Funny I used to train with a coach that was born in Soviet Union and just thought what he was teaching us was 'standard' boxing but now I can see how much of it was Soviet influenced.
Ive always been interested about this style of boxing. Cant tell you how happy and excited I am about studying your videos and finding this channel. Thank you
I know mma and boxing are different but, you do see figthers use this type of footwork to hit and make them miss, pull counters, and moving foward quickly. Good to learn and very good drills❤
Excellent clarification on the pendulum step I know about it but I was never thought how to execute it, I very happy you are sharing this "information" it has a lot of Mechanics, to it but it can be learned big like on the vid 🙂🥊
Thank you for the upload brother. Question: is the pendulum swing also effective as a shorter boxer against a taller opponent? Even tho I usually prefer the soviet fighting style (classic 1-2 combos, pendulum, snapping jabs and range fighting) I observe myself dropping this style and going for a more brawl/ inside fighting / flat footed stance when facing bigger guys… any advice or ideas?
That’s a good question. You can use the pendulum step situationally as a shorter fighter. So if you’re faster than your taller opponent the you can take advantage of that. Also you can use it when they are gassed out. Also you can use that as a setup for going inside, throw 1-2 for example and then switch to regular steps and go in There are many possible scenarios and everything is situational
Great drills! Also multiple coaches say that extending your front leg/adding a bit of a jump to the cross when doing pendulum steps will help with power and balance, can you make some drills with that tip?
Brother, good video, one question, sometimes when I'm doing the pendulum step for a while the sole of my foot starts to burn, I don't know if it's happened to you or if you know what I could do to fix it.
I explained how to optimise energy consumption for the pendulum step in this video The Pendulum Step - Boxing Bounce Footwork ruclips.net/video/LLKZKJqKe3E/видео.html
I explain it in this video. Use time codes to find exactly what you need Boxing Punch Tutorial: Mastering the Fundamentals for Beginners ruclips.net/video/dAZnOeMSk6o/видео.html
In this video I show how to do the pendulum step with something close to “optimal” technique. But overall it will always slowly eat your stamina The Pendulum Step - Boxing Bounce Footwork ruclips.net/video/LLKZKJqKe3E/видео.html
Start with the basics like stance, footwork, and punches. Build your cardio and strength while practicing defense (head movement, blocking). Then work on combos, shadowboxing, and heavy bag drills. Once you're comfortable, start light sparring, focusing on technique and ring IQ. Don't forget to stay mentally strong and take care of your recovery. Keep pushing, and you'll see progress!
Nice video man.Thank you!Respecht to Ukrain from Hungary.I'm hungarien but I very like ukrain boxers :)I have an ukrain friend His name is Yura from Kijev and in training we always sparring :)
I‘m training with the pendulum step in training/shadow boxing. Since i‘m only 1,78m i‘m trying to use it mostly for defensive purposes when drawing back from an infight. What can short fighters like me get out of it or doesn‘t it make much sense with my stature? Even when i‘m fighting with opponents my height and reach i have difficulties applying it in sparring. I’m never landing a serious hit. Do you have any tips?
Hey man, the pendulum step can definitely still work for shorter fighters! Try using it to close the distance quickly after you draw back, not just for defense. Focus on timing your entry and staying explosive. Mix it up with head movement and throw counters right after the step. That way, you can turn defense into offense. Keep practicing and it’ll click!
In the street fight i mean if u have to fight and the opponents is bare hand. This pendulum or bouncing boxing vs the normal one, not bouncing which one is better?
I have a question. in the other video, where you explain the pendulum step, when you move in the same spot, you show that you pass the weight from one foot to another. "Russian School of Boxing" instead shows that you must always stay on your toes, with stiff ankles. Is there any style difference? which is more correct? btw great video :)
Hey! That’s a good question Both ways are correct. Keeping both feet tight is better when you want to increase the pace and “explode” and transferring is better for longer periods of work I use both and that works for me
YOOO i really needed this been trying to make my own style that's derived from this i am 15 y old and on sep 20-27 it's gonna be my first ever fight. It would be cool if i get a tip on training my Orthodox and southpaw cause i can do both stance My jab on right is more stronger than left but ican still switch tho sorry for my bad english I'm not american.
Hey! Here are some tips Here are some quick tips to help with balance in boxing: 1. Stay low: Keep your knees slightly bent to stay grounded. 2. Even weight distribution: Keep your weight centered between both feet - don’t lean too far forward or back. 3. Small steps: Move with short, controlled steps instead of big leaps. 4. Hands up, core tight: Your guard helps with balance; tighten your core to stay stable. 5. Practice on one leg: Try shadowboxing while balancing on one leg to strengthen your stability.
Yeah it requires more energy. Oh I was out of breath because I was a bit sick so showing the drills and talking at the same time gave me a little trouble
Or you can get in shape. I fight this style and have no problem yea as I'm getting ready to go pro I pace myself but I also just work harder on improving my cardio to make my movement better and endurance longer
Funny I used to train with a coach that was born in Soviet Union and just thought what he was teaching us was 'standard' boxing but now I can see how much of it was Soviet influenced.

Thank you. Yea straightening the leg help with the power generation
I will post something like that in my shorts 🙌
Should you always be doing pendulum step in the ring or is it only in specific moments? is it constant?
Not always. You use it at the long range, bouncing close to your opponent isn’t a good idea
Brother, good video, one question, sometimes when I'm doing the pendulum step for a while the sole of my foot starts to burn, I don't know if it's happened to you or if you know what I could do to fix it.

It can burn for different reasons. You can try to fix your technique or simply change your shoes and the surface you’re doing it on

I have a question about your 1.5 workout. In the in & out movement, do you jump forward with both feet at the same time?
Yes I go in with both of my feet. It’s just that my lead foot has a little bit bigger range of motion
If you jump forward with both feet at the same time, doesn't it consume a lot of stamina?
hey other thing, how perform better the cross while going back?some problems with that

I wouldn’t bounce in a street fight
But in boxning thats jumping is terrible bad? Because if you junp inside it be dlower getting outside wich cab let you get knocked out
Yes, it’s good for long range and at the close range you have to land on the ground
