technique on previously lightened hair provided you are mindful about overlapping etc. Some even like to apply conditioner with a brush on the previously lightened ends to help condition and avoid overlap. Using multiple brushes for application (one for applying lightener, one for feathering it upwards towards the scalp, and one for conditioner (if applicable) can make a world of difference! At the end of the service, you can tone all over, helping to blend and soften any differences in color, lift, etc. We hope this answers your question!
Hi! Thank you so much-- in this video, we did not do a base break, but if you are looking to do one, we might recommend looking at the NUA series in our permanent line as it helps to cancel warmth at lower levels while providing the lift you're looking to achieve. We hope this helps!
Love your video! But I have a question. Although you left the hair in the back. How would you go about sectioning/placing foils in the back for the client that want more blonde?
Hi Yvonne! You can do it in a number of ways. The simplest way would be to continue the mohawk section beck into the occipital and below using the same weaved foilayage technique. You could then do one to two back-too-back foils vertically at each side of the nape to bring out the blonde if she were to wear her hair back a lot. We hope this helps!
I tried mohawk section once (teasylight) and I felt it looked more strippy with how the foils line up horizontally from the front. How do I prevent that please?
Hi there! Try teasing a bit more to allow for better diffusion of the lightened pieces with the natural hair. You can also try initially going a tiny bit further off the scalp and taking the time to feather the lightener upwards with a separate, clean brush to help soften the demarcation. We hope this helps!
Hi, Lolita! Are you speaking to how the hair is detangled after shampooing? Using a great conditioner will help to alleviate the teasing in the application. A good one to use would be Kenra Platinum Luxe Shine Conditioner. We hope this helps!
Hi Lesley! She was lifted to at least a clean Level 9. The formulas used are spoken to in the video and listed in the description, but the toner was ultimately a combination of 8B and 8VV in demi. Thank you so much for watching! x
Hi Kiley! For this particular look, the mohawk section was lightened far enough back so that the hair naturally falling in the back would be lifted. We also wanted to maintain some contrast and not an overall blonde effect. It's a wonderful way to do a partial with lots of lift and less foils. Thanks for watching!
Hi Milashka! You can still use this technique for touch ups in areas that havent been lightened yet to add more brightness to the overall look, or by isolating previously lightened sections and "dragging up the lightener," provided you are mindful about overlapping the previously lightened hair etc. Some even like to apply conditioner with a brush on the previously lightened ends to help condition and avoid overlap. Using multiple brushes for application (one for applying lightener, one for feathering it upwards towards the scalp, and one for conditioner (if applicable) can be a game changer! We hope this helps!
Hello there! Teasing the hair before applying lightener helps to create more of a seamless blend in the end result. It makes it to where some of the hair is not affected in the lightening process to allow some of the natural hair to be blended in the areas that were lightened. Let us know if you have any additional questions!
That's correct! Even so, we know that hair with a Natural Level 1 or 3 can sometimes be difficult when trying to achieve 7+ levels of lift while not being overly warm in the end result! Thanks for watching!

After highlighting did you wash the hair?
Did you apply toner for wet or dry hair?
Hello, Nish! Yes, lightener should be shampooed out prior to depositing toner onto damp hair. We hope this helps!
How do you unleashed the hair after you wash it?

Beaut! How light did you take it & what did you tone with please? X
Hi Lesley! She was lifted to at least a clean Level 9. The formulas used are spoken to in the video and listed in the description, but the toner was ultimately a combination of 8B and 8VV in demi. Thank you so much for watching! x

But how do you touch it up?
