Das Deutsch-Deutsche Museum Mödlareuth in Oberfranken - ein Symbol der deutschen Teilung. Das Dorf war bis 1990 wie Berlin von einer Mauer durchtrennt.

My apologies that I only speak einfaches Deutsch.
It was my honor to serve the German people patrolling the border at Mödlareuth from 1983-1985. I was assigned to 2/2 Armored Cavalry Regiment in Bamberg and was sent to Hof for border patrol duty 6 times. Mödlareuth will always hold a very special place in my heart because the people were so kind to the American G.I.'s. I have been back to visit Germany 3 times since reunification, and each time I have gone to visit Mödlareuth. The fondest memories of my life were from that time.
