Norm was a master of delivery. He would often say his punchline in half the time most folks think the pause should be, which catches people a little unexpectedly but worked because he didn't give you time to come up with your own punchline. If a comic pauses too long, I make up my own punchline. There is pause for effect of course, but I like Norm's style because A. it's often corny as hell, signature Norm, and B. even though you're expecting it, his delivery alone is hilarious no matter what the joke is. Also he didnt care if a joke was a bomb, he would tell it anyway. You don't know until you tell it and just because it bombed last night doesn't mean it'll bomb tonight. Different day, different crowd. Norm's style as kind of a deer in the headlights, amazed at the words that he just said comic is genius.
