In this video, Matt Bazgier shows us a a common djembe rhythm and helps us understand some basics of hand drumming. You do not need to know how to read western music to play these rhythms, just follow along with the instructions on screen. The rhythm in this video can be found in many types of music and is also known as tresillo and the caribbean clave.

I was looking for the correct term of the rhythm that is used by Shakira and Jennifer Lopez for so long and when "Despacito" came out it made me crazy! I thought it might be related to the clave... So thanks for breaking it down although I don't learn Djembe ^^ It's a nice instrument, though!
