@@lukesavage1019 A lot of good jazz pianists to listen to. Bill Charlap, Phil DeGreg, Aaron Goldberg, Kiko Continentino, Cesar Camargo Mariano, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Michel Camilo, David Feldman, Helio Alves, Peter Martin, André Mehmari, ... There're so many good artists there.
Tastefully understated, intelligent, superb articulation, melodic, and he understands contrast and momentum (and humour). But most importantly, he swings his ass off.
One our finest young players who will give us years and years of superb playing - and it will be wonderful to hear him grow more and more. Writes nice tunes too btw.
Very nice. Ornamentally stylish, melodic and tasteful. Lovely colours and sweetness all around. The essence of Oscar, Ahmad, and Gene Harris, among others, all rolled out with a lovely touch.
Hot Damn. So effortless! He has such a beautiful sound. I love that his lines are unique and original, yet classic and firmly grounded in jazz vocabulary. 100%
I find his hands really really good to stare at. That shape and those fingers are so attractive. I can almost see and feel the strength when he hit the keys. The sound he made was so beautiful. one of those pianists that you fall in love at first listen.
Fantastic chord choices - and running the gamut of styles... when he was playing unaccompanied and tossed in that pedal point and key change I went crazy! Kudos!
At 6:06 He plays stride piano just right, like Jaki Byard does , in a tip of the hat to Fats Waller..on "A Train medley" by Charles Mingus. This guy's a superstar.
wowwwwww. Not only awesome , but a sense of jazz history, does a stride piano , like Jaki Byard/ Fats Waller @ 6:06. Unique talent. The best America has to offer.
Yeah.. It sounds like a bit. But.. I think Christian Sands got already his own style of playing and interpretation. He chops all good from other and puts together. Its like "How it could be, if you put together ellington, peterson, Cole, herbie, morton, tatum and other great pianists. There is an answer.
It is so good. He is mix of Oscar Peterson, Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole and I think Kenny Barron aswell! And put them together and make his own music!
Chris Sands is pure poetry on the piano. I am going to play like him one day.
Mediocre and boring pianist
@@reacionario2026 any recommendations?

How can one human being have so much talent and taste? Just stunning.
brilliant player! taste and swing. it's nice to hear that a young player like Sands hasn't forgotten the great Art Tatum.
I really like Chris Sands' sound on the piano. Delicate, yet really precise, very rhythmical and swinging! Nice!
Oh man... He is so gifted, he makes everything looks smoth and easy. Love his playing.
So smoth
This dude has a watch on each hand, guess he should have no problem keeping time
Good one.
Actually the one on Christian’s left hand looks like a smart watch.

Thank you Christian for this! You’re so inspiring man.
They add elegance to that pop tune as only true artists can!!! Christian is so skilled and mature for such a relatively young artist.
Amazing! Reminds me of Ahmad Jamal.

Certainly an example of the evolution of jazz piano. A superb pianist--and still so young!
I spoke to him today, and I told him that I was going to listen to his music tonight. He is a great jazz player.

when the drum and bass come in he interacts with them like early ahmad jamal, so cool
