Ultimately I'm happy to hear so many people enjoyed Throne & Liberty. As covered in the video, there's plenty of things I think the game does very well and I expect it'll have an audience, whatever the size. Bottom line for me is that I didn't enjoy the combat, no matter the settings I tweaked (Skill buffer, snap casting, etc). And if after 30 hours I'm still not digging combat, it's clear the game's not clicking for me. I hope everyone has a blast at launch, nothing beats the first week of a new MMO coming out. As mentioned at the end, I think everyone should give the game a shot seeing as it's free. But unless those combat updates dramatically overhaul the fundamentals of combat (and not just add AoE, reduce cast time, change elemental attacks, etc), I suspect I won't play more than a few days. We'll see though. GLHF.
@ForceGamingYT There it is. The disclaimer comment meant to set up future vids on the game without looking like a hypocrite now that the realization set in that most of the audience didn't agree with your take.
You're a liar dude, probably you're well paid by a company to say those things. A lot of mistaken data in your video, with tendency to make formulate a negative opinion for no reason. For example, the game is not PvP focused, that's a complete lie.
@@AlleyCatNinjagiven the video is overwhelmingly positive likes, seems most actually do agree. But - as I said in the video, I’m certain this game will have an audience of fans. Similar to how I felt about The First Descendant - I can see why people will like the game, it’s just not for me.
For me the problem with modern mmos is that you have to spend too much time in menus clicking things to get pointless rewards to promote their cash shops instead of actually having fun in the game
I actually really enjoyed my time in the game. I got to like level 40 and had fun the whole time. Looking forward to the combat changes. Not sure about the longevity of the game though.
@@Ren3gade every mmorpg combat is awful till you reach a certain point, reaching certain point in other mmorpgs take 40 times longer. again where's the point?
It is interesting watching this right after watching Kanon's video where he went over thew new skill system stuff that is coming - it seems like a lot of that will emphasize or even reward moving in combat.
@@xabiermorales7781 have u really collected so little information, that u would say that? The only thing u can buy an advantage is from the auction house (players have to farm for that stuff to sell it there) and its just the early time. The best-in-Slot weapons (Archboss) sold maybe 5-10 times in KR, thats nothing if you look into the Pvp with 1000 Players
Guild is must have, even "Raid bosses are linked to your guild and the progress of the guild". There are the open world bosses, which are PVP or PVE, and there are Guild only bosses, which can be done on a weekly basis.
Play actual good games this one isn't it. Can't wait to give money away and P2W your victory. No wonder the gaming industry is failing at producing quality
@zonedout3390 time or money, not p2w but pay for convenience. Plenty of decent MMOs already do that. Elder scrolls online limits your inventory. Plus if you get a good guild you may never have to pay anything... also the game hasn't came out... how do you know how pay to win it is? Is it elder scrolls online level (mostly inconvenient. ) and annoying or Diablo immortal level where in pvp you don't stand a chance against a whale... (heavy bull shit level of pay to win.) I personally think it will be the former not the ladder.
The beta was extremely impressive from my perspective. Feels like a better version of Guildwars 2 with elements of FF14 and DAOC. Its been interesting to see so many KOLs rolling out videos wildly discordant with my experience. The GW2 launch received similarly mixed sentiment.
@jacksheldon8566 Combat, buildcraft, content (better dungeons, open world dungeons, PvP just as good), visuals and even the story. Basically feels like an all around upgrade and Guildwars 2 is a great game so I mean this as high praise.
I think that the game starts slow, but it gets really good when you get more abilities. What I’m impressed about is the quality of the servers not going down with all the people in one place, really smooth and fun for the world bosses and pvp
To be fair, it is as likely to survive as any other PVP focused MMO that has come before it, and by that I mean.. not very likely. I don't personally have an opinion, though. I haven't tried it, don't really care to. But statistically speaking, pvp focused MMO's do not do particularly well.
@@zonedout3390 I have been playing MMOs since 1998 and have prob played about every MMO out there. You are allowed your opinion but to me you're mistaken. The combat is far smoother than any MMO that has recently come out. Once you get the combos and a rotation the combat is actually fun. The spells also looked great and were not over-whelming the whole screen creating pointless spam on the screen. Even the boss fights were fun and I'm not a PVER I'm a PVPER.
I’ve played mmo for years with far less responsive skill use and way worse combat then throne and liberty. A lot of us have as well. The optimization, graphics, dungeons, item and skill tailoring are top notch in this game. This was the only beta ever where I had literally zero issues. Oh and I almost forgot open world pvp, siege, and guild pvp/pve content. The combat will get better with time and patches. I had a total blast playing with the guild I joined and doing pvp.
Don't forget the game has been out for months in korea already, I wouldn't compare it to other betas. They've had plenty of time to iron out any performance issues.
This game wont last hyped for more than a vouple of months. F2p players will be sick of being kicked off their asses and quit. P2w players will try to make their spending last but will have noone to fight against.
If they add all the new updates they are doing with the KR version right now to the global release in September - then it will be worlds different and improved. During open beta, if you look at at the world map we were only gated to about 1/3 of the world. Kanon (YT streamer) explains it well.
I'm still gunna play this when it comes out, I only have a console so this actually looks like being one of the better MMO options available on console. I like that this is still a balanced review by Force and I'm hoping this game evolves over time with more content
Try out the Kr version with the new system and combat changes feels smoother and more engaging. I do feel though for them to survive PVE is a must in this day and age especially if the story and expansions are interesting
I haven't played a game this much in ages. I couldnt believe my eyes when i finished a 13hr session on Tuesday. It was beyond fun. Im not entirely sure where the negativity is stemming from. No game is perfect but TL is definitely good. And only getting better.
It's coming from people being scared of the game being virtually dead in KR, and expecting the worst. pay 2 progress absolutely obliterates pvp focused games and makes guilds unify based on which spends the most, which causes everyone to form an alliance and suddently new players/guilds can't compete.
Thanks for the review. It saved me the time of giving the game try. I'm a PVE player. I work all day and when I come home I want to sit back enjoy a good story and engage in come combat. I don't like being attacked while I fight something else or while I'm picking plants. Just not my idea of fun.
I like the open pvp part. This just makes the game exciting. There is also a point to getting better armor and weapons besides doing more dmg in a dungeon
as someone who really enjoyed this beta and am planning to waste allot of time in the game on release, i still totally agree on your points here. Im really hoping they add some much needed solo content for this game sooner rather then later lol
Don't trust news, play it yourself and form your own opinion. Your style/enjoyment may differ. Personally, I was very underwhelmed. The game looks nice, combat is decent, but the game is very hollow. Limiting dungeons to 2/day unless you buy (from cash shop) extra tickets is really bad
There is one thing that for sure i need to recognize in Throne and Liberty. The graphics are the best. They look clean and colorful with plenty of details.
@14:39 This game was initially developed as a mobile phone game with auto features such as quest guide, mob killing for EXP grind, etc. NCsoft removed most those auto features very close to their official release date.
I really enjoyed the beta. Graphics looks really good well optimazed, gameplay was just like in MMO. Combat wasn't bad could put more skills on L2 instead of menu thing ( played on console). Definitely will go back in September.
Yeah i can see all the problems you listed, but somehow i've had a great time with the beta. I'm also excited about the new stuff they showed lately. Maybe it will die for me in 1-2 months, but that will be fun so who cares, maybe i will be sad in 5 years cause i can't check back cause the game will be fully dead already. Nevermind, my expectations were low, but i've had a great time.
My problem with modern MMO's is that they are all currency chasing games. "Collect these items, that turn into a currency, that you spend to unlock this thing, that will allow you to fill this gauage, by doing this daily, that Time-Gates you from fun content that you want to do, because you have to upgrade your thing, with these items that drop from the thing that's been gated, because playing what is fun is only allowed once or twice per day, so that you play more, but you don't want to play more now, because you feel that it's a job, because if you miss a day you feel behind, and if you can upgrade your gear with materials you get from the dungeon you did or the content you ran, and it fails, you have to do it all over again, by collecting the currency, to get the thing, to fill the gauge, to do the daily quest, that is time-gated, because you have to upgrade your thing, that can potentially fail, and if it fails you are back to scratch....... .... Unless. You spend real money in our cash shop, in which case, you can..." No, Pass. "But we need the time gate so you don't run out of content" If playing what is fun, in an MMO is considered bad because you 'run out of content' then the content in the MMo is bare bones, and not worth doing in the first place. Let me spend my time the way i want. Thrones and liberty is a perfect example of this,. There's a reason why korea thought it was bad.
You’ve made some excellent points. While the game is visually appealing, it lacks sufficient content for casual players. Those with average gear will quickly melt in large-scale PvP battles. Since it’s free to play, still encourage people to give it a shot, reach the level cap, and then explore / go back to other games. TnL is too focused on guild activities and massive PvP wars. I have two level 65 characters on the KR server, and honestly, there’s not much to do-it feels quite soulless. AND YES, I ALSO HATE THE non-stop clicking menus and sub-menus. Gosh.
Wow, interesting question since Im in beta test on ps5 where, I do have a fun but game seems not optimized on the console , the gameplay is not smooth but I still do have a ton of fun
Played heavily. Did all the stoey clan activity with pvp action. I loved it. Gave me the feeling that lineage 2 gave me back then. Am dropping alal games ans will play this only. Ready for pvp. And clan vs clan drama and stuff
What we need is Force jumping in and helping dev's create MMO's. His views and opinions are strong with this genre and true! Having Force helping dev's would I think, make the perfect MMO. True words go far and I share pretty much everything he feels about the genre.
In the recent years, there hasnt been any new MMOs that give us anything interesting, unfortunately... I'm not saying that this one will blow your mind, but I had the opposite experience you did. I went in with little expectation and ended up playing non-stop and getting a KR account waiting for the Global release!
I honestly never understood most of these guild based PvP games, considering most players want to play exclusively to win, especially as that's how you get most rewards faster or at all, and then it's objectively best to dog pile all onto the one wining side, at least until it's so lopsided you kill off the entire point of the game. It's the most literal example of optimizing the fun out of the game.
Good take. I am Primary PvE player. I enjoyed the betas, and will play it. But won’t pay the 5 day early start. Might pay for battle pass, because I am ok with subscription for my MMOs. For a free to play there is lots to do even for PVE casual for a bit. Plus there are already big patches already coming out in Korea first, then we will get it.
No Classes is still a huge L. its a MMO man, what made game devs think players like LESS PLAYER CUSTOMIZATION AND PLAYER POWER?? Like also 90% of the endgame being BigScaled PvP is A HUGE TURN OFF. People like PvP, me as well, however i also LOVE well designed and well made PvE encounters...Im a WoW/Destiny/Division player and i expect nothing less tbh man. Im just surprised they still went the PvP as its main goal.....MMOs do not work that do that, Albion Online is not successful compared to the big boys like WoW FF OSRS etc.....cant just have PvP as your main goal in a MMO Game dude. Hilarious. Game had potential but they are THROWING THE BAG, with barely any PVE in this game like NORMAL MMO. Its DOA, people wont want to PvP/GvG everyday 24/7.... we want some good PvE content and then we will mix it up with that PvP content.... have NCSoft never made a game before? Oh wait THEY OBVIOUSLY HAVE.....huge L hope amazon can save it
I agree with you on the classes. If I want to be a Cleric, I want to be a Cleric, with a set skill tree, although it should have many options of ways to play the character but still within the guidelines of what I would expect from a Cleric. There is a ton of customization in this game from what I have seen, I do like classes though, especially in PvP oriented games. It's nice to recognize other classes and have some idea of what to expect from them. It also adds to squad compositions in small group PvP, people will figure out that running 2 healers, 3 casters, 1 tank, and 2 DPS for example is a good mix. PvP is where I disagree with you though, games that try to be good at both PvE and PvP often can't do both well. The only game I've seen do it well was Dark Age of Camelot. Every other MMO since has fallen short on the PvP. Some will disagree, most likely because as you said, you want good PvE content as your main focus and then you'll "mix it up" with some PvP. That ends up being mediocre PvP because it's just something people do occasionally. Some people want PvP to be the focus, for it to be competitive, and engaging. I love RPGs but I'm constantly drawn back to FPS games because I enjoy the competitive, skill driven aspect. The last MMO I sunk a lot of time into was Dark Age of Camelot, because of the PvP. Many people in that game only did PvE when a new item was released so they could get it to take into PvP. However, with that being said, I did enjoy the PvE in that game as well, even though it wasn't my main focus. Everything I did in PvE was to make me more powerful in PvP.
@@kurok1tenshi I'll still have fun. I played Dekaron(2Moons) for years without being p2w and enjoyed the hell out of it. Lose or win, I'm not gonna get heated because someone wants to pay their way up. I'm not big in PvP, mainly dungeon running. So them buying their way up will only help me in my playstyle. Unlike BDO, where it's PvP everywhere.
What I love the most about this game is that the devs continue to cook and add features we want. The combat now has a tripod system which totally changes the game. They are also adding more pve activities. Most games release with barely any added content or quality of life but NCsoft continues to improve. The future looks bright for this one. Give it a chance.
I loved the beta. As a console gamer who was late to FF14, BDO and ESO it’s refreshing to know that on release everyone will have new players and I’m not jumping on a game that players already have a bunch of max characters, fully established guilds and expect you to know everything as if you started years ago like they did… if you’re wondering if you’ll like this game, just try it to find out. EVERYONE told me as a new mmorpg console player that FF14, BDO and ESO were the best titles. I tried all of them and I already like Throne and Liberty better, it all depends on the player.
I really enjoyed it. Play every new MMO release (not that there are many) and this one gave me the itch again. Played every day of Beta and look forward to release.
The fact that you have to buy their cash shop currency to buy items from the in game Auction House is fucking insane. Korean mmo's are all p2w, but I think this one takes the cake.
You don't have to buy the currency to get the currency. You can get it by selling food made from fishing and selling items aquired through various means in the game. Everything in the AH is listed for sale by players, similar AH to BDO
I really appreaciate your videos you're always honest with your opinion! I respect that o7 regardless of that here's my points (I played KR on launch two character to max level + recent new character to max level with the new change): -Combat is subjective I personally like it and I tried the new changes it makes it way better so that's a + for me ( amazon or ncsoft messed up with global OBT by not introducing the changes that are coming in the global launch) -PvP I agree that if you're not in the big guilds you're about to have a hard time in this game -PvE they introduced tier 2 dungeons and a new tier that you can go from difficulty 1 to 30 so it progressivly gets harder - New life skills which are cooking, fishing and amitoi expedition -P2W we' all agree on that despite it being reduced for global -Population and server merges that's a tough one for sure - Yes this game was never meant to be for solo enjoyers if you don't have a guild don't even bother overall I think the game has a lot of potential and seems heading in a right direction but idk if it's enough or not for most people but for me personally I will be enjoying the game when it launches as I already enjoyed it before the changes in KR and with the changes it just felt better is it gonna be an MMO that brings everyone probably not but it will have it's audience and hopefully a healthy population
Do you also need a Guild to just progress through the chapters? Cuz I had quite some fun just doing quests in the Open Beta. But if that stops after Chapter 3 and you need Guild Stuff to progress I might not even bother with it. Unless I find a fitting Guild.
@@rakuloe you can progress the chapters fine without a guild, the thing is guild store rn is the only way of getting the healing potions for example + the weekly guild raids give you more chance of loot compared to open world raids, there is also guild open world events against other guilds so yes guild improve your progression quite a bit compared to not having one
I understand people keep mentioning that this game is pvp focussed. What i dont get is why few people talk about the fact that the developers said their goal is to eventually bring as much PVE content to the table as PVP. They also announced 12 man raids coming in january which I think is really promising overall.
One of the best feeling games out there in a long long time! FPS, graphics, performance were all wayyy above average and helped tie me in thematically and I guess I'm starting to prioritize that over other things lately. Especially after Final Descendant and Once Human, which are both horrendously optimized.
Brother I love your reviews. But you got this one wrong. Throne and Liberty is far from perfect but the core gameplay was extremely fun especially if you enjoy pvp. I dnt blame you for forming this analysis tho, it definitely has some clunkyness to the combat for sure but adjusting your settings can help a bit. Doesn’t solve the problem but can help. If you want large scale fun with loads of friends you will love throne and liberty. If you want solo loner pve content like my guy here you won’t like it.
there are a ton of things in Throne and Liberty that you LEARN over time the game opens up to new things. no way you can experience it all in a 4 day game play.
I believe you have a MMORPG depresion. Many of the things you say are just fine or at least above average for the majority if not 90% of the players. You are looking for the perfect game dude, get over it, it ain't happening any time soon. Start rating games based on a more realistic approach You have created an image of a game critic that everytime something stinks or doesn't feel good
I think a lot of people forget what this game was supposed to be. You couldn't move when attacking and just clicking auto would allow you to walk away while your character still attacked enemies. I get that not everyone is going to be head over heels in love with it but at least give them a chance. The devs have already talked about how there isn't much PVE content in game and they are already working on expanding on this (which imo is huge because this is a PVP focused game).
I haven't forgotten and I refuse to support it. Zebra don't change it's stripes now do they? Anyone who supports this game gets what they got which is debt from a P2W game.
The thing about their combat is that it was designed with autoplay before it was released in Korea. They had a massive pushback when the players complained to which they changed to remove it, but you can still feel the traces of auto-combat being there. Now they changed the combat to be more aligned with the initially advertised action tab-targeted combat. This is coming from a player that is currently playing via the Purple Launcher of NCSoft. I'd recommend for players to actually give it a shot and form their opinion once the game releases in the west.
New modifying skill system that was just updated in KR is insane, to mobs, boss fight and pvp. They just created a variety of choices for how you cope with situations. More AOE skills for mostly any weapons, you can customize skill specialization. I really hope they'd update it soon in Global, people should be enjoying it. About co-op dungeons, firstly you'll get 6 dungeons as we call it first tier, so you can fully grind your first epic tier gear, learn what gear suits you the most and upgrade your gear traits, so you can be ready for next tier dungeon which will be updated later after(not sure how long for global), which is harder and require and cooperation of teammates. Your gears have to be at some point already at the time. All that being said should take you a considerably amount of time which i think is enough for 6 dungeons. Once new patch is updated, you'll get another 5 dungeons to grind new epic2 tier sets and weapons. Open field dungeon is just for grinding sollant and clear contract quests basically, doesn't have much meaning in my point of view.
People are allowed to talk about why they don't like something. It helps to make games better. I'll use your own logic. If you don't like videos talking about not liking games you play, don't watch them.
@@Mystrasunno it doesn't. All the hate is propaganda and doesn't critique the game itself. Only thing they whine about is P2W trying to force that argument on us for every game. Developers take most of their feedback from their actual feedback
@@shira2151 hard disagree. Dismissing people's criticism of the game as propaganda is absurd. I'll concede that many people hate the game unreasonably, but dismissing everything that way is just being a blind fanatic. People are allowed to not like this game and to voice their reasons for doing so, and it absolutely does have P2Win mechanics that are anti consumer. People speaking about that criticism is the only way games can improve. Otherwise publishers can and will exploit you for every penny they can get out of you. If you like Throne and Liberty, more power to you. But you don't get to dictate how other people speak about the game just because you like it.
Feel like you just went into the game with a already negative view and not biased at all. Like really? Whats not to love the game looks amazing and feels great theres plenty of different play styles to do and you got the combat. I dont understand why people always try to put down the fun and good stuff and hype up the bad.
WONDERFUL game and I will be investing into it. People can cry all they want, bottom line is, it is fun and staggeringly beautiful. Cant wait for early access!
and @6:00 is exactly why this game will die. No one wants this type of MMo except a select small minority. PVE should have been the focus. and with that, i'm not bothering with this game anymore. Not that it will last long. and before the die hard pvp fanatics who are seething after reading that part, the game is already failing in korea and it's actually out there. any MMO focused on PVP is doomed to fail. and no, certain exceptions don't count.
I recommend everyone messing around with the combat setting options, there are a lot of things you can fine-tune to your liking. For me it went from unplayable to quite enjoyable very quickly.
Thank you for your time and effort clearl put into this review! To me the big difference between titles such as WoW and many new MMOs is that new titles usually don't care about lore at all, whilist WoW does (or did). As you said, most of these new MMOs are jam packet with mobs and screens and functionalities but they feel empty and souless nonetheless, and that is because they lack a story to support it, they lack lore overall.
i really enjoyed the spirit guardian quest and the corresponding mechanic. i dont wanna spoil anything but it was awesome. the character customization is amazing as well
I honestly loved the game. Graphics and music is top notch. The combat, once it clicked for me, became really fun. The Global release will have a new skill customization which might fix some of the problems stated in this video. But that's kinda relative at this point because a lot of people liked the combat as well. A new zone will be released months after the Global release too.
i played CBT and OBT and now im trying the new skill system on korea... i agree with some stuff u said.... the tab targeting is indeed clunky but there is the astral vision mecanic that can make it more enjoyable.... about the combat being clunky and wierd i feel a bit the same on a melle build but on a ranged build is different and better.... the new skills and the new skill system is changing ALOT (i can say it feels a diferent game) as a melle the aoe farm was kinda sad and boring, but now with the new skills adding more aoe to skills and higher range on them it feels very good... i enjoy the game because im a go all out kinda guy and like to be on top... is very pvp focused but they are trying to add more pve to make it a less pvp focus game... but from the begining they said it would be a game around guilds and pvp. I feel like the game lacks something but i enjoy it and want to see where it goes, i hope if goes well on global release and people get over the leveling part because lvl 50 is where the fun starts (the grind is not that bad and is enjoyable). love the video keep it up :)
Played a lot of different MMOs in the last 21 years and had my fun in the Beta. To be honest, I really love tab targeting Systems more today, than the fast passing VFX Party we got in some other Games, that change gameing from fun to work at the Keyboard. Bit wondering (negativ) about the new more opinion based Review Style than the past clear arguementiv Style I loved on this Channel in the past.
I agree with much of the negatives you said but some of it was also based on the beta experience and weapon choice. The content at launch is going to be much more than what was visible in the beta since the update to the Korean version came midway of the beta. At launch there will be more pve content like the 6 raids that were available at level 50 and there will be some lifeskilling amont other things. Regarding the feeling of combat you honestly hit the mark but with the sword & shield and wand combo which is more of a support and cc playstyle. Ranged combat feels much better, the movement is actually very important and more responsive. Also, weapons of the same class have different attack ranges on them which means you can get a sword & shield later in the game with more than 2 meter range. With the rest you are right, the game is more focused on large scale pvp which I feel is something that was missing on the market since everything out now is more focused on pve or small scale pvp content.
I played beta a lot and now I'm playing on korean server. First time since Lineage 2 that I'm fully excited about mmo game. It's really amazing! Give it a try guys, it'll be free to play. New update on korea is amazing! we'll have it on release I believe. Haven't play much PvP content yet, but PvE is amazing in this game! That's what actually pulled me in. So I don't know why Force is saying that it's not for PvE players.. Finally mmo where tanks and healers are important and can play their roles correctly during raid bosses and dungeons. Tanking feels really good. I feel once again like in lineage 2 times when I mained Shillien Knight and had much fun on raids with friends. Clan system is very good. Highly recommended for PvE and PvP players. Story is not bad too, so don't skip it at least when nice cinematics happens :D like singing drawf. Amazing full english voice over. Game is very polished, you even have features like built-in translations in chat
also something to note. If a "whale" comes along and my class COUNTERS that whale, I can kill him as a f2p player, paying 50k wont stop that. Also there is a cap on how much you can actually whale and upgrade, its gated a bit so I never had many problems with the whales. Its still going to be a lot of fun!!
i really enjoyed my time in the beta, it had all the fundamental things i was looking for, and felt like an average mmo with a cool mount system and great graphics, and imo fun combat.
I always thought about Guild vs Guild wars that they should have somehting like this. Guild A -> small guild with 20 players Guild B -> big guild with 2k players. Wars are instanced battles of, say 10 vs 10 players (can be made bigger for fun) and you will have as many parallel battles as players has in the smallest guilds. So, in this case 2 battles. And it's like a match of whoever wins more of these battles, wins the war. This way small guild have an impact, but still bigger guilds have the upper hand (as I think they should) because they would have the option to chose the better players
GLHF.
The amount of work and love devs are giving to this game is insane. Also, endgame is really good and combat change a lot give a try in global release.
@ForceGamingYT There it is. The disclaimer comment meant to set up future vids on the game without looking like a hypocrite now that the realization set in that most of the audience didn't agree with your take.
For what it's worth, the reception to the changes in the Korean version seems to be pretty positive. Guess we'll see in September.

It is interesting watching this right after watching Kanon's video where he went over thew new skill system stuff that is coming - it seems like a lot of that will emphasize or even reward moving in combat.
it feels like a classic mmo but with modern graphics, that's good

(heavy bull shit level of pay to win.)
I personally think it will be the former not the ladder.
The beta was extremely impressive from my perspective. Feels like a better version of Guildwars 2 with elements of FF14 and DAOC. Its been interesting to see so many KOLs rolling out videos wildly discordant with my experience.
The GW2 launch received similarly mixed sentiment.
Daoc was the goat for pvp
This. 100% agree.
In what way is it better than GW2?
Lmao. Mark my words. This person won't be playing the game past the 1st week

Glad to see a lot of people like the game I thought I was alone can’t wait for it to drop
My main issue is how on rails it feels. They may have removed the autoplay but they cant remove the mobile game port feel.
100% this felt very mobile game.

Play better games the combat is ass
P2W and PVP game what could go wrong. Theres a reason why this failed in SK.
I agree this game ran great an blew me away how good it is I couldn't believe how many players on screen at once stunning game 09/12 let's go❤
This game wont last hyped for more than a vouple of months. F2p players will be sick of being kicked off their asses and quit. P2w players will try to make their spending last but will have noone to fight against.
TLDR: I like PVP.
Do you think you'll be buying New World on Console?
Try out the Kr version with the new system and combat changes feels smoother and more engaging. I do feel though for them to survive PVE is a must in this day and age especially if the story and expansions are interesting

pay 2 progress absolutely obliterates pvp focused games and makes guilds unify based on which spends the most, which causes everyone to form an alliance and suddently new players/guilds can't compete.

"Collect these items, that turn into a currency, that you spend to unlock this thing, that will allow you to fill this gauage, by doing this daily, that Time-Gates you from fun content that you want to do, because you have to upgrade your thing, with these items that drop from the thing that's been gated, because playing what is fun is only allowed once or twice per day, so that you play more, but you don't want to play more now, because you feel that it's a job, because if you miss a day you feel behind, and if you can upgrade your gear with materials you get from the dungeon you did or the content you ran, and it fails, you have to do it all over again, by collecting the currency, to get the thing, to fill the gauge, to do the daily quest, that is time-gated, because you have to upgrade your thing, that can potentially fail, and if it fails you are back to scratch.......
.... Unless. You spend real money in our cash shop, in which case, you can..."
No, Pass.
"But we need the time gate so you don't run out of content"
If playing what is fun, in an MMO is considered bad because you 'run out of content' then the content in the MMo is bare bones, and not worth doing in the first place. Let me spend my time the way i want. Thrones and liberty is a perfect example of this,. There's a reason why korea thought it was bad.
You dont understand, we must protect the children at all costs!
Gosh.

You're playing this game wrong. Its updated Lineage 2 and im here for it. Get a group, and farm hard. Get gear and win olympiad/castles
In the recent years, there hasnt been any new MMOs that give us anything interesting, unfortunately... I'm not saying that this one will blow your mind, but I had the opposite experience you did. I went in with little expectation and ended up playing non-stop and getting a KR account waiting for the Global release!
So glad to read the comments and see many people actually tried the game and loved it. I am also surprised a few people hated the combat so much
I honestly never understood most of these guild based PvP games, considering most players want to play exclusively to win, especially as that's how you get most rewards faster or at all, and then it's objectively best to dog pile all onto the one wining side, at least until it's so lopsided you kill off the entire point of the game.
P2W + PvP focused should be enough for everyone to skip this one immediately. P2W in PvE is annoying, P2W in PvP is completely unacceptable.
Nah, it's fine. I'm a f2p and I'm doing just fine in PvP.

Like Rev this game is for the devs to hunt whales mostly. I wouldn't expect a long shelf life on it.
and its Korean, it WILL turn into a pay-to-win, PvP-fest very soon after release.
@lathamtk I don't think it will happen. I think they will copy the likes of genshin.

Worst combat i have ever experienced in an mmo. This game was already dead during the Open beta. after a week or two this game will be.
This is your 1st mmo then bc the combat is perfectly fine.
If you're older than 12, you know this combat is just fine. Plus, how do you compare an open beta vs the full release??
The fact that you have to buy their cash shop currency to buy items from the in game Auction House is fucking insane. Korean mmo's are all p2w, but I think this one takes the cake.
You get cash shop currency by selling items on the AH though.
The 20+ year long running WESTERN mmo named Eve Online would like to have a word with you child.
You don't have to buy the currency to get the currency. You can get it by selling food made from fishing and selling items aquired through various means in the game. Everything in the AH is listed for sale by players, similar AH to BDO
Play FF14 it's best in the genre for MMOs. Nobody going to be playing this garbage in a month, it's DOA
I really appreaciate your videos you're always honest with your opinion! I respect that o7
regardless of that here's my points (I played KR on launch two character to max level + recent new character to max level with the new change):
-Combat is subjective I personally like it and I tried the new changes it makes it way better so that's a + for me ( amazon or ncsoft messed up with global OBT by not introducing the changes that are coming in the global launch)
-PvP I agree that if you're not in the big guilds you're about to have a hard time in this game
-PvE they introduced tier 2 dungeons and a new tier that you can go from difficulty 1 to 30 so it progressivly gets harder
- New life skills which are cooking, fishing and amitoi expedition
-P2W we' all agree on that despite it being reduced for global
-Population and server merges that's a tough one for sure
- Yes this game was never meant to be for solo enjoyers if you don't have a guild don't even bother
overall I think the game has a lot of potential and seems heading in a right direction but idk if it's enough or not for most people but for me personally I will be enjoying the game when it launches as I already enjoyed it before the changes in KR and with the changes it just felt better
is it gonna be an MMO that brings everyone probably not but it will have it's audience and hopefully a healthy population
Do you also need a Guild to just progress through the chapters? Cuz I had quite some fun just doing quests in the Open Beta. But if that stops after Chapter 3 and you need Guild Stuff to progress I might not even bother with it. Unless I find a fitting Guild.
@@rakuloe you can progress the chapters fine without a guild, the thing is guild store rn is the only way of getting the healing potions for example + the weekly guild raids give you more chance of loot compared to open world raids, there is also guild open world events against other guilds so yes guild improve your progression quite a bit compared to not having one
saw this coming a mile away, people are just so desperate for a new mmo they will convince themselves anything new will be great
I am forsure going to play it
I understand people keep mentioning that this game is pvp focussed. What i dont get is why few people talk about the fact that the developers said their goal is to eventually bring as much PVE content to the table as PVP. They also announced 12 man raids coming in january which I think is really promising overall.
As someone who had deep love for Lineage 2, I will enjoy T&L.
If you want solo loner pve content like my guy here you won’t like it.
nothing about this game is unique
there are a ton of things in Throne and Liberty that you LEARN over time the game opens up to new things. no way you can experience it all in a 4 day game play.
I believe you have a MMORPG depresion.
Many of the things you say are just fine or at least above average for the majority if not 90% of the players.

Possible hot take. My favorite action combat mmo is wildstar
I never got to play it but I do want to point out the game is dead and the servers are offline. Good ideas just poorly executed
Game was amazing. So tired of people who don't like the game crying. Don't play it
People are allowed to talk about why they don't like something.
People speaking about that criticism is the only way games can improve. Otherwise publishers can and will exploit you for every penny they can get out of you. Long story short - it’s a boring Korean MMO
Some novel ideas but right now it’s the combat that needs a massive overhaul.
As you said, most of these new MMOs are jam packet with mobs and screens and functionalities but they feel empty and souless nonetheless, and that is because they lack a story to support it, they lack lore overall.
i played it and was very fun tbh
I'm sorry to hear that
i really enjoyed the spirit guardian quest and the corresponding mechanic. i dont wanna spoil anything but it was awesome.
the character customization is amazing as well
I honestly loved the game.
Yo. Another vid that i can watch on Asmon's channel. Such a time to be alive. Thank you Force!
i really enjoyed my time in the beta, it had all the fundamental things i was looking for, and felt like an average mmo with a cool mount system and great graphics, and imo fun combat.
I liked the game. The graphics are very nice, the combat is good after i disable the auto movements. I imagine myself playing more of it
I always thought about Guild vs Guild wars that they should have somehting like this.
Guild A -> small guild with 20 players
Guild B -> big guild with 2k players.
