You know what's insane ? I just finished writing my new year's resolutions. I never do that usually, but I figured I'd give it a try. One of them was : "learn how to do middle splits" and here goes my favorite stretchy guy with the solution for my problem ! Thank you so much !
Right! Lol! But to be fair, the way they tighten as one bends actually restricts how fast you can get into those positions so may be helpful for preventing certain types of shock load injuries to the groin 🤣
You just saved me like a year of pain. I'm a martial artist, and I've been working on my middle splits for about a year now, in which I made maybe 10cm of progress. This video just got me 10cm extra in under 10 minutes. I am amazed.
It's crazy that he ripped his pants there, but for anyone who wants to find the end program, it was: 1. Hamstring Stretch 30s 2. Butterfly Stretch 30s 3. Pancake Stretch 30s 4. Pigeon Stretch 30s 5. Middle Splits 30s Do that 4 days a week for a total of 6 minutes of stretching for each relevant muscle
@kaiiimee no, he explained it in the video, these numbers are purely copied. For more detailed info, watch the vid, but in short, most of these stretches hit more than one relevant muscle per stretch.
@@realMaggyMage oh okay, that's what you meant, thank you ^^ I did watch the video twice but I also copied your notes because they compressed it. Thanks for your answer
@kaiiimee you're welcome, I'm glad i could be of help. When you stretch, make sure to remember the stretches need to be intense, but not painful, and your body needs time to recover. Enjoy your stretching!
These tips are amazing! I’ve always felt “stuck” with middle splits, even though I’m pretty flexible in other areas (like front splits and pigeon). I had mentally surrendered to the idea that it was impossible for me due to my bone structure and stopped trying. But now, I’m definitely going to give these tips a shot in 2025! Thanks for the inspiration! Also, volume warning!! Ripping jeans sounds incoming
Okay 2025 is the year we get to the middle splits! Here's the plan: - Do your middle splits program 4 days / week ✅ - Measure & track progress with an app (flexibility tracker range) every session ✅ - Rip pants (lol) thumbs up if you join
Wow. I love that you went into the rationale behind sets/duration because it’s helping me set up a basic program. I’m coming from a bodybuilding background and seeing the similarities between bodybuilding and flexibility training!
I've dealt with a herniated disc for over 10 uears now. Recently tweaked it again somehow and i was out again for about a month. In the past the excruciating pain lasted longer and i lose weight because I can't get up to eat... But this time, after finding your channel a while back, I am now beginning to love stretching and it's helping with my pain! While sitting on a chair with my back straight, I could barely move my leg up in front me. Now i can lift it a decent amount, but far from even holding an L hold. I'll get there soon though, I know it!
If thc edibles are legal where you live, try them for pain relief. They work better for me than anything else I’ve ever taken! And they won’t eat a hole 🕳️ in your stomach.
As a coach I talk about the 2% supertaskers and how the 98% should rather align tasks in synergies than attempting to multitask. The math behind these three stretches is a beautiful example, David.
Dave. Love the content. Been watching for years. Started using this video past four or five days. Looking forward to either the middle split or straddle. I'm not picky. Lol
I’m a calisthenics athlete chasing a New Year’s goal to attain mobility in my entire body. Mobility is crucial for certain skills, and I’m like a board. I started consistently stretching not too long ago, and I won’t stop. I’m going to continue so that I can achieve moves like this. Here’s to a productive 2025. This split, along with all other flexibility, is mine. I refuse to quit on it. I WILL get there.
Yo great video! I have lower back problems and sciatica, but after doing some of these stretches I have started seeing a difference. Thank you for the advice and scientific breakdown, my goal is to be able to do the splits by the end of the year
I love what your doing helping people who have no idea what they are doing!!!! I wish I saw your videos a couple years ago. Also nice rip in the pants 👌👌
Dude, I love your videos! They help me a lot! thanks Please, bro, make a video for hip internal rotation, I need to learn how to stretch, and i've been struggling in it. Thank you again. And happy new year
I used to be so flexible close to both splits as a kid got hit by a truck at 16 got arthritis in my spine did skateboarding and kick boxing after could only head kick small people, even with mandatory stretches at work I never got my childhood flexibility back lol would love to be able to do splits! ❤
I do flexability dance and yoga all through the week for a year now, and no splits achieved yet... It's not even painful anymore like it used to be, it just stuck. I can touch the floor, doing all the stretches you mentioned, but butterfly with head forward is impossible for me, no matter how much I try, again, it stuck. I can go all the way to the floor with my legs crossed, 90/90, 90/90 with leaning backwards, but butterfly, not an inch. So concluding, I'm doing exactly what you say, and even more of that, and no splits, so... this is not the only video any person will ever need 😅 sorry
Hey David, happy new year and hope you are doing well and so is your family. Awesome video very informative and eye opening. Can't wait for the ankle flexibility video as I am one of those aforementioned martial artists. Anyway, I have a very important question. What time is the best time to stretch? I'm considering doing it first thing in the morning but I'm worried about stretching when I'm 'cold' like that first thing in the morning. Do you have a stretch warm up or something? Is it a bad idea to stretch so early? Let me know your recommendations/thoughts? All the best, really happy to see your channel progresses and grow. If possible you should definitely collaborate with Jujimufu again, it's interesting watching you two work together. It might not be your thing but it'll be interesting to see you lift weights with him or try tricking or anything.
Amazing, thank you I've been trying to get my middle split for a while But i only do stretch no 1, 2, and 5. I think i need to add no 3 and 4 And i do agree with 30s rules, that's my personal experience too
Your videos make me happy, and I've the chance to learn precious theory and practice that's my university didn't teach me at the right time. You stay flexible without flexi jeans. You are the flex God!!
Great video! 🎉 love the workout options you presented I screenshot them and will definitely give it a shot, can you please do the same for front splits? Thanks 😊
You need to try an all time classic in ballet and rhythmic gymnastics that the MBA students call "The Irena Stretch"😅. It' s a straightened legs external rotation (aka _en dehors_ in ballet), Just sit on the floor and proceed to stretch your harms, belly touches knees buuuuut, hands grab the insteps with forearms twisted, devilishly twisted🙃🥴😵💫. You already rotate 90° degrees without raising a brow, you can do it✨. Happy 2025 to all the family🖤
thank you for this video! I feel like I'm making progress at a snail's pace with my middle split right now; I'm definitely using your routine for now on (also, condolences for your ripped pants)
And that's why I don't stretch in jeans. It was only a matter of time before you ripped your pants. 😂😂 But this is just amazing. I have to get this into my workout regime. I've been doing the splits alone and got into a plateau. This can help me progress this year. Thank you.
It's also not really your external rotators that limit your external rotation, because the movement in the split is rather passive and doesn't come close to causing mucle failure, but your internal ones. Otherwise you would need to stretch your quads and abductors instead of hamstrings and adductors.
Glad you changed into fresh trousers for the last bit of the video. I felt a bit uncomfortable when you just continued talking like nothing happened. Props for not cutting that part, I guess
THIS IS MY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION. I'm bad with flexibility, bad with consistency, and the thing is I probably have hours a week to do it when it only takes minutes.
Can you please make a video like this on mobility (Lower and Upper body) and front splits. Because there are like 1000 videos out there don't know which one to follow. Happy new year ✨

the video starts at 00:00
I was really confused were to start. Thanks for the assist. 😆 You deserve more thumbs up.😋
Not funny anymore
This saved me many hours of searching, thank you
and the video ends at 8:00
Thanks so much man, saved some precious time🤙
respect for keeping the part where you rip your pants, a lot of youtubers would just cut it out but we're all just human
Oh, "cut it out", I see what you did there.

Girl there was one short where he was dressed as spiderman, I was not prepared for that, he looked too good it was so fitting!
I love it! We should make a group, I would love to achieve this in 2025 too.
Happy new year!!
I literally did the same, and even bet money on itxD
Please, if you make a whatsapp groupe or whatever, just let ys know ! 👌
I’m more impressed he’s doing in this in jeans, brave soul 😂
Right! Lol!
But to be fair, the way they tighten as one bends actually restricts how fast you can get into those positions so may be helpful for preventing certain types of shock load injuries to the groin 🤣
They don't even look like the modern stretchy jeans.
he should try to get a denim sponsor with how stretchy these jeans have to be lmfao
Its his second skin
I mean, he did end up splitting a pair halfway through the video

Do you mean with multiple sets?

Leaving the clip of your pants ripping in your video about how to do the splits is such a choice, can't help but respect it

One of the most informative videos ive ever watched..... And i practice primary series...... This is most beneficial for me
happy new year man! looking forward to your content this year to get my splits!
i need this type of confidence, continuing to perform splits with ripped jeans bro you are one mad lad
bro when he rips it i literally cant see it
@@rreeii_192 Look harder. Watch till the end VERY carefully.
@ bro i just saw it omg how did i miss that
he really handled it well
Last tip should be "use stretchable pants" or else that might happen LOL
please do one for the front split david!!! love yaa
somebody get this man some new jeans
This is really everything we need. Thanks teacher !
Pure Gold! And I love the classic "RUclips Tutorial" vibe. Thank you, David.

Excellent video. Always entertaining and straight to the point.
I've seen a lot of splits video and this is the best!

Love these longer videos
More to come!

Thank you man,you have made me know about my body and I love streching them so a big big

What we need basics exercise.
And all you said which I experience for me ,my streching

This helps so much though
Please do a similar video for front splits. Appreciate it!

I got so distracted by the way your pants ripped and how you kept going. I had to rewatch the whole video!

A small note that the pigeon stretch should be done for both legs so that’s 30s each
