The animation falls far outside of the uncanny valley it was never trying to make realistic looking cartoon characters, while the new snow white trailer clearly is.
Also the human actors and cartoons were integrated seamlessly in each scene. They even interacted with object as well and when they were in a dark alley or there was a spotlight, look at Jessica Rabbits intro, to how she looks in the rest of the film. Roger rabbit was made in 1988 about the cartoon world being destroyed and they were coming to the real world....not a real world with cgi dwarves that could have been played by real folks with dwarfism.
This movie could have been the easiest cashgrab for Disney. All they had to do is take the original cartoon story as is, cast 7 dwarf actors, an attractive, white woman as snow white and other appropriate cast for the queen, prince, etc. and they would have made insane bank on this movie. Instead they decided to do the exact opposite of all that and make a movie that is beyond saving. Honestly I wouldn't want tickets for this movie if they gave them out for free, hell I wouldn't even waste the space on my SSD to torrent it.
Thank you for your commentary. If I were to add anything, to comment on what the modern Disney Defender regarding dwarf actors. The reason why people are not mad at no dwarf actors as dwarfs in Rings of Power yet mad at no dwarf actors in the Snow White Remake. It's because Modern Disney screamed the loudest about Diversity Politics and so their people pleasing hypocrisy is more evident.
Also, I confess, back when the Last Jedi first received backlash, I could understand not liking the pointless side plot but I couldn't see why most people reverted to getting mad. Roger Rabbit was meant to be a cartoon inside a real world. Most of the characters in his film were cartoon creatures in a real world. It's different than the usual use of CGI that's meant to blend with the real world. Roger Rabbit was never meant to be realistic or to Be visually blended with the real world his film set in. The dwarves in Snow White however, were meant to be actual characters that blended with the world. That's why so many people are offended by what Disney had done. Disney could've hired actual dwarves actors, at least 14 (7 for the actual characters & 7 for stunts/stand-ins). They robbed 14 dwarves actors from their opportunity to be in a box office film! Instead, we got that CGI abomination.

All they had to do is take the original cartoon story as is, cast 7 dwarf actors, an attractive, white woman as snow white and other appropriate cast for the queen, prince, etc. and they would have made insane bank on this movie. Instead they decided to do the exact opposite of all that and make a movie that is beyond saving. Honestly I wouldn't want tickets for this movie if they gave them out for free, hell I wouldn't even waste the space on my SSD to torrent it.
I'd go see it if Disney would pay off my home and car loans.

If I were to add anything, to comment on what the modern Disney Defender regarding dwarf actors.
The reason why people are not mad at no dwarf actors as dwarfs in Rings of Power yet mad at no dwarf actors in the Snow White Remake. It's because Modern Disney screamed the loudest about Diversity Politics and so their people pleasing hypocrisy is more evident.
Also, I confess, back when the Last Jedi first received backlash, I could understand not liking the pointless side plot but I couldn't see why most people reverted to getting mad. Critical Drinker on the other hand gave a calm, rational explanation of why the Last Jedi failed, then it made sense.
It just goes to show the power of someone who can be a voice to people trying to make a point.
I will keep bringing this up. Walt Disney the founder and creator of the Disney Corporation had in his will, that he doesn’t want any remake of Snow White. I get why, Snow White was his first ever major animated film and probably the first in the history of film to have an animated film with that length of run time. So it’s a huge cultural touch stone for cinema and still holds up. So to see it bastardized by these activists, it’s no wonder many are rejecting it. J. R.R Tolkein, Anne Rice, Robert Jordan and Walt Disney are rolling in their graves with how terrible their works have been vandalized.

What the hell. It's by the Brothers Grimm. NOT by Disney. They made a movie in 1937. But they didn't write the fairy tale. It's from 1857. Hopefully Disney keeps their hands off the other Brothers Grimm fairy tales. The Brothers Grimm would turn in their graves if they had to see what Disney does with their fairy tales.

The problem I have with Disney and Rachel Zegler is that they obviously don't understand how the Brothers Grimm fairy tales work. With the fairy tales they always hint at something, often serious topics. In order to make such topics accessible to children, they have packaged them in fairy tales. If you look at The Bremen Town Musicians or The Fisherman and His Wife, for example, you can see that very clearly. Snow White comes from the same book from 1857. So what happens when you put the whole thing through the feminist Zegler/Disney mill? The fairy tales lose their actual meaning and degenerate into a pointless nonsense event. I am sure that Rachel Zegler doesn't understand anything at all, probably doesn't even know that the whole thing comes from the Grimms, but holds her face in front of every camera and babbles weird, weird things. The whole thing is completely stupid.
The original version of the story was written in 1812. 😂 they are trying to take a timeless story that has been around for hundreds of years and radically rewrite it.

I grew up watching the original Snow White. That is a timeless classic. You just can't trample on it, and expect people to be okay with it. Who exactly is this movie for? Why didn't Lord of the Rings use dwarves?? it comes down to numbers. Snow White number of dwarves needed = 7, LotR number of dwarves needed = 5000+ they needed a whole bloody army.
Roger Rabbit was meant to be a cartoon inside a real world. Most of the characters in his film were cartoon creatures in a real world. It's different than the usual use of CGI that's meant to blend with the real world. Roger Rabbit was never meant to be realistic or to Be visually blended with the real world his film set in.
The dwarves in Snow White however, were meant to be actual characters that blended with the world. That's why so many people are offended by what Disney had done. Disney could've hired actual dwarves actors, at least 14 (7 for the actual characters & 7 for stunts/stand-ins). They robbed 14 dwarves actors from their opportunity to be in a box office film! Instead, we got that CGI abomination.

While the cgi dwarves don't in snow white... for starters the world is built around the idea that cartoons are living being that Co exists with humans like us. And they have a place that exists within the world where everything appears animated. Like everything is made from toon version of the same materials we use.
