Can You Get EVERY Co-op Achievement in Portal 2 By Yourself?

- Today I did something only a terminally inside person like myself would do, and tried to get every co-op achievement in Portal 2 without the help of another player. Also the audio kept bugging out when exporting the video, so some of the backing tracks had to be removed. Sorry that it may not be up to the usual quality with the music selection.

Portal 2 Co-op was always one of my favorite co-op modes growing up. I really hope we get some sort of Portal 3 in the future. Valve really needs to stop raking in money and get on that. I'm sure with the billions they get off steam they can hire someone to do the raking for them and actually make games again. Tbh I'll probably need to find someone to rake my house too if I ever move into one. I'll definitely be hard to tend to my garden if I'm inside doing these stupid challenges all day that's for sure. Also the cake is a lie for algorithm purposes.

Huh, interesting. I hadn't considered the other demographics of his viewers. I work basically all day M-F, regularly attend board game nights at the FLGS, and spend the rest of my time with friends and family. That means I don't have the time to play videogames as much as I'd like.
To me, this channel is more like an amusing tour with a funny tour guide of a side of gaming I can't experience for myself.
@@RandomPerson-nd2ey I've always been the reclusive type. So if I'm not helping my dad with his yard work business or helping someone I know with their horses I stay home and play games. Sure I know people online that I'll chat with but other than that I haven't really had anyone over in a couple years.

If you count working 55-70 hours a week every week without an actual vacation for about the past decade to pay off debts including my wife's student loans, missing big life events with my kids, rarely even being in the same State as my wife (or the same bed), and more being "happy" then... Yeah, sure. In that case, I'm "happy".

Newer viewer here, gotta say man’s personality makes these so enjoyable to watch.
Pro tip: The "Friend's List With Benefits" achievement is possible in split-screen. Just make the partner you've done the rest of the achievements with your friend, hug them, and then make two other fresh accounts, add them as friends and do the same. Doesn't require Xbox Live Gold because you're doing everything in local split-screen.
Wait I didn't think about that! Even less of an excuse not to have all the co-op achievements now haha

Yo! Just a heads up, I had to export this 3 times because of weird audio issues with my backing tracks. I'm pretty sure I got all the audio spikes ironed out but if I missed one them lmk so I can trim them out! Hope ya'll enjoy the video otherwise!

Not sure if this has been brought up, but at the end of the fourth part with the second turret production line, you were making it harder than it needed to be. On the opposite wall, you can place a portal making it so the turrets get knocked off their platforms, by the barrier, the second the conveyor belt brings them in.

When call of duty Mob of the Dead came out i really wanted to get the pop goes the weasel achievement but never could find find anyone willing or competent enough to finish it, so i plugged a second controller in and did that shit myself. It took hours and hours, but slowly and meticulously i was able to do it. It was such a fun feeling.
Dude props! I've done the same thing for the mw2 and mw3 spec ops missions that were only co op. As well as Die Rise easter egg. I had two ransoms from discord and I played with two controllers at the same time 😂

Did he ever realise he doesn't need to pick up the controller? All the buttons can definitely be pressed without picking them up.

i remember doing this 2 controllers 1 player because im a nerd and just wanted more portal. i did not do all the achievements though
I did the same. Never considered doing the achievements the playthrough was enough challenge. If i remember correctly once you accepted the two controllers i didnt think it was that bad.
I actually almost did this challenage when Portal 2 first came out but couldn't ever beat the last chamber so I got stuck, And I will say. I still tell people about it ^^
This video made me wonder if you could do coop in Shift Happens alone... it's a smaller unknown game tho.

So glad devs kinda realized what a pain online/coop trophies are (check PS3 platinums in general and you might agree on the large scale).
I still remember the grind that was MW2 OG Spec Ops 3 stars all missions. So many attempts with both friends and brothers.

Did you know why you were getting audio spikes?
I can tell yah it's possible cause i did it myself years ago. I only had issues towards the later stages as they required you to time your actions
You would need another box, but you wouldn't need multiple copies of the game or multiple subscriptions. If you buy it digitally with your main account, download it to both boxes, then your alt accounts can hop in and play just fine.

Portal 2 was a game I never personally played myself, but this would be my preferred way of playing it.

I completed Portal recently. I managed to get all the singleplayer achievements in Portal 2 next, but I can't complete the game. I played it all on Steam Deck OLED. I didn't know there was splitscreen. I'll have to try this. I really wanna complete Portal 2 and finally move on
But at the same time, I really wanna play and complete a game with someone. Always wanted to CoOp complete a game
Ok you beat DS2, It takes 2 (solo), the hardest mission in cod 4 MW on the hardest difficulty, Even beat 1hp mode in the Evil Within 1, BUT CAN YOU BEAT THE GAME "Ori and the Blind Forest" ON i think it was called "One Life Mode"?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
not challenging you, but I wouldnt want to go through that tbh and i wouldnt even recomend it but there is an achievement for it called "Unhinged" I dont know the completion ratio (also i played the Definitive Edition version. Why is this hard? well.
you move uncontrollably fast, any tiny mess-up will probably just insta kill you, Chase scenes will most likely 1-shot you if you mess-up even by a hair, you get useful abilities later in the game, On the bright side i think you can skip the intro cutscenes unlike dead space 2 lol,
again not a challenge but honestly i died alot on my first playthrough and didnt even make it very far because i knew id die alot.
The only portal 2 achievements i need are some of the co op onse but the only person who played co op mode with me is my dad and hes not insane enough like me to reply portal a billion times lol
Only co-op achievements I've soloed have been Bloons Tower Defense 5 achievements...the only good thing about NinjaKiwi not having a way to let me use the same account to play on my phone or on my computer.
oh, i once saw someone using his toes on a controller while doing a challenge run in Super Mario Odyssey.
he was going for a "fewest captures" record.
by "capture" i mean possessing creatures with "Cappy".
Just asking and not in a parasocial way. While I love your videos, I have social anxiety and so forth. But would you be open to playing with viewers for these coop achievements or well, maybe not coop but for your gears video, getting the servers active with viewers to get you to the 10k kills in gears online? Like an antagonistic sort of viewer and you game. Kill us, we kill you sort of thing
25:24 huh, I didn't know there was a portal wall there, what I did with my friend is place the portal on the wall behind the conveyor so that the bridge that was coming out of that portal would just push the turrets off. Much less stressful, especially for the still alive achievement (this bridge is also useful as a convenient stopper for the companion cube lineup)
Edit: oh, I just realised that you were probably supposed to do what I desribed and only then reposition the portal on that wall so you can proceed forward to the door. I mean, we didn't mind taking a few bullets to the face, considering it was a short exposure to the turrets

Bruh, I feel that. Best example is a FromSoft game like Elden Ring where you can FEEL the clenching of your muscles to the point you think you'll collapse in on yourself.
I actually always feel bad for the turrets because A) they seem somewhat sentient yet are specifically crafted to harm (more on that in) B) they don't even have the capacity to actually fire bullets like God intended for Americans, they just toss them with springs without any gunpowder, it's possibly the worst outcome a bullet could ever have, let alone a machine designed for such waste.
I have a question. So there's an achievement for hugging 3 different friends. Did he buy portal 2 4 times?
Haha, i did this myself a while ago...was a lonely afternoon. Sucks I couldnt get the platinum though, because you gotta play online for one of them and the servers were shut down :(
This was very fun to watch, as someone who also finished the entire co-op on their own with 2 controllers. Because back in the day I only owned Portal 2 on the PS3 and didn’t have someone to play with me, so I took on the challenge of doing it solo. Some chambers are extremely tough, as you’ve also now expierenced XD. But it’s cool how it’s possible to finish the co-op playing solo.

I would try getting the “Hug three friends” achievement, but I don’t know any that still plays Portal 2

For achievement 17, If You press the button again, the cube disintegrates and You don't need to reset the chamber
you can even do it solo with two steam decks, i know this because all of my friends are exceptionally incompetent
You can still get numberless names by creating the accounts on a Xbox 360, the reason I know is because I hate myself…
I know it doesn't help, but on pc, you can use steam controler tools to swap "player" on the same controler. Probably would have been a bit easier at points.

Techincally you dont need to buy a second controller if you mess around with console commands bug, eh. You tried, thats all I care about
for still alive, on the final turret line, you are supposed to place the light bridge on the wall behind the turrets so they get pushed off, your solution was much harder

This reminds me of the time i got the platinum in one of the worms games on ps3. The online trophies i cheesed by having my ps3 going on one tv and brothers ps3 going on a smaller tv next to it and took me all day to run into each others accounts.

Just recently I played it with my sister and now I want her to play the main game since she was, I'm gonna be honest here and just say it. She sucked nuts at the game and it was as if. I had to hold a childs hands and put the square in the square hole.

Snam I'm not sure if you enjoy it, but Far Cry Primal was a really fun game and only took me 34 hours to 100% also Sleeping dogs is fun and easy as well
