I do not speak the Navajo language, but I feel it good to present half this video in it, to help younger generations know the language. Wise choice brother man.
Nature is the finest artist; living things showing all colors of our universe. I watch crows strutting in the sun and see them showing off their hidden shine; clever and capable creatures.
Nitak ishkitini - night owl... its quicker to trick someone into thinking,.. than to convince them of the truth, but if you trick them into knowing the truth, then you are a good teacher,... trick them into thinking your opinion matters and they will think your opinion matters, they will count on you for it.... who wins the game? The one who does not have time to play!!!! Thank you Wally!
I’ve always been mesmerised by Native American culture (or any culture that lives in fusion with nature) this knowledge is so valuable as we entered a new world. I’m glad it is not lost. I’m happy there’s still elders roaming our earth. People who experienced life without social media and all the craziness we live in today. Thank you again Sir for your stories and life lesson. , Watching from Paris, France 🇫🇷

Mr. Brown, I enjoy your teachings so much! They're always enlightening. I also enjoy hearing you speak the Navajo language. Something about it is so relaxing! Thank you! I hope many Navajo young people will hear them and accept them for themselves! ❤
Thanks for your vids, much respect. If you take requests I am curious what the Navajo teach about the frustrations associated with losing brain function/memory as we get old. Sure sux...
Dear Grandfather, Thank you so much for sharing this story of the Shoe! I love to hear the Navajo Denie not sure of spelling when you first begin. When listening, I sensed you were telling about something being buried in the earth. The animals and how they got their shiny feather, outward pointing toes is wonderful. I ask Great Spirit to Bless you!
I love learning through story telling. Interpretive art is the best way to grow. Grow as a person, grow new ideas, grow your understand of each word and idea that is conveyed. Thank you so much for teaching us in the old way. It would take paragraphs to individually convey all of the lessons/ideas/thoughts/teachings that the story provides. Our new ways will never catch up to what we lost along the way.
Shoe games and shoe game stories are powerful and bring me warmth to hear!!! I can remember playing these in the Winter in Arizona on the rez. The songs that are sung are also powerful!
I’m Mexican and come from a dysfunctional family. We used to fight every day. I can tell you despite having a bad example as a father, I’ve been able to automatically apply most of your teachings without prior knowledge. It’s like it’s in my dna I can understand it. I just want to say thank you and I have to ask if I am welcomed here? And my apologies for trespassing.
I’ve been told, that it was a sign of our separation from Earth, and an adherence to agriculture, to wear shoes..it was the beginning of the war on Mother Nature. (The king is dead..long live the king!) There will be time for Earth in the grave. “This is a man’s world” - godfather of soul My hat, is off to you brother.
Crow is my favourite animal, then gorillas orangutans and horses. These are my favourite animals. I hope we will see animals in heaven. I can't imagine life without animals trees and water.
Are you sure the photo above is a gopher and not a squirrel? The gopher has a bigger head and long teeth. Anyone know? I loved the story and all animals of Earth Mother.

The hogan is so beautiful, and looks very snug, when I imagine the fire burning and the door covered, keeping everyone cozy in the winter.
Great story, the children must love your stories... cause I do too.
