Let's be honest. You came here wanting to hear the song again after seeing it on tv and immediately found a tin whistle on amazon after 10 seconds of watching the video... Also every single view was a tortured star trek fan, and you have brought us peace. Thank you
Being a bit of a Trekkie myself, this is another one I've always wanted to play. I've never heard this particular version before. Absolutely beautiful. I'll probably even get a tweaked gold Clarke and make it look like the Ressikan flute Picard had.
Apparently as with others, Star Trek TNG is what made me want to play the tin whistle so that I could learn Picard's song. You've made a great tutorial.

Hi Stephanie, thank you so much for your tutorial. Like so many others I too was inspired by the song Inner Light, to buy a tin whistle. It also happens to be my all time favorite star trek next gen episode. A beautiful rendition!
I heard that Babies can hear in the womb after a certain amount of time so I learned this to play for him on Christmas just past. Thanks for making a helpful video so i was able to do something nice for him.
This and An Feochan were the songs that haunted me. That I wanted to play. On piano I could have played them out by ear, but I don't have access to my instrument anymore, so I got a whistle and I'm trying. Thank you for this. It's very helpful.
Good morning Stephanie! I think Picard would have been proud of your version! As always beautifully done! This ranks among my all time favorites! Keep it up!
This episode was a very emotional episode. For those of you that don't know it, Picard basically has the history or the life of an entire race of people implanted into his conscious. He lives the entire life of a man on a planet that has been dead for thousands of years and he is given a whistle as a gift. He is actually only unconscious for an hour or so but to him it was an entire life spent on the planet of a people gone for thousands of years. This is kind of the "theme" of these people. It makes an appearance every now and again throughout the series.
Thank you so much for covering this song, I know I said in a previous comment before that I vow to thee my country on whistle was a favourite of mine but as huge Star Trek Fan and hearing it on there for the first time it quickly became my all time favourite, I have been trying to figure this out myself with little success and with your help I can finally play this piece, thanks again and I love what you do!

This is awesome. Is there a way to replace the b? Or to convert it. I have a handpan in d minor scale and am not able to play songs having a b tune. So unhappy about that. Any suggestions, please ??? Is this song available without a b tune for other instruments?
What whistle would you recommend as a first whistle? I have a recorder that I bought my son, but I have been thoroughly enjoying playing it myself. I'd like to be able to play this song, so should I just by a D whistle or should I get something else? Is there such a thing as a Bb whistle? My other son plays a Bb clsrient.

Hi Stephanie, if you find time I would love to hear your rendition of "Plaisir d'amour". Ps. Still can't get that "black feadog" to play more than a few bars or scales before it goes off on one. Really strange.
This is a total shot in the dark but have any of you fellow tin whistle players found the Ba'Ku Village theme from Insurrection for tin whistle? I'd really like to play that oboe part but I'm not that great with converting keys.
Just love whistle music. Funny but as I got older my taste for music grew but the instruments I play got smaller and smaller: I'm a former pipe organ player... see what I mean :) Anyways, I wanted to know what do you use to do the background echo ? I love it because it makes you feel like the music comes straight from an enchanted forest early in the morning.
Signature Papeterie Glad you're enjoying it. It's just a feature in my video editing software. I just add reverb and adjust the amount accordingly. There are a few 'room-style' options for echo effects so I usually go for 'rich hall' or 'cathedral' 🤣
Request for three songs that are difficult to find tabs for. The Sailor's Wife (Song River Tam dances to in the Firefly episode "Safe"). The Legend of Zelda WindWaker Title Theme, and lastly the Deku Palace theme from Majora's Mask.
Timing is a bit off from the actual song, only in the endings of each phrase, but thats understandable given she doesnt have any standard notation to show the duration of each pitch. Other than that small imperfection, her tone is beautiful. That must be a really nice whistle.

Me too. I even bought a prop replica of his “flute”
Absolutely beautiful and this tune is almost as iconic as the main Star Trek theme as it comes from one of the best if not the best Trek episode.
The best, as selected by cast, crew and fans. The love story was as soft as the song and that was played beautifully
