As a bank fisherman it's really hard for me to get to where the big winter fish are. Consistent skunks. I'll keep trying tho. I'd be interested in where you think ther fish are on one of my local lakes; around 50 acres, man made lake with a dam, pretty narrow, not any deeper then 8ft. Silty, junk bottom. Thanks
Find something different. An example. My favorite pond for a quick after work sesh has river rock and a lot of grass. There's one spot with some big chunks of broken up concrete along the bank and it's a relatively steep drop off. It always holds several large females year round.
I fish some areas like that. How’d I’d break down a lake like that is to wait for some heavy wind to start up and fish the areas it blows into. I’d keep trying that in as many different weather conditions (with wind) then maybe at night or early in the morning. Moon phases also don’t hurt. Hope I could provide somewhat of a different perspective👊.
Probably near the dam man. It can happen! My dad caught a 13.3 pounder from the bank on a small impoundment around the dam. He was fishing a point that came in next to the channel.
I broke my PB yesterday no i lie it was Monday evening. In the shallows , I cast at a tree pile slow rolling a Reaction innovations Little Dipper white trash on a Zman trout eye (I think that big eye made the difference cuz I been throwing swimbaits all month to no avail) it was golden eye short shank on the rocks I thought I hit a rock ripped it off and was like huh my rock is moving PB - was 4.27 now it’s 5.87

Video suggestion. Make A series of videos that specifically targets parts of the country and time of year. So videos for southern/northern/east coast/west coast guys on how to catch fish at specific times times the year, what baits work best, where the fish go, ect. I'd love to listen to a video extremely specific to my area of Florida/Georgia and I'm sure guys would love it for their area too. In florida it's HOT, so many videos don't pertain to me and vice versa for guys all over the country. Love the content! Just something I'd love to see
Great Video! I am just north of you in Louisville KY. You don't look like as are we are the same, in the middle of winter. The water temps are in the high 50s at best. Bass are not responding as they normally do. What technique can I do to improve my size on these warm temps. It seems shallow may be a trick.
here in Spain where I usually fish it's not so easy to find them, they tend to be very spread out in that highland reservoir I go. A lot of potential hotspot, bluff walls, rock piles, submerged timber, you named it.... I'll need to spend much time with my cview and side imaging
I comment quite a lot on tactical. Doubt you remember me but I picked your brain once on the Huddleston in my clear highland lake. I was asking about the 8 inch being too much for my water. Big fish being 6-7lb. You said to go with the 8 inch but I was scared of it so I went with the 68. I wish there’s a way I could show you the pics of the fish I’m catching. Last one was a 14” smallie on the 68. Needless to say I’m getting the 8”. Hell maybe 10”!
My home lake doesn't fit into any of the traditional categories. It's like a xxl suburban pond meets lowland reservoir. No bluffs, one creek channel, with a couple places baby streams trickle in, one very deep hole on the opposite end from the damn, the damn actually sits in a seperate pond that's linked with a tiny shallow channel under a walking bridge and a road. The pond gets 40-60 feet deep, the main lake gets a HUGE super thick lily field on one end where there is big shallow flat and more lily fields on the other end where the creek channel comes in on both sides of it. It's also mainly mushy mud bottom. Spring and summer are not too hard to figure out, but here in the PNW the fall and winter are tricky, the lily fields disappear and the city drops and raises the water so much to control flooding, one day it's normal, 2 days later i can walk out 30-60 yards farther, than it's right back up again. It's like the bass just shut down or go deeper than i can reach from the bank. Plus there is not really much grass in the lake, maybe a little hydrilla, the grass is all up the creek.
Good info as usual, I've been fishing medium swim baits for year n half. I just recently started fishing larger 8"-9" baits this past summer. What about lakes that used to be pits or quarries? Steep sided - almost a bluff wall - all the way around the 20-50 acres of water. And what about small impoundments under 200 acres? Trying to apply speed cranking to a couple local locations, but finding rock bottom in 15-20 feet of depth is a challenge. I know the technique works on smallmouth rivers in Virginia though.

Maybe I should try an A-rig and see what happens.
Super informative vid as usual. Thank you.
Got a helix 10 and 12 for bow. Would you recommend helix 12 for 360 on top or helix 10 for DI/Map on top? I have no experience with dual bow mounting so not sure if ones better
Oklahoma City area lakes are hard to catch good bass during the winter especially without a boat. But big blue catfish are amazing during the winter here. I love yalls channel. Learned a lot watching y'all. Hope y'all have a great and blessed New Year!!
Come to lake of the pines ca!!
I got a 6 cent swim bait. How do I use it
Shaking an LV500???
Triza Dragoon, Tactical DD to find the giants and a Defiant 210 to pick ‘em off. That’s my plan every time I go out this winter when there’s not ice on the water.
I wish we didn't freeze
Can you guys make some night fishing guides? Best baits for smallmouth/largemouth/striper, and most importantly line. Really curious to see what you guys use while fishing of a night.
It's -5 F right now where I'm at. I'd be pissed if I caught my PB bass through the ice on a 1/32 oz jig 🤣
