It's hard to believe it's been 32 years since Drazen died. Once he got to play full-time, he showed his talents. When he was with the Blazers, it was hard to get minutes with Clyde and Terry Porter at the guard positions. Drazen kept his mouth shut and did well whenever he got playing time. My boys and I were shocked when we read of his car accident.
The best? Not really. As great as he was, there were several shooters as good or even better than him For instance: Steph Curry better, Nikos Galis, Juan Carlos Navarro, Oskar Schmidt, Klay Thompson, Reggie Miller as good as Drazen..
@@scottipippen6554 Galis was a better scorer but not better shooter. Miller Said it himself, Drazen was the best shooter he ever saw. Schimidt was close. Navaro was not in his league. Only one I`ll give credit to is Steph, but I don`t think he would be that good in the 90`s while Drazen would dominate now. Drazen was a beast in practise. He had Mamba mentality before Mamba. He was asked once how would win a pickup game between him and MJ. He said the one who got the ball first.
@@Gal1njo To say you don't think Steph would be that good in the 90s is absolute madness. Steph would be in the conversation for top 5 all time if he played in the 80s or 90s assuming he played EXACTLY the same way as he does today.
He's the cousin of my physics teacher! My physics teacher also played professional basketball in the Netherlands (where we live), and talked about how he played with him, and he got absolutly destroyed.
Talent first. Then, work work work. You know, thing that you like to do, it becomes like love or obsession. my dad tells me toni kukoc was the one who gained the respect for euro players but I always thought it was saranus and drazen lol petrovic highlights literally looks like a Croatian Reggie miller

Kukoc is the greatest European player to play in the NBA. Arvydas, Sarunas and Drazen are right behind. And then these kids come and say Dirk was the best Euro player ever ...Sigh. All of these guys would eat Dirk for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner
Idk about that. Dirk was a scoring machine. You’re talking about a 7 footer with a pull up jumper from any where, and with some handles. His footwork in the post was up to par with the likes of Kobe, MJ etc, except he was 7ft…just cause he wasn’t playing in your “day” doesn’t matter. Great players are great in any era..
Everybody got cooked by Dražen, he was killer. Find a clip frpm Once brothers and see what Joe Dummars says about him. Find what Sir Charles said about him. See what Drexler told about him. Dražen was cooking whole defence of Bulls in 90s, Kerr was just another victime.
He was one of the best shooters in league history and turned down an invite to the 3 point contest because he felt it was a snub...the guy died very young you can't compare his NBA career stats to what his potential was. A prime Sabonis and prime Dirk were the only European players better than he was and Sarunas was also excellent. You're clueless.
@@axelarroyo3286 Nobody was better than Dražen, he was beating Sabonis and Žalgiris regularly while he was playing for Cibona. I watched those games as kid.
People don't realize that scoring 40 + points was way more rarely in comparison to nowadays.
People do realize! Their not stupid, you act like you know something noone else does.
Because defense was stronger 10x, then today ! Today game-style suits the shooters !
@@oloatis2182 Some people!
@@oldskool6920 Yeahhh that's not true lol It's because of the style of play.
Like 80 points today
Drazen the goat, rip the greatest🇭🇷🇭🇷🇭🇷
Respect for how many such good athletes a small country like Croatia produces👏🏼💪🏼
carácter, personalidad, carisma, clase, talento ..Echo de menos a Drazen😢
The European goat
Top 3 European player of all time
Easily one❤ no one compared with him it was a pure talent..nowadays the nba is easier than those days...@@dmag884
Jokic, pa 10 mesta prazno!

All great players can
@@Alphasports576 I'm not so sure. I don't think Shaq would be as effective today as in his era because of the way the game is officiated today.

@@antetomic4677 You might be correct. Drazen sure flourished under Chuck Daly.
Petrovic is a freakin legend!

@@scottipippen6554 if he’d made 10 more freethrows in 92-93, he’d be a 50/40/90 member. Shooting 45% from three is pretty great shooting.
His percentage from 3 was actually slightly higher than Steph's ...now, of he'd loved and played longer, who knows?

Scoring 40 in 1992 was something. Now bench players does this sometimes.
0:02 I’m sure as soon as Drazen saw that Steve Kerr was guarding him, he thought to himself “Barbecue Chicken!” 😂
My god❤🏀 Legend
Wow! A 40 point performance without 30 3-point attempts? It’s almost like there’s an entire rest of the court to shoot jumpers.

40pts back then is 50pts this decade

it's 1992...strongest team in the east would be the defending champs and winning again in 92 the chicago bulls...
Kinda shoots like klay

Klay is the better shooter but Drazen is the better scorer.
you crazy.... klay is not even close to petrovič even... curry not...
petrovič compare to jordan hu undrstand basketball... in 90s
