Nice build….. I just assembled mine yesterday. As far as your issue with the elevator connection, I just took the pushrod out, connected it to the elevator, and slid it in ! Easy, peasey!!!
getting upset while setting up these types of things is SO relatable especially in the elevator screw part
I loved your in-depth setup discussion. I am new to the hobby and have been relying on "old heads" to set up the transmitter. Now I can pause your video and do it myself. I will be ordering the Fox 2.3M very soon.
NICE! Good for you Steve! So much to learn if you're just getting into it, or even if your just getting BACK into it!
We're glad you're here with us, and hope you'll be around to work through some of the new issues these manufacturers have decided to make for us - LOL!
Just started watching you and flying about four months ago. And now I’m in the process of buying my fifth plane. The fox 3m Will be my sixth. Also never realized you were from Iowa I grew up in Maquoketa and now live in the quad cities
Aeroscout, turbo timber, two Conscendo Evolution love it, and picking up my Draco tomorrow.
Very glad to hear! Draco is really cool, and good luck!
As for living in Iowa, yep, we're from here ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC I’m a combat vet and I suffer from ptsd. your videos got me in to something that really helps. Never thought sitting in a lawnchair flying a conscendo for hours would help so much. I want to say thank you 🙏 and your wife.
Hi Brian. Turned out that I had a bad splitter cable. Fixed that then found I had a bad extension cable. Fixed that then a flap servo burned out! Ordered a replacement. I only hope that I don't total this thing first flight!
Thanks again for the invaluable advice and positive attitude.
Ron - That's CRAZY!!!! So sorry you have such a bad lemon!!! I hate when this happens to people, but I especially hate it when it happens to me when I'm filming - LOL (laugh or cry...)
I'm VERY surprised at the bad luck, but trust that it was a fluke. FMS has a pretty good reputation for quality...especially on their 2nd and 3rd renditions of planes, where they've had a chance to fix sizing issues...
Either way, sorry for your bad luck, and hope you'll have one in the air ASAP!
Looks good ... Flys good ... able to leap tall trees ... change the coarse of a bad mood . It's a winner !
LOL - exactly!!!
Your depth perception is top notch. Just when I think your going to hit the tree
Thanks for your unboxing and reviews for even thoughI'm a experienced pilot it's nice to see your build because it lets us know and saves a lot of time
Thanks Alan! Glad you're getting some good out of the videos!
I ordered this 1 a couple of weeks ago. It arrived Friday, picked it up yesterday, & assembled it yesterday. (Huebie & me! 😳😁). Being used to less than 1.5m, i hit my truck, garage, huebie, myself, moved the truck & hit HIS truck, him again, myself a few more times, garage again 😳! Thing is huge!
Im still trying to figure out HOW to get it assembled in my canyon truck bed!!!
UPDATE:
It actually fits without removing either wing! BUT, 6" extends beyond the tailgate, & Tonneau cover. Luckily, i travel less than a mile to the field! 👍😁
AWESOME! I totally get it...hit everything on the way out the door - LOL - you should do the 3M Fox ;) It's HUGE!
I sat through this hole video. Well done. You explain things as you go and show all components and demonstrate. We need teachers like you. What do you do for a living ?
I work on industrial scales - calibration, service, installations, design, build of systems, and system integration, as well as software programming and integration. In my profession, I'm always learning and teaching. Occasionally I'm hired out to do technical training for maintenance groups, but like I try to explain to these maintenance managers, it would be better that I just come and work with your guys when you break down, and I can teach them by NOT bringing my tools in...this forces their guys to DO the work, but I'm there to help them along the way. This helps a lot, since I can only be in one place at a time, and I service a large geographical area for service, and an even larger area for systems and integration.
As it turns out I had to rebind , and there it was I just hope my inputs are correct but the control surfaces are moving as s they should. Its so cool Thanks again
AWESOME!!!
Finally a good review on this plane! Got one about a month ago. Cut my ailorons off and put normal hinges in. Easy fix way better movement with less ailorn flex.
Good idea with the ailerons! I need to do that too. Other than that and a bit of difficulty on the elevator, this plane has been awesome...WELL, I forgot, catching loads of crap in the ESC vent...which is rather annoying, but typical of belly landing sail planes ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC your reviews are great man! Same issues with mine. eley was a pain and I just put a spektrum esc in mine couldn't figure out that weird throttle issue.
The FMS line is top notch, the foam is excellent, the plane flight like a dream, and with Inav install is even better. Keep the box for storage.
Yep, all true, but I can't keep that many boxes around - LOL ;)
Hey Brian, cheers from Calgary Canada, we had an incident at our summer fun fly last July where as a member had his aircraft sitting on the ground, in the ready position, power on, throttle cut on. Or shall I say what he thought was proper throttle cut" When setting up throttle cut you need to also make sure you have "Require Stick Low?" YES selected as well, this is imperative.
Other wise if the switch is accidently hit and the throttle stick is not in the most absolute low position, that prop will spin and do damage to flesh and bone lol.
Yeah, that's a huge bummer when people get cut!!!
Throttle cut is a huge and valuable tool, but no matter how many safeguards we put between us and the prop, it comes down to discipline, and to be honest, some good luck that we don't ever "forget". I'm about to start flying PPG and the percentages of serious injuries from the prop are staggering! I don't want to get hit by a 1.3m prop at 8400RPM!!!!
Hi Brian. I drill deeper holes into my wings and put there carbon rod 1000x10mm. Wings are fixed. It's a very nice plane and well fly without Gyro.
NICE!!!
Thank you for this video! I wanted this plane so much but that build process is ridiculous. I would rather spend double the money and buy the FOX 3000 mm glider with all the plug and play assembly. It's now a no brainer.
GOOD CALL - I agree with you, and while this plane is still nice, I'd agree that the 3m is WAY better, and you can break it down so much easier that it'll be almost more usable anyway!
Awesome job as always guys I must admit I was never really a sale plane guy but watching your videos is swaying my opinion Maybe sooner than I think 👍👍 awesome job
Great to hear! I thought they were BUTT UGLY when I got into flying RC, but after flying a few, and now have a special place in my heart for them!!!
Wow I can’t believe how huge is that. That is huge that probably needs a lot of space.
Actually, it is huge, but very easy to fly and land.
Hi Brian thanks for your video. After getting my fox to balance at 40mm CG and using a 1300 battery I had my maiden and found the glider just wanted to nose down all the time. So I pushed the battery position further backwards until she stopped trying to nose down and then measured the balance point on the CG to find it is more 50mm not 40mm ... Have you had the same issue with the glider needing elevator up trim right to its max...
Cant believe you just posted this today. I am awaiting delivery of this very model in the next couple of days. This has given me a great headsup to what is ahead of me. Great flying shots too. 👍
Tip. Sand a slight bevel on the outer edge of the wing joiners so it just guides itself into the screwed clamps.
Nice idea!
I discovered decades ago, using a foot or 2 of solder, u can make servo leads go just about everywhere using solder. 😁👍
So you used SOLDER as the wire!??! LOL
@@BrianPhillipsRC
Use solder to fish the wire thru. Worked exceptionally well on the fms sky trainer! Down the square chute, with the dual 90 degree turns at the fuselage. 👍
Great review, I bought this glider about a month ago, it's still in the box, been busy building some Willy Nillies aircraft kits, these kits are some of the best on the market, all laser cut wood and very affordable, most of them are $38. Do you guys send the kids to their rooms when you do these reviews seems like we never see them. I really cherish sharing my hobby with my grand kids and they have become pretty darn good pilots for only being 8 & 9 years old......
Very cool! We send the kids downstairs. We setup a pretty nice area for them now, fully equipped with doors to go out and play, toilet and sink ;) They also come up between clips on some of the more frustrating builds. We don't show the kids because of many complicated, and generally stupid rules AND for their safety.
Ok then. He is back at it. Great job again son.
Thanks Bobby!
Hi Brian, the Fox 2.3m is nice but I already bought the FMS ASW-17 and I will say that it is fantastic.
Agree, Drones Chillán. I have the ASW-17 too, and I couldn't imagine this 2.3m Fox being as good as it. I could see perhaps buying the 3m version, but unlikely that I'd buy this one.
Not bad points. The 3M fox is better, but it's heavier, and HUGE...and a lot more money too, but it is better.
You a very lucky to have such a good sport for a camera crew.👯🕝
Yes I am!
Always entertaining and informative! Can't wait for DRACO!! Soon, right?? ;)
Already released now, but I'm way behind on comments - sorry about that!!!
Can't wait for you fly-unbox-setup on the 2M plane next to your Cat Tower - :)
Glad you noticed ;)
Wow the yard looks great you two, can hardly wait to see the yard work video with that 2m reddish rake! lmao
Glad we got it done, but I'm so backlogged on replying to comments since the Yardwork video was super popular ;) It is spring time, after all - LOL!!!!
I can’t wait till my pre ordered RAKE arrives. :).
LOL - That RAKE is great!!!
Rake?
For those who would prefer to purchase the voltage adapter, HH/Spectrum has a pre-made one... Telemetry Battery Voltage Sensor: EC3/IC3 Item No. Spektrum - SPMA9556
just FYI take the linkeage for the elevator off of the servo. its easier
GOOD IDEA! Thanks David
Nice powered glider and it looks very well behaved with plenty of power. Sail Plane or not I'd stay in the throttle ;-) See you in the Air!
Gotta get out of the throttle, since you will go faster out of throttle on most sail planes ;)
Gday Brian. I think I might get myself one of these. I was just sitting out side I was watching a couple of Eagles hunting over the top of the hill I watched them for around half an hour and I never saw the flap there wings once. I think my location will be excellent for slope souring
That would be a great place to either thermal or slope soar, for sure! Find and follow birds - that' one of the best ways to find thermals...but be careful you don't piss them off, they can and do attack planes from time to time.
@@BrianPhillipsRC my word really..... Wow imagine that.... I could have dog fights with them , excuse my rookie mentality I'm sure it says somewhere we're not allowed to dogfight eagles lol. I'm in Australia so I'm not exactly sure what kind of birds they are I will have to get the telescope out and try I d them. But yeah as soon as I saw them I thought yes this is the place. And I can do this sitting on my deck. I so wish I had got into rc before now. With a heap of experience this place would keep a pilot happy and challenged.. It's a sail plane playground as well as a Draco playground. The only downfall is my runway. I have to share it with cars... Lol although I'm up the end of a not finished development all the power is underground. I got this great hill with a dirt runway and also a tarmac runway however they both have about a 10 degree rise or fall depending on which way you land. I would rather a flat runway. The up hill / down hill thing is somewhat challenging... OK thanks for listening take care. Regards to the camera crew
Hey brian, another awesome video. I would like to see you put a camera on some of your planes,I have a 1.5 meter sail plane and it so great to see the landscape around my neighborhood. It is really inexpensive to do it(I'm sure you know) I have a 10in. monitor so I can easily look at the plane line of sight if I need to but the fpv part of it is awsome, you will be hooked if you try it because it is the best of both worlds
I have the gear and have done it, but since this is a monetized channel, I can't legally share aerial footage without a part 107 license ;(... yet another STUPID, POINTLESS rule from our omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent federal government..
SO your comment about getting back into the hobby (me), got this probably a month and a half ago. Still haven't flown it. Got to where I am flying my Turbo out of SAFE so after seeing this. The throwing had me freaked out but after seeing you throw it with no power... I'm thinking its time.
It IS time - get out there and fly her. She's a great flying plane, and if you set it up like I did, you will be very happy!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC put the AR636B and copied settings from the Timber for SAFE, so yeah. Horizon said I should be good although they said I will want to dial heading gain back sooner than later to get the full fun of her. Will probably just shut SAFE off after a flight or 2 if she's that stable. I intend to keep altitude for now!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Your still messing with wings so I haven't got to radio yet
Just bought a second hand DX8 Gen 1 from one of the club members so maybe I'll try crow down the road. My DX6e is bound right now...
I don't want a sail plane and I don't want FMS, but I watched anyway. Yep still learned things...thx. I heard HH say they were releasing the DRACO on Fri. so I expect to see your video then. The DRACO is too big for my standards right now but still looking forward to the video. Always a fun time with the Phillips team.
Jack - when you get ready, the Draco is amazing :)
When do we get to see the Draco 2m ? Your killing me Brian 😂
I know right, I’m waiting for his “ Draco “ footage also always informative 🤩but looks like we will all be unboxing ours on the same day which “ 4/23 “ and that’s right around the corner 🐉 almost here. Happy Taco Tuesday 🌮 and 4:20 all.

Mean while I’ll be training with my UMX Timber Turbo then after that the warbirds will fly, then guess what my graduation plane will be ? That beautiful ” Draco “ will be released to fly in the California sky ☀️. In the Mean while Merry Christmas in the spring for you and enjoy that brand, spanking new beast 🐉 “ Cheers “ 🥂
Coming soon - LOL - I already released the footage, and you all know it...but I'm this log jammed from the popularity of the videos ;)
That place looks like it’s very aerobatic
Sure is! Most sail planes are ;)
I do not remember having the elevator horn problem other than access. I unhooked the rod from the servo and pulled it out more...
I think mine was twisted to the wrong angle, but just kinda awkward... it worked out okay in the end ;)
Not wasting my time Brian I am building while watching!!!😜
Another fantastic review Brian...but I can't make up my mind over the Fox 2.3 or the ASW 17...I will be doing some slope 30%

It was great! That Rake was the best Rake I've ever used ;) Gotta see the videos, which I realize you already DID, I'm just behind on comments - sorry about that!
First, thanks for sharing this. I've got to say however, that I could feel the frustration during the build. Honestly, this seemed like more of a Dynam product than FMS. Watching the build (admittedly not all of it) and the flying, I'd have to say that a buyer would be much better served by spending the extra $100 and buying the 2.5m FMS AWS-17 than this 2.3m Fox. The AWS-17 appears to be substantially better constructed, easier to assemble and flies like an absolute dream - no wing flexing there.
Honestly, knowing that you've already got the AWS-17 and the 3m Fox, I'm just not sure why you'd be inclined to want the 2.3m Fox. Think I'd have to pass on this one. But, I do nonetheless appreciate the build and fly review.
Again, as always thanks much for sharing.
Steve
Not bad points, but this plane flies so much different. It is Very light on it's feet, but you're right. I was frustrated putting it together, and I'm very BAD at "faking" it...so this makes me a good reviewer from a potential buyers perspective, but a BAD reviewer from the MFG's perspective - LOL!
I have to remember that sometimes we run into issues that are basically me overlooking a simple item, or just now knowing something, so I try to check my frustration and keep it pent up for if the plane FLIES bad....then I can come unglued ;) LOL!
Great video you guys keep up the good work. I have a great idea for you guys if you want that aircraft to slowdown do motor reversing 😳 like the Night Tember the Draco. 😂 = ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great flying and thanks for the build up video too. Would this glider fly good with a 3000mah battery. also what is your thoughts, this glider vs ASW28 or is there any other better glider around 2500mm ? Thanks
The Tower Hobbies ASW28 is amazing, but it's still only 2m, rather than this being 2.3m - both are very good!
If you want a HUGE sail plane experience, the 3M Fox is amazing too!
bprc.me/FMS_Fox | bprc.me/HH_FMS_Fox (Both sizes of FMS here)
bprc.me/TH_ASW28
I hope this answers your question.
P.S. We've done a few other sail planes in or about that size class, and they all can stand on their own two feet, but the ones you asked about, and I linked too, are very good.
@@BrianPhillipsRC many thanks Brian. I just sent to HSD to ask if they could send you the hsd cessna 2000mm. You really put a lot of effort in your videos ! thank you . 👌
How would you compare the asw17, phoenix2400 and this?
The ASW17 2.5m is way nicer, the Phoenix 2400 is on par with this Fox, but gotta keep in mind, 2.5m is about 10% bigger and that's a big difference on a sailplane.
That flies nice
yeah, and it's LIGHT too, so it'll do all the stuff you want a sail plane to do. The bigger 3m is AWESOME, but it's pretty heavy.
I'm looking forward to that Rake review. Will you be allowed to share how it is in the garden? On the 23rd?
Already up...sorry for my slow reply, we were WAY behind!!! Just getting caught up tonight - FINALLY!
Thank you
You're welcome!
I wanted one of these, but backed ordered, like most everything during covid! Thanks Covid! Can I use a 4 cell on this model? Think it could use a bit more punch ;)
I think she's a 3S plane...
YESSS ! GLIDER ! Beautiful plane but where's the WOOOOOOSH ?
It's there, but subtle. The lav mics don't always pick it up well.
Brian. Hello from the UK. I just got the Fox 2.3M and your video is a Godsend. Getting the canopy off is crazy but your tip with the Scotch tape is brilliant.
I have a problem with flaps. I'm using the NX8 with a 6-channel Rx. I'm running the flaps on a spltter cable from Rx position 5. My problem is that the flap servos are operating like ailerons: one goes up and the other goes down! Any ideas? Thanks a lot.
This means they used a WRONG SERVO on one side or the other. Hope I'm not saying what you may already know, but there's such a thing as a "REVERSE" servo...where the output shaft moves in the OPPOSITE direction.
This can be accomplished without buying a REVERSING SERVO, but if you prefer, you can just track down a reversing servo too. Here's how to do it...
1) Remove the Servo from the wing. Kicker (CA Accelerator) will "melt" the china glue holding it in. You don't have to have it out TOO far even, a few inches of cable might be enough if you're good with a soldering iron.
2) Open the bottom of the servo.
3) Unsolder and swap the motor leads...so it runs the OTHER way.
4) Unsolder TWO of THREE of the leads and swap them on the FEEDBACK TRIM POT.
5) Reassemble it, and return servo it to the wing
Remember, you only have to do this to ONE of the two - doesn't matter which one, it'll be the OPPOSITE after this procedure.
Alternately, you can pull the servo out and flip it on the FLAT Side and you'll notice it goes the other direction, BUT you will need to cut a new hole and use that "Plug" to fill the servo hole your servo just came from.
Good luck Ron!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Hi Brian. Thanks for the reply. I don't trust my soldering skills that much so I'll go for the servo flipping. I'm quite good with an Exacto knife!
Brian Phillips! I’ve been following your channel for a while now, in fact since you reviewed the volantex p51 mustang from banggood! I must say, your videos are great and ‘camera crew’ does a great job filming the planes flying!
I know you just reviewed a giant fms corsair but I think there’s a whole lot of people like myself interested in something more affordable and less intimidating than a 1700mm warbird.
In that regard, I was wondering if you were aware of the fms 800mm rtf Corsair for under 150$? And the brand new 750 mm pnp Corsair from hobby king?
If so would you consider reviewing these someday? and maybe a comparison? That would be fantastic! thanks!
I would do it, but I just don't like to deal with Hobbyking. I'm sorry on this one. I don't say no lightly.
Hi Brian
I just got my 2.3 Fox, and in wondering if I can exchange the motor and the ESC with the stock motor and ESC from my Eflite Cherokee that longer flies.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks
Probably, but it might be a bit challenging for the size issues you might encounter.
MY motor smoked the 3rd battery. I dont see 1 anywhere on HH site. Would YOU happen to know anywhere that has a replacement? Those first couple of flights were nice tho 👍
Oh no! I'd call up HH and ask what's going on... I couldn't see the motor on the "Replacement Parts"
FMS-Motor 4018 Kv900 - I looked it up in the manual.
I found a site offering the part (but it's in Lebanon), but I'd talk to HH first. If you didn't do anything crazy, they might help you out.
YESSSS ! GLIDER ! Looks awesome but where the WOOOSH ?
It's there, but hard to hear due to lav mic not picking it up very well.
Hi Brian, I am thinking of buying new plane. I started flying just while ago, but I am already doing good. Which plane you recomend? Fox 2300, ASW 17, pulse 2200 or something else? I love your videos and I'd Like to hear your opinion. Thanks a lot. Have a nice day 😊
There's so many choices, but if you like Sail Planes, the ASW 17 is VERY GOOD!
ASW17 2.5m bit.ly/3nLuFjU
AR637T bit.ly/3pW3u86 (full telemetry) OR AR631 bit.ly/3pYNC3c (if you don't want as much telemetry)
Nice video. Do you prefere the 2.3m Fox or the 2.0m FunRay?
What a beauty 👌
she sure is!
HI BRIAN, THANKS FOR THE GREAT REVIEW & VIDEO WORK ALSO. I NOTICED ON MY FOX THAT THE AILERONS HAVE A TRAVEL PROBLEM "FLEX" AT THE OUT BOARD TIPS. DOES IT AFFECT THE ROLL RATE? DOESN'T SEEM TO AFFECT THE FLYING IN YOUR VIDEO. SHOULD I JUST FLY IT AS IS OR DID YOU DO ANY MODIFICATIONS. MAHALO!🌴
I wouldn't make mods, but if you want it to roll FASTER, you might have to make a SPAR in the control surface.
Thank you, will try to fly it next week. Looks like it did not affect the the flying on your Fox! Mahalos!
Great video as usual. I'm still learning the nuances of the AR 631 and I notice you held the bind button down as you powered up the receiver. Is that really necessary? Won't the receiver go into bind after it is powered up by just pressing the button? That's the way I did it for the first plane I used that receiver on and I didn't notice any issues although I only set up AS3X and did not use safe.
This was when we first started working with the AR631 and AR637T...when we setup a BNF plane, we needed to do some of this, since we didn't use FORWARD PROGRAMMING to Setup and Assign AS3X and SAFE functions, but now that we're getting used to it, we've since figured out that you can just PRESS the button.
On a BNF, you have to do it either one way or the other for SAFE SELECT...which is actually different than fully setup PNP setup.
So, to more clearly answer your question... YES and NO - LOL ;)
Yes if it's a BNF where you can choose between binding with SAFE Select active
No if you're setting up a PNF, where the Rx has no idea what plane it's in, and you'll have to go through the "First Time Setup" - this also means that it's not going to have AS3X OR SAFE by "default"....you have to set them BOTH up.
Hope this answers your question, plus a bit ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Yes. I didn't think about the forward programming issue (or lack of it). I've had some difficulties moving my Valiant from my DX6 to my new NX8 while trying to use the DX8's BNF profiles. Should be easy...RC Girl had no problem doing it but I've managed to get it all jiggered up. Going back to square one. Thanks
Hi Brian, if I may ask you to compare your experience with Fox 2300 vs Volantex Phoenix 2400. I plan buying one of the two and would appreciate your opinion. Greetings from Chicago! Many thanks!
The Phoenix is a solid plane, but I did it so long ago, I will be hard pressed to give a great review of my findings.
Here's what I can say. The Phoenix is solid, and heavy, where the Fox 2300mm is light and flexible. If you're going to thermal, you might like the Fox slightly better. If you're going to fly like me, you might better enjoy the Phoenix.

The gliders are a ball, I have had them up for up to an hour before.
Me too, it was awesome!
The Fox 2300 mm or the asw-17 2500mm. Which one is the best? Clip system is secure?
Just ordered the Sport Cub s, plus 5 additional lipos. Can that plane handle 2s batteries?
No, 1S only James. Great choice to get your feet wet!!!
Does the AS3X have return-to-home built in?
Hi Brian. Fantastic videos; thank you. Would like to get a glider but have no clue what to buy. Am a newb to rc but am really experienced with drones. Any suggestions?
Start simple...then add more planes as you get comfortable...

@@BrianPhillipsRC Thank you so much! Keep up the good work with the videos. I just love watching them.
How does this compare with the Conscendo Evolution?
It's bigger, more presence, but less punchy and powerful
How can you make yours come so gently slow on landing ? Mine comes like abrakeless truck downhill.
Practice, wind direction, and possibly more flaps on mine? Too many variables for me to say for certain, but practice helps a lot.
I love rakes, just have a rake conspiracy theory, mark of the Rake beast.😝😝😝🤣🤣
LOL - Very nice!
There is no protection for servos and arms under the wings when landing on grass!!?
do you know what motor is in this glider? need to buy a prop for it... i got one used ...thanks for sharing
I wouldn't know any better than what's listed in the manual.
We have a link to the product, and if you click there, then scroll down, there's a link to the manual for easy recovery.
I bought the FMS ASW-17 based on the videos you've posted and I've studied this one a bit mainly because I'm interested in the types of set ups the sail plane flyers us to get more out of there planes. I also have spent a week or so going through RUclips searches to find a good tutorial on setting up sailplane flight modes using the Spektrum transmitter (I have an NX 8) sailplane menus. Most are either too simple or too complex.
I get that It will probably take an 8 channel receiver to split out both flaps and ailerons for the ASW-17. My 8 channels are tied up in other planes right now so I'm starting by only spitting out ailerons. That would look like what you do here I think.
But I have three questions:
1. Beyond the review, if you were using this for either thermal soaring, slope soaring (I've seen your video in the back forty), or some warm liner flying, do you feel like A3SX is worth the trouble on these 2 meterish planes?
2. I know it's a little off mission but some of us might love to see you do a second or third thoughts on the Foxes and the ASW-17 that concentrates just on the types of glider setups that you can get from the Spektrum sailplane menu.
3. Who is the Danish sailplane guru you follow? I've run across a German guy that records in English who seems to really know his stuff but he uses one of the transmitter brands more popular in Europe. Also Tommy RC does a good job on DLGs although he seems to be mainly a FPV racing guy.
4. Bonus question: I hope Hobby King will give you the new version 2 of their Excaliber warm liner. I'd love to see you review it (I have one coming this week).
Keep up the good work!
speedsterden - He's very good!
AS3X is not a huge factor if you're thermalling, but with new setups, you can shut if off and turn it back on with the flip of a switch. Also, if you use an AR637T you can have a vario too ;)
Hello, I want some soaring video😍🖐️
I will try my best to get to a site, and we'll capture footage, but this is a 3+ hour drive, so not sure when I'll get out there.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Of course, I understand that, I have everything close - the same terrain for the sailplan are good also for paragliding👌but Im looking forward to your soaring video🖐️ greetings from Czechia✌️
Where i can buy stand like you has for plane > ?
RC Stand bit.ly/3bdD1O4
We've been using this for some time, and super easy to use.
OK WHAT YOU DONE WRONG....
NO CAMERA CREW.. BUT MEGHAN... WHO'S BEEN A NAUGHTY BOY THEN.... hahahahahahaha that power glider silent as an owl... Brilliant
Stay well you 2
Brian
LOL ;)
Could you stack two of your 1300's and just Y them for a 2600? Or would it still not give you enough for balance and or canopy issues?
If you can fit them and get the CG right, you can do it. Heavy planes can fly BETTER, but this is highly subjective.
Glue it, to un-glue it . I'm unglued here .. Because IT's HUGE .. Just yank it out, Pull harder , Whama Zamma -Good Show and Best Camera Cew .. Hay Rosie ? Why you got to Bang on that Piano ?? no shipping yet. on the rake .
LOL - glad you enjoyed the commentary ;)
Hello, Brian love your videos and rely on them to make purchases. I have a Conscendo Evolution and ASW28 and was thinking of getting the FOX V2. Do you think the Conscendo and Fox are different enough to not be redundant? I live in Palm Springs.
Thank you
Hummmm.... Fox 3m is a better pick, but the 2.3m flies a lot like the ASW28, to be totally honest. You might want to think on that decision.
@@BrianPhillipsRC ok, thanx for responding.
@@BrianPhillipsRC can you recommend another cool plane?
Fms desperately NEEDS to label any/all their control rods! Only takes a label on a bag!
I agree!
By the way the full scale Fox is a aerobatic sale plane .
True ;)
Flaps don't go up for crow?
Typically, Ailerons act as spoilers (and keep acting as ailerons) and flaps act as flaps in CROW, but you can sometimes set it up opposite...but I wouldn't....the aerodynamics make the flapperons (Outboard flaps, and ailerons) have a real hard time rolling the plane.
I know this video is old but is there an easy way to disconnect the servo leads from the wings to disassemble? Makes no sense how they have it currently.
Hi Brian ,I am looking for a sail plane would you prepare the FMS fox or the Concendo ?
my fox seems nose heavy is your cg at book value of 40mm? even with a s3300 all the way back its still nose heavy
Great flying Brian. I appreciate you showing off this plane, and it looks like a great glider. I really love the profile of this plane. Comparing two planes, which would you prefer, the 2.3 Fox or the ASW-17?
BY FAR ASW-17, BUT it's a lot heavier than the 2.3m Fox.
To be clear - all things considered - GET THE FMS ASW-17 - AWESOME PLANE!!!
The 2.3m Fox is not my favorite glider, but it's not bad...gotta remember, I'm pretty picky about my sail planes...and I will go for the heavier ASW-17 all day long. Also consider my flying style...I don't thermal...hardly ever, I'm routinely accused of flying my sailplanes "like P-51's" - LOL - so that's part of my issue with the weaker winged 2.3m Fox.
@@BrianPhillipsRC cool. Good to know. I’ll check it out for a potentially future second glider.
Brian I bought the ar631 receiver but I can't find the forward programing menue on my DX6E E. transmitter how do I set up safe on my receiver, please help me
You probably need to update your firmware...also, I don't know that it shows up BEFORE binding to a plane with it on.
@@BrianPhillipsRC thanks for the reply I had to rebind and boom there it was Forward programing. Thanks for the help now I hope my inputs are right but the surfaces are moving now as they should u guys are great thanks
Sorry Brian ya need to set up that low stick to "yes" to truly depend on throttle cut.
Some people don't even do a throttle cut. You can also have a pre-flight question (at radio start up). Whatever makes you feel safe, is what you should be doing.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I hear ya Brian, Thanks Sir!
I want a rake...
Does it come with SAFE technology.
YES!!! This red, 2m rake comes with SAFE Select ;) LOL
It is not possible to purchase one of these bird in my country.
WHY???
Try this link - Tower Hobbies bit.ly/2XqHt45
Rake week!
LOL - yep ;)
Ok Brian fox vs asw 17???!!?
Not close enough for VS...but I might do them together for COOL factor ;)
hey brian havent talked to you in awhile. how are you and yours doin. hope all ois well. nice bird. is it hard to handthrow?
Hey Michael! Are you back to 100%??? We're doing well. This plane is super easy to hand launch...she's light and nimble, but slow on roll rate, FYI..so be kinda carefull
@@BrianPhillipsRC no the shoulder wont get any better but all is good. just still in buildin mode. weather just gettin almost ready to fly. got alot to maiden lol
Can a 3s 22mah with up to 60c work? Im just learning about c rating now, still not to sure a about it, but would the higer c rating make it go a little faster?
You got me curious now! Where's the link for the rake?
You can always purchase ANYTHING you want (rake's included) from our generic Horizon Hobby link. ;)

What was wrong with the audio in the beginning
Not sure...trying to figure it out. Do you have any idea? Really annoying too, since we TEST AUDIO before we begin 100% of the time!!!
Center the servos!!!!!!!!
I tried my best...wings are not perfect...
@@BrianPhillipsRC I know, but what happens is seeing things at a different angle, "through the eye of the camera" sees thing you don't and has guys, (well me anyway) saying "Brian center the servos to make it fit"! But it's done and it came out ok like all your Videos! Good luck in the future!
Now all I have to do is get my Motion P38L finished and flying! You want to see TERRIBLE Instructions, that's the plane to get!
I don't know Brian that plane looks like a struggle my friend 😕
It was a pain to put together, but it's a great plane now!!!
If anybody could help me, how do you set up crow
I show exactly how to do it in the video...
@@BrianPhillipsRC I’ve watched it 3x and it is still pretty hard to follow.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I didn’t get that far but thanks for letting me know!
Hey Brian, does anyone make a BNF power glider that once you get high in the air and shut off the motor, you can glide? Everyone wants speed,I want to glide high and slow. Saw a kid with a 2s consendo and that one flew great!
Conscendo Evo bit.ly/3bVtYkM
Good pick, but I'm a little confused since you seem to have answered your own question.
👍
Thanks!
