@@BloodInTheStrawberries Because usually the animal is quickly dispatched first with a jab to the brain. It’s not common to butcher it while it’s alive like what the people in the video did.
Even the tail continued to struggle, it's impressive, I wonder how long he suffered but I was sorry. The person who cut it seemed to do it cleanly, but if it was possible to get an even less painful method, I would support that.
Cooks use tools to end its suffering in minutes, in nature, they will be killed more cruelly by other animals, don't be compassionate in this, you should watch more animal channels about animal hunting, they will even eat their own children!
PS: I don't think there's any species of shrimp that gets anywhere near that size. Though some members of some shrimp species can get rather large, those are outliers and they almost never get lobster-sized. And shrimp are long and built for speed to escape predators, lobsters are bulky and built to be a tank that can play defenseive of offenseive. Edit: Fixing grammar mistakes and the post-script
People say if you kill it, the meat will spoil. My brother in christ, by cutting it in half, even if its still alive the results are completely the same since the meat is exposed and no more life support comes to them, be humane and end it first
You are supposed to stab the Lobster in the head before hand so it doesn’t suffer! I’m not against eating meat but still this was pretty inhumane to let it squirm and watch itself being cut up.
For everyone saying that the lobster is in pain and screaming, I’m going to add a few details that can further the argument. Yes, lobsters can feel pain, or at least discomfort, many studies have been shown that lobsters can feel pain/discomfort and will react accordingly. Lobsters may or may not feel pain like we do, they are a whole different species than humans, crustaceans to be exact (i think). I also don’t know what species spiny lobster is more related to, shrimp or lobster, so this is knowledge is on the basis that it is a lobster. Second, the “screaming” sound is actually the shell of the lobster, try moving within a plate or armor, it’ll make noise, lobsters to not have voices. Lastly, lobsters brains are actually spread out through their body, a shot or cut through the head has no proof that it makes them not feel pain, it just makes it so that they can’t move. So there’s a few outcomes that can come out. You cut the head in half and it doesn’t pain/discomfort; you cut the tail off and it feels pain/discomfort; or you cut the head in half, paralyze it, and it feels pain. I have seen some comments that say that freezing, or at least putting it in super cold condition is the best option, and I believe for it to be so too, Lobsters can feel temperature differences but when you put it in the freezer it's the same as putting it to sleep. Only problem is that by the time you put it in the freezer it would take too long to be served, and the cooking time and process would look significantly different, and it could potentially alter the taste, but I couldn't find any research about that
I hate to see that shrimps and other sea creatures are not getting dispatched properly like they don t feel anything.... it s a shame!! If u want to eat animals atleast kill them before and don t let them suffer...
i mean... i get it... its food and all. but why not kill it first? when he started making noises it was too savage :/ does it ruin the meal if you kill what you eat first before saving it in half? And yet alive head is server with the meal. why would you want that? otherwise you wouldn't trust it to be fresh? WHY?
As a chef, I see SO many things wrong here! An animal is giving up a life to provide nourishment. This man has no respect for it! Can’t even be bothered to put on clean, rip free gloves before absolutely 100% messing up the cuts of lobster tail. Poor lobster deserved better than this!

Only problem is that by the time you put it in the freezer it would take too long to be served, and the cooking time and process would look significantly different, and it could potentially alter the taste, but I couldn't find any research about that
there is no excuse for cruelty to any animal.
